Adult Presentations
For School Personnel/ Youth Workers
We offer training for adults working with youth, on
the topics of healthy relationships, teen dating
violence, sexual assault and bystander
intervention. Appropriate for teachers, resource
officers, nurses, counselors, principals, social
workers, church and organizational leaders. (Also
see: In Their Shoes.)
For Parents
Parent workshops can be adapted to parent groups
of all kinds. We can provide educational workshops
related to instilling healthy boundaries, talking to
your kids about relationships, teen dating, effects
of domestic violence on children, technology and
media influence, and much more. Contact our
educators to determine what type of presentation
is right for your parents group.
Domestic Violence 101
Any group of adults can benefit from our Domestic
Violence presentations. Educators present
information and facilitate discussion regarding
power and control in relationships, forms of
relationship violence, cycle of violence, causes and
effects, healing from the trauma, how to help a
friend, resources available, prevention, and what
you can do to make a difference. (Ask about our
Domestic Violence in the Workplace presentation,
for your place of business.)
Cut It Out: Salons Against Domestic Abuse
Dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals to
fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in U.S.
communities, Cut It Out is a national program that
trains salon professionals to recognize warning
signs and safely refer clients to local resources.
SAFEHOME educators partner with Cut It Out, and
can provide this training to local schools, salons,
continuing education classes and beauty events.

In Their Shoes: Teens & Dating Violence
From the Washington State Coalition Against
Domestic Violence comes In Their Shoes, an
interactive tool that uses real life scenarios to
educate audiences about teen dating violence. This
activity is ideal for both teens and the
professionals who work with them. Facilitated by a
SAFEHOME educator, it takes one hour to
complete, and is great for groups that would like a
one-time presentation that is powerful and
informative. (Ask about In Her Shoes, for adults.)

The Outrage
The Outrage is an educational theatrical
presentation that is performed by trained teen
volunteers. Often presented for large groups, such
as school assemblies, The Outrage educates teens
and adults about teen dating violence and sexual
assault in an honest and sensitive way. This award-
winning program has been very well-received in
area middle and high schools, and has received
national recognition. The entire presentation lasts
approximately 50 minutes, including a brief
introduction, the performance piece, and a question
and answer session with the actors and educators. A
SAFEHOME educator visits the school approximately
one week following the performance for Talkback
sessions in smaller groups. The Outrage scripts are
also available to schools and organizations for
purchase, allowing other groups of teens to perform
the show for their own communities.

IGNITE
IGNITE is an after-school club that empowers
students to have a positive impact on the overall
culture of their school, promoting healthy
relationships and non-violence. Students meet once
per week with a SAFEHOME educator to interact
about the issues existing at their school and
develop large-scale projects to help reach out to
the student body. The programming for IGNITE is
arts-based, providing students with many forms of
expression for sparking a healthy shift in their
school environment. IGNITE is a way for students
from all backgrounds and interests to use their
unique strengths to initiate the change they wish to
see. Contact us to bring IGNITE to your school!

Until Respect Spreads Like Wildfire
Youth Workshops
SAFEHOME offers 90-minute workshops for youth.
Each workshop also includes a Take Action Project
where students create a community service project.
These workshops are great for after-school clubs
and youth groups. We have partnered with the Girl
Scouts, and our programming is approved to meet
badge requirements.

Friendships Dont Hurt (Elementary School)
Participants will learn healthy communication
styles, setting of personal boundaries and how to
develop healthy and respectful friendships with
their peers.

Participants will learn about responsible media
consumption, staying safe while navigating
different technology, and how to advocate for
healthy and respectful media use among their
peers.

Loves Me, Loves Me Not (High School)

are based on equality and respect. They learn to
recognize signs of abusive relationships, how to
seek help, and how to stand up to unhealthy
