Middle School Curriculum (8 lessons) Help your students establish healthier boundaries, friendships, and respectful relationships with our middle school curriculum. This option is geared specifically for 6 th -8 th grade students.
High School Curriculum (10 lessons) Statistics show that 1 in 3 teens has experienced dating violence, but 54% of parents admit theyve never talked to their child about this important topic. SAFEHOMEs 9 th -12 th grade curriculum educates youth about safe and healthy relationships, dating violence, bystander intervention, and more.

Lets Talk About Speak Generate a student discussion about sexual violence with Speak, an award-winning book from author Laurie Halse Anderson. Follow Melindas journey through recovery and healing after she experiences a traumatizing sexual assault. In addition to providing discussion guides, SAFEHOME can loan your classroom multiple copies of the book, or one copy of the DVD based on the book. When students have completed the book or movie, a SAFEHOME educator can visit your class to facilitate discussion. Perfect for English class!

Adult Presentations For School Personnel/ Youth Workers We offer training for adults working with youth, on the topics of healthy relationships, teen dating violence, sexual assault and bystander intervention. Appropriate for teachers, resource officers, nurses, counselors, principals, social workers, church and organizational leaders. (Also see: In Their Shoes.) For Parents Parent workshops can be adapted to parent groups of all kinds. We can provide educational workshops related to instilling healthy boundaries, talking to your kids about relationships, teen dating, effects of domestic violence on children, technology and media influence, and much more. Contact our educators to determine what type of presentation is right for your parents group. Domestic Violence 101 Any group of adults can benefit from our Domestic Violence presentations. Educators present information and facilitate discussion regarding power and control in relationships, forms of relationship violence, cycle of violence, causes and effects, healing from the trauma, how to help a friend, resources available, prevention, and what you can do to make a difference. (Ask about our Domestic Violence in the Workplace presentation, for your place of business.) Cut It Out: Salons Against Domestic Abuse Dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals to fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in U.S. communities, Cut It Out is a national program that trains salon professionals to recognize warning signs and safely refer clients to local resources. SAFEHOME educators partner with Cut It Out, and can provide this training to local schools, salons, continuing education classes and beauty events.
In Their Shoes: Teens & Dating Violence From the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence comes In Their Shoes, an interactive tool that uses real life scenarios to educate audiences about teen dating violence. This activity is ideal for both teens and the professionals who work with them. Facilitated by a SAFEHOME educator, it takes one hour to complete, and is great for groups that would like a one-time presentation that is powerful and informative. (Ask about In Her Shoes, for adults.)
The Outrage The Outrage is an educational theatrical presentation that is performed by trained teen volunteers. Often presented for large groups, such as school assemblies, The Outrage educates teens and adults about teen dating violence and sexual assault in an honest and sensitive way. This award- winning program has been very well-received in area middle and high schools, and has received national recognition. The entire presentation lasts approximately 50 minutes, including a brief introduction, the performance piece, and a question and answer session with the actors and educators. A SAFEHOME educator visits the school approximately one week following the performance for Talkback sessions in smaller groups. The Outrage scripts are also available to schools and organizations for purchase, allowing other groups of teens to perform the show for their own communities.
IGNITE IGNITE is an after-school club that empowers students to have a positive impact on the overall culture of their school, promoting healthy relationships and non-violence. Students meet once per week with a SAFEHOME educator to interact about the issues existing at their school and develop large-scale projects to help reach out to the student body. The programming for IGNITE is arts-based, providing students with many forms of expression for sparking a healthy shift in their school environment. IGNITE is a way for students from all backgrounds and interests to use their unique strengths to initiate the change they wish to see. Contact us to bring IGNITE to your school!
Until Respect Spreads Like Wildfire Youth Workshops SAFEHOME offers 90-minute workshops for youth. Each workshop also includes a Take Action Project where students create a community service project. These workshops are great for after-school clubs and youth groups. We have partnered with the Girl Scouts, and our programming is approved to meet badge requirements.
Friendships Dont Hurt (Elementary School) Participants will learn healthy communication styles, setting of personal boundaries and how to develop healthy and respectful friendships with their peers.
Technology is Our World (Middle School) Participants will learn about responsible media consumption, staying safe while navigating different technology, and how to advocate for healthy and respectful media use among their peers.
Loves Me, Loves Me Not (High School) Participants learn that healthy dating relationships are based on equality and respect. They learn to recognize signs of abusive relationships, how to seek help, and how to stand up to unhealthy relationship behaviors around them.
