Village Evangelism

IN MEXICO
The Lord has continued to bless us. We spent the
K* "'"WO WEEKS Christmas and New Years vacation in Mexico,
Garnet treated patients and delivered babies and 1 visited
Christians in,the villages. The Thursday before Christ-
/m^ ^ SERVICE in San Juan de la Cruz. The village
iwas having a fiesta that night, lasting until 5:00 A.M. The
I Christians decided to have an all night service also. The
Christian service lasted from 8:00 P.M. until 4;00 A.M. with
35 people present. There was special singing, preaching, praying and reciting of mem
ory VERSES. The memory verse time was especially appreciated as the Christians recited
FOR MORE than AN HOUR, SCRIPTURES THEY HAD MEMORIZED.
The NEXT NIGHT TOOK US TO THE VILLAGE OF LA UnION. ThE SERVICE THERE LASTED ONLY
UNTIL 10:30 P.M., BUT THERE WERE OVER 100 PEOPLE THERE. CHRISTMAS EVE WE WENT TO
Sandia Grande. The service there lasted until 12:50 with about 124 people present.
Sunday we had the service in Matehuala which was followed by a baptism. The lady
who was baptized had been in the clinic to HAVE A BABY. ShE HEARD ABOUT JeSUS AND
REALLY WANTED TO GIVE HER LIFE TO HiM, GARNET ASKED HER WHAT HER HUSBAND WOULD SAY.
(Many times women are beaten or even thrown out of their homes or refused food for acc
epting THE Lord.) The lady replied, "This isn't between my husband and me, it is be
tween my Lord and me." Please pray for her. She lives in Santa Rita, a very dusty
village of about 600 people all in need of hearing and accepting the Gospel. We have
BEEN visiting THAT VILLAGE SINCE HER BAPTISM, ShE HAS ASKED US TO BEGIN REGULAR SER
VICES there. Lord willing the first service will be February 21. Please remember us
and this village in your prayers.
The Monday after Christmas, we went to Siberia. You will remember that is the
VILLAGE where I WAS STONED A FEW YEARS AGO BY THE COMMUNISTS. WE HAD A GOOD SERVICE IN
Siberia with over 75 peoplE'present. Incidentally, we saw no more signs of communism
THERE. I PREACHED FOR OVER 45 MINUTES, THEN THEY SANG A FEW SONGS & ASKED ME TO SPEAK
AGAIN. I PREACHED ANOTHER 20 MINUTES. THE HAND OF GOD IS WORKING THERE AND WE HOPE TO
BE VISITING THEM AGAIN SOON.
Wednesday, the 28th was the area village fellowship meeting. Christians came from
MANY villages, AND THERE WERE OVER 200 IN ATTENDANCE.
The Mexican workers are doing a splendid job. Sebastian preaches in Matehuala and
San Juan de la Cruz. Filemon Castro preaches in Soledad, La Venadito and La Union.
Margarito Lugo preaches in Cedritos, Tanque Nuevo and San Felipe. Guermo Carcano
PREACHES IN TrINIDAD AND ChITO CARCANO IN SANDIA GrANDE. LaZARO JuAREZ HAS JUST MOVED
TO Sandia Chico and is helping each of the other preachers where needed, Lazaro used
TO SING professionally BUT SINCE BECOMING A CHRISTIAN HAS DEDICATED HIS EFFORTS TO GoD.
Both he and Filemon play 12 string guitars and one other Christian from Soledad plays a
VIOLIN.
Garnet treated over 200 people during the vacation. Many of them were very ill.
Please pray that God will continue to bless the Christians in the villages as well as
our FAMILY IN RiO GrANDE CITY.
Two MORE BABIES DIED FROM THE COLD. ThE CLIMATE IN THE VILLAGES HAS BEEN TERRIB
LY COLD, (Cold enough to freeze ice.) None of the villagers have heating and few have
WARM blankets, MANY HAVE ASKED FOR OLD BATHROBES TO USE FOR MAKING QUILTS, If YOU
HAVE SOME YOU DO NOT NEED, THEY WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED,
We DO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE GIVEN SO GENEROUSLY TO MAKE THIS
WORK POSSIBLE, YOUR, LOVE, CONCERN, CLOTHING, MEDICAL SUPPLIES, FOOD AND FINANCIAL
AID WILL HELP ' TO SEE MORE SOULS WON FOR CHRIST. AgAIN WE SAY, "ThANK YOU AND MAY GOD
RICHLY BLESS EACH OF YOU." WE WISH ALSO AT THIS TIME TO SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO
Jack Rampalberg, Cnufid^ Kemper and "crew" for bringing Ernestine Wren back to us and
FOR THE MANY SUPPLIES THEY BROUGHT AND FOR THE REPAIR WORK THEY DID WHILE HERE. WE
TAKE THIS TIME TO INVITE ANY AND ALL OF YOU TO VISIT US AND THE WORK HERE, WE WISH
God's richest blessings on each of you.
Love in Christ our Saviour,
THE LARRY CUYLER FAMILY
