Greenbelt ACLS recently formed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals of all disciplines. We offer ACLS, PALS and PEARS in accordance with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) and the American Heart Association (AHA). Greenbelt operates out of a large country home NW of Toronto, between Newmarket and Orangeville. We have a one day 11 hour format for the ACLS Provider, and an 8 hour day for ACLS updates. PALS provider courses run over two days, update courses are 8 hours. Courses always run on weekdays. The 2010 manual and ECC handbook are included and shipped to your door ahead of time. There is pre course study to be done so that you are prepared for your courses. For all advanced courses you must have taken a BCLS for health care providers course within the last year. HSFC has also mandated that all advanced courses have a written exam component (including updates). Light breakfast, lunch, snacks and parking are provided. You receive an HSFC provider card upon successful completion mailed directly to your address from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. A receipt is issued on course day. A one day course instead of two, and no weekends. Greenbelt also offers the Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) program, and a new workshop on Rapid Assessment of Adults & Pediatrics.
