Johnson County District Court Judge Brenda Cameron sentenced Nicole Rose Carter to 12.9 years
in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections for her role in the June 26
th
Attempted First
Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder of Dennis Davey in case number
13DV778.
Also on this date, Johnson County District Court Judge Brenda Cameron sentenced Adam Ryan
Hersh to 19.5 years in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections for his role in this June 26,
2013, incident.
These cases were investigated by the Shawnee Police Department and the Johnson County Crime
Lab and were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Sarah Hill and Michael McElhinney.

Nicole Rose Carter and Adam Ryan Hersh both entered guilty pleas in their cases. They pleaded as
charged in the attempted murder of Dennis Davey and will both be sentenced on May 29, 2014.

Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe announced that a jury convicted Denise Daleen
Davey of Attempted First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder in case number
13DV1026.

Date: August 19, 2013
Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe announced that charges were filed against a fourth
individual involved in the attempted murder of Dennis Davey on June 26, 2013. Denise Daleen Davey of
Shawnee was charged in Johnson County District Court case 13DV1026.
She was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree
Murder. Denise Daleen Davey was arraigned on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in Division M4 of
the Johnson County District Court.

Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe announced that charges were filed against three
individuals involved in the attempted murder of Dennis Davey on June 26, 2013, in Shawnee, Kansas.
Nicole Rose Carter of Shawnee was charged in Johnson County District Court case 13DV778. Whitney
Terrice Hersh and Adam Ryan Hersh, both of Kansas City, Missouri, were charged in cases 13CR1438 and
13CR1439, respectively.
