Ms Di Stefano has worked at the European Commission,
Directorate General for Transport as an expert on Trans-european
networks and satellite navigation policies for several years.
Following which she advised various consultancies groups on the
decision making processes at EU levels for various sectors including the automotive
industry. In 1999 she joined Clepa where she led the Human Resources and
Development Department. She was also responsible for several e-learning projects
focusing on Total Quality. In 2004 she was appointed Director of European Affairs.
Maria Zepper, General Motors Europe
HR Director, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales
Maria Zepper has been HR Director Sales, Marketing and Aftersales for GME AG in
Zrich, Switzerland, since September 1, 2005. She started her professional career
with Alcatel SEL AG in 1978, and has held several positions in Human Resources
Management for Alcatel SEL in Stuttgart, Germany. She was promoted to Manager,
Management Resources of Alcatel N.V. in Brussels, Belgium, and moved from there
to the Alcatel Headquarters in Paris, France. She joined Adam Opel AG in 1997,
and assumed responsibility as Director European Human Resources in November
1997 at the GM Europe Headquarters in Zrich, Switzerland, prior to taking up
her assignment as Director Personnel and HRM Communication for the GM-Fiat
Worldwide Purchasing Joint Venture.
Ivo Wetsels, Toyota Motor Europe
Director Human Resources Group & Toyota Academy Europe
After an initial line role in nance at Bandag Inc. Ivo Wetsels joined
Hay Group Management Consultants in 1985 where he managed
projects for multinational clients in the areas of human resources
and organisation development.
From Hay, he moved to Price Waterhouse Consultancy where he
headed up, as managing consultant, the HR and organisation
consulting practice for Belgium but also was involved in
international assignments in diverse industries.
Ivo joined Johnson Controls in 1995 as Director Human Resources Europe for the
Controls Group before being promoted to Vice President Human Resources at Johnson
Controls automotive Groups European headquarters in Germany. In addition to his
role in HR, Ivo also ran the JCI Leadership Institute and was heavily involved in the 6
sigma initiative.
Prior to joining Toyota in 2002, Ivo worked for Unilever in Rotterdam and London
as Global Vice President Executive Recruitment and HR Development. Ivos current
role includes the responsibility for Human Resources and the Toyota Academy for the
European Sales and Marketing Organisation.
Wilfried von Rath, Volkswagen Coaching
Executive Director
Wilfried von Rath started his career as Consultant and
Management Trainer in EU funded conversion projects in Eastern
European countries. In 1994 he joined Lufthansa Consulting.
As Head of Human Resources Consulting he was responsible for
various global HR projects in the Far East, USA, Latin-America,
Mexico and Eastern European countries.
In 1998 he joined Volkswagen Coaching GmbH the HR
development subsidiary of Volkswagen AG as Head of Management Development.
The position included responsibility for the Volkswagen brand as well as an advisory
role to all brands within the Volkswagen Group.
Since January 2004 Wilfried von Rath is Executive Director of Volkswagen Coaching
GmbH (for more information www.volkswagen-coaching.de).
John Ireland, Federal Mogul
Worldwide Director of Human Resources
In 15 years with Federal Mogul, John Ireland has taken roles of increasing
responsibility in Human Resources across Europe, Asia and North America. He has
lived and worked in the UK, France, Belgium and North America. Prior to joining
Federal Mogul, John worked in Human Resources consultancy and as a commercial
manager. He has a BA in French and an MA in Strategic Human Resources
Management.
Peter Zulehner, Magna International Europe
Vice President Human Resources Europe
Mr. Zulehner became Vice President Human Resources Europe
at Magna International In 2003, responsible for the Human
Resources Management in Europe including all related activities.
His duties are the implementation of the Magna Culture in all 83
European sites in over 12 countries for approx. 30,000 employees.
Peter Zulehner is also a certied business mediator and a lecturer at the Frank
Stronach Institute at the Technical University in Graz.
Martin Jahn, Skoda Auto
MoB, Chief Human Resources Ofcer
Martin Jahn took a position with CzechInvest, a governmental
agency in 1994. 5 years later, he was appointed General Director
of CzechInvest. In that function, he was responsible for some of
the most signicant foreign investment ventures in the Czech
Republic, e.g., the TPCA automobile factory in Koln and the DHL
Center for Management of Information Technologies in Prague. Furthermore, he was
in charge of the preparation and implementation of programs supporting commercial
and industrial development funded by the EU. In August 2004, he accepted the
post of Vice-premier for Economy. In that function, he concentrated primarily on
improvement of the countrys business environment, support for scientic research
and innovations, as well as strategic management of human resources in the CR.
Since February 2006, he has been Member of the Board of Management, Chief
Human Resources Ofcer of koda Auto a.s. He was awarded the Order of merit by
the president of France.
Michael Clarke, Tenneco Europe
Vice President Human Resources
Michael Clarke is a Human Resources professional with a
background encompassing both HR Management and Operations
for major blue chip companies within Automotive and process
industries, including working for Delco Electronics, Colgate
Palmolive and Allied Signal. He has spent the last 7 years with
Tenneco and is responsible for all HR matters within Europe, South America and
India across all three Strategic Business Units (OERC, OEEC and Aftermarket). Most
recently he has been appointed to the Senior Management Team and Compensation
, Nomination, Governance Committee. Michael is signicantly involved in many
business matters and inuential in driving the restructuring efforts, at the same time
placing increasing focus on ensuring Tenneco people processes are fully engaged and
in alignment with the global strategic focus. He is creative and innovative with a
pragmatic approach focused to delivering business imperatives. His key experience is
in labor relations and Trade Union negotiations.
Mateja Sedej, Ministry of Labor, Family
and Social Affairs, Slovenia, Undersecretary,
Project HR Manager at the Automotive Cluster of
Slovenia
Mateja SEDEJ, for 8 years employed with Iskra Mehanizmi as
HR Executive, a Slovene automotive company of 500 employees.
The company has in 2003 as the rst Slovene company achieved an important
international reward working with people Investors in people Standard (IIP UK).
Ms. Sedej, working very extensively as an HR expert from 2000, is also certied as
Investors in people assesor and advisor and has many experiences in HR. Ms. Sedej
has been leading the HR Group Training and Education at the Automotive Cluster
of Slovenia from 2002. During this period the Group, which integrates HR Experts
from many eminent Slovene automotive companies, has introduced some important
Training and Educational Projects, among them the introduction of IIP Standard.
Ms. Sedej is from April 2006 employed as the Undersecretary and the National
Coordinator for European Social Fund Employment and HR at the Ministry of Labor,
Family and Social Affairs, working intensively on national HR strategies and active
labor market policies, taking into account the exicurity as the rst must for the
employers and working force. She lectures and has published several articles on HR.
