Indrio Wildfire Update There were 10 homes saved with a combined effort from St. Lucie County Sheriff,
St. Lucie County Fire District, Florida Forest Service, and St. Lucie County Emergency Management. Several
homes were voluntary evacuated and road closures (to aid firefighters safety down narrow dirt roads) were
conducted by St. Lucie County Sheriffs Office. Saint Lucie County Fire District conducted structure protection
and kept the fire from spreading to the west. Florida Forest Service used dozers, helicopter and fixed-wing
(spotter) plane to contain wildfire and stop the spread towards the west.

The homeowners had prepared their homes in advanced to make it easier to defend their homes by keeping their
yards lean, clean & GREEN. Nature was 30 plus feet away from their homes, the roofs were clear of pine
needles, the grass was GREEN (well watered).

Saint Lucie County Fire District will continue to mop up tonight then when visibility is limited, they will patrol
till the morning. FL Forest Service and St. Lucie County Fire District will both return in the morning to
continue mopping up the wildfire. The fire has potential to rekindle.

Special Notes:
This area has experienced a wildfire on 03/24/2013 = 360 acres.
FL Forest Service Super Huey Helicopter made 20 water drops at 320 gallons per load.
The origin of the wildfire has been determined by air and tomorrow the origin will be investigated on the
ground to determine a cause. The fire originated near Tree Top Trail and the wind pushed the fire NW.
