NCase GFF-900 Composi t e

w i t h NCase SP Epox y

DESCRIPTION
The NCase GFF-900 Composite comprises of NCase SP Epoxy and NCase GFF-900 reinforcing fibre fabric. NCase GFF-900 is a specifically
engineered, unidirectional E-glass reinforcing fabric used in the NCase Structural CompositeSystem. The NCase GFF-900 reinforcing fabric is
woven with E-glass continuous primary fibres orientated in the 0
0
direction (fabric length) with a combination of glass and filler secondary fibres at
90
0
direction (fabric width) for added stiffening and stability to avoid fabric fraying whilst cutting and installation. The NCase SP Epoxy two-
component epoxy matrix material is a specially formulated resin matrix that serves the purposes of both, substrate wet priming and fabric saturation.

USE
NCase GFF-900 Fabric is combined with NCase SP Epoxy material to enhance the strength and ductility of RCC elements in bridges, buildings,
jetties and other reinforced concrete structures.

ADVANTAGES
100% solvent free, pigment-free and filler-free, pure composite system.
Good high & low temperature properties
Long working time
High elongation
Ambient cure.

MATERIAL CERTIFICATES
MSDS will be provided upon request.
Possesses 0% V.O.C. levels

PACKING
Order NCase GFF-900 Fabric in 1.20m width x 45m length rolls.
Order NCase SP Epoxy in pre-measured units of 14.2 litres/set (Component A +Part B).

COVERAGE
Theoretically, ~54.0 square meters surface area with 3 to 3.5 sets of NCase SP Epoxy and 1 roll of NCase GFF-900 fabric when optimally primed
and saturated. Final coverage will vary depending of fabric wastages, substrate and other site conditions.

EPOXY MIX RATIO
100 : 42 Part A : Part B, by volume.
100 : 35 Part A : Part B, by weight.

SHELF LIFE
Fabric - ten years in proper storage conditions.
Epoxy - two years in original, unopened and properly stored containers.

STORAGE CONDITIONS
Store epoxy at 4
o
C to 40
o
C. Avoid exposure to rain or freezing. Store rolls flat, not on ends, at temperatures below 40
o
C. Avoid moisture and
water contamination.

DESIGN
The NCase Composite System shall be designed to meet specific design criteria. The design criteria for each project is dictated by the structural
engineer and based on any relevant building codes and/or guidelines. The design should be based on the allowable strain compatibility for each
type of application and the design tensile modulus of the composite system. NCase fibre anchors are required to be incorporated in some designs.
Contact Sriyani Designers for a no obligation preliminary design guideline for using NCase Composite Systems.

SURFACE REQUIREMENTS
NCase Composite System is recommended to be installed on sound parent concrete surface of the structural element intended to be strengthened.
The surface preparation is solely dependent on the existing condition of the element being strengthened. In general, the surface must be sound,
clean, dry and free of protrusions or cavities. Edges and sharp corners to be rounded off by diamond grinding or using approved cement based
repair mortar/skim coat followed by curing an dprime coat of NCase SP Epoxy. At the time of application, the surface shall not have any free
moisture on it. All structural defects or deficiencies in concrete such as cracks, honeycombs, spalls etc. should be appropriately addressed prior to
installation of the NCase Composite system. A method statement relevant to the project application highlighting the appropriate surface preparation
procedures and materials shall be submitted for approval.

SATURANT MIXING
For pre-measured units available in 15 litre capacity pails, pour the entire contents of Component B into the pail of Component A. For partial mixing,
100.0 parts of Component A to 42.0 parts of Component B by volume OR 100.0 parts of Component A to 35.0 parts of Component B by weight.
Mix thoroughly for three to five minutes with a slow speed stirrer or paddle mixer at 400-600 RPM until uniformly blended. Use within 45~60
minutes of mixing at 25
o
C.

INSTALLATION
NCase Composite System is installed by trained and certified applicators experienced in installation of NCase Composite Systems. Installation
shall be in strict compliance with the suppliers installation guidelines and shall essentially be wet lay-up system.

Wet prime the prepared surface with NCase SP Epoxy using a roller. Saturate the NCase GFF-900 fabric by feeding it through the mechanical
saturator or perform manual saturation using rollers. Install saturated NCase GFF-900 manually by approved wet lay-up methods. Install
subsequent layers of the fabric according to the Specifications and the Design Requirements. Using rollers and/or hand pressure ensure proper
orientation of fibers, release or roll out entrapped air and ensure that each individual layer is firmly bedded and adhered to the preceding layer or
substrate. Certain projects may require slight changes in lay-up techniques depending on site scenarios. This shall be agreed with the structural
engineer prior to installation.

LIMITATIONS
Application temperature of the NCase SP Epoxy is a minimum 4
o
C and maximum of 38
o
C. DO NOT THIN, solvents will prevent proper cure.

CLEANUP
Collect with absorbent material, flush with water. Dispose of in accordance with local disposal regulations. Uncured material can be removed with
approved solvent. Cured materials can only be removed mechanically.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Avoid breathing resin vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Safety glasses or a face shield are recommended to prevent eye contact. Use of
an approved face mask with an organic absorption cartridge is recommended for possible concentrated vapours. Rubber gloves, boots, and
protective suits are recommended for handling and application of the materials. Keep container tightly closed. Not for internal consumption. Consult
material safety data sheet (MSDS) for more information. Keep out of reach of children. For industrial use only.

FIRST AID
In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. For eye contact, flush immediately. For respiratory problems, remove to fresh air.
Wash clothing before reuse.
