Special recognition going out to the following students who placed in the finals: Grade 7 tournament: Connor S. - gold in boys singles Sean K. and Ryan W. - silver in boys doubles Grade 8 tournament: Christopher A. and Sean W. - bronze in boys doubles Brianna S. and Alaina S. - bronze in girls doubles We would also like to thank our parent coach, Tania Sigouin. Pioneer School Final Band Concert Wednesday, June 4th 7:00pm Pioneer Gym All Grade 6 Honour Band and Grade 7 and 8 Concert Band members need to be at the school by 6:40 to warm up. All Grade 7 and 8s need to be seated with instruments before the concert starts.
Regular uniform is required. Grade 6 Honour Band is to be dressed in black and white with black socks. The students all have vests. Grade 7 and 8 band members are to be dressed in black dress pants with a white crew neck shirt for the uniform vest.

PIONEER SCHOOL 2014 FESTIVAL RESULTS
Almost 200 students from Pioneer School participated in the Red Deer Festival of Bands during the week of April 22nd. The Grade 6 Honour Band and the Grade 7 and 8 Concert Bands all received Superior rating from the adjudicator!

SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS Grade 6 students must hand in all school owned instruments by June 5th. This includes all TUBAS, BARITONES, HORNS, BASS CLARINETS, BARI SAXES, and BELL KITS. The large school owned instruments will be cleaned and returned before the end of June so Grade 6 and 7 students can sign them out for the summer. BAND NEWS Cont. UNIFORM VESTS All vests will be collected the night of the band concert. Students need to hand in their vests at the conclusion of their performance.

For the parents of Grade 6 students continuing with the band program, there will be an information session on June 17th at 6pm. The Windshoppe will be in attendance and other options for obtaining an instrument will be discussed. Hope to see you in the band room at 6pm on June 17th!

Pencils may be purchased in the school office for .25 cents each. GRADE SIX PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST SCHEDULE Note: Gr. 6s will write exams in a.m with regular classes to follow. Attention: Gr. 6 P.A.T. exams info. Grade 6 students are allowed, even encouraged to use calculators on the Math Provincial Achievement Test to be written in June. At the school we do not have nearly enough extra calculators for all the students who will need one for the test. Please ensure that your gr. 6 student has his/her own inexpensive four-function calculator (available at the dollar stores, etc.) as soon as possible.

Boys & Girls Basketball Camp Aug. 1822, 2014 Rocky Mountain House, Alberta West Central High School is proud to announce its 7th Annual Legacy Basketball Camp. Join us for an exciting and educational week of challenge as students develop their skills and confidence to a whole new performance level.
The camp is under the direction of Mr. Mike Stevens, Head Coach of the S.A.I.T. Trojans Mens Basketball team. Dress Code Expectations Now that our weather has finally turned nice, Please remind students to dress appropriately. School dress code: If deemed unacceptable, the student will be asked to change or cover up. No breasts, bellies or buttocks showing. No underpants showing.
