Mongol Rally With Mongol Monks

What is Mongol Rally?
Mongol Rally has been defined by The Adventurists as 10,000 miles
of feral, unsupported adventuring chaos from the UK to Mongolia in cars
smaller than most lawnmowers. Our team, the Mongol Monks, is taking on
this challenge in order to raise awareness about our target charity Cool
Earth and set an example for how we think travel should be. We plan to
document everything using a GoPro as well as lots of still photographs.

However, we face a big challenge in raising money for our endeavor
and for Cool Earth directly. This is where we seek your help. We will be one of
the youngest and most inexperienced teams in the rally and your support will
go a long way in ensuring that our dual goals of awakening our generation to
the idea of travelling without tour guides and hotel reservations and raising
awareness and support for the noble
work done by Cool Earth
can be accomplished.

All through the rally we will be spending a considerable amount of time, effort and
money to educate people about Cool Earth and the cause they support. Cool Earth
works to save rainforests the lungs of our planet all over the world in an effort to
reduce pollution, combat global warming and save fragile ecosystems. Cool Earth is
currently working with sixty five rainforest villages to protect more than 350,000
acres of forests. These forests in turn act as shields for other rainforests thereby
protecting millions of acres of even more forests.

To raise money for Cool Earth we are partnering with a new fundraising platform
FUNraiser that provides a unique way to get supporters involved. The purpose of the
platform is to gamify the concept of fundraising where supporters donate for
missions
1
and half of the proceeds from each donation goes to our cause. It also
actively involves supporters by having a so called suggested mission where one could
suggest a mission to the team.
Our Cause and Fundraising Platform

Missions are tasks that we plan to do in order to achieve our goals and in return we share a laugh, video or picture with the donors.
For example, well write a personal thank you letter and share a picture with the donors who supported us on the mission to visit a dracula castle.

Who are Mongol Monks?
Mongol Monks is made of three
friends; Omar (left), Sresth (center)
and Vaibhav (right) who met during
college and bonded over their shared
love of food and travel. We have
travelled a lot together in the last five
years while living in dirt cheap
accommodations and spending less
than twenty dollars a day.
Since graduating from college we
have been working in various
corporate industries. But, our love for
travel has not diminished one bit and we continue to explore the world. We decided to
embark on this journey after hearing about it last year. Along with counting down the
days when we can begin the rally, we are spending any free time we have in getting our
travel documents, vaccines and other essentials.
