Types of Research

Basic Research
Basic research is a systematic study directed toward greater knowledge or
understanding of the fundamental aspects of phenomena without specific
applications or products in mind. It includes all branches of science
and engineering.
Applied Research
Applied research deals with solving practical problems and generally
employ empirical methodologies. Because applied research resides in the messy
real world, strict research protocols may need to be relaxed. For example, it may be
impossible to use a random sample. Thus, transparency in the methodology is
crucial. Implications for interpretation of results brought about by relaxing an
otherwise strict canon of methodology should also be considered.

Conclusion
The overall analysis shows a distinct picture which goes with the null hypothesis
Majority of the participants wants a change after the 10 yr old reign of congress.
Due to which Congress is not so favorite of the masses this time .Majority of
people sampled were fond of the Modi wave and were ready to give their vote to
BJP or even for that matter to Arvind Kejriwal.
It is distinctly observed that age group of 18-25 support AAP due to their
campaign against corruption. Majority of the people would vote for BJP & they
would emerge as a winner but AAP would not let them to form the government
because they are also a Strong party in this run of the election as observed from the
survey.
Some major LS polls suggest that congress would face their biggest defeat in this
election. Thus based on the analysis of all the above mentioned parameter peoples
choice for this Lok Sabha election is Bhartiya Janta Party

Suggestion
Some of the suggestion given by the participants is as follows-
1) A law should be made to regulate the internal affairs of political parties. It
should be made compulsory for political parties to maintain a register of its
members, to follow its own constitution, to act as a judge in case of party disputes
and to hold open elections to the highest post.
2) It should be made mandatory for political parties to give minimum number of
tickets, about one-third to the women candidates.
3) There should be state funding of elections. The government should give parties
money to support their election expenses. This support could be given in kind;
petrol, paper, telephone, etc. Or it could be given in cash on the basis of votes
secured by the party in the last elections
4) People are tired of the corruption in every sector. All the people want corruption
free india. They want rapid development better infrastructure & employment
generation. Women safety is one just crucial issue which they want to be addressed
by the government
