Storeman Details 2

*Working as a team to increase flexibility and maintain cover in the Distribution Centre
Complying with all procedures and the Code of Ethics
One of the main duties that a storeman is responsible for is keeping track of what is
stored in stock and inventory. The storeman must monitor current stock levels and
decide if there is enough or if more should be ordered. The storeman is also be
responsible for organising inventory so it is easily accessible and safe for those working
in the storage area.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with suppliers deliveries (processing delivery notes, marking goods, distributing goods in
workshop)
- Loading/unloading of vehicles
- Updating on computer .
To assist in the smooth running of the warehouse by receiving and organising stock in
accordance with the company procedures.

Receive goods inwards, check quantities and condition and complete paperwork as
appropriate
Carry out stock checks as directed by Purchasing/Stock Controller
Ensure that the warehouse/stores are kept in a clean and orderly
Some PC work so basic PC kills are required
The storeman is also be responsible for organising inventory so it is easily accessible and
safe for those working in the storage area.

will have a good working knowledge and understanding of computer systems including
Microsoft Office programmes and ideally have knowledge in stock control. You must also
be organised and have a methodical approach to your work as accuracy is an important
part of this role.

You will need to demonstrate a flexible approach, be able to work under pressure, be able
to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, have experience of Microsoft
Office Products and have a driving licence.
Loading and unloading trucks and vans in a safe manor using suitable lifting
equipment
Ensuring materials are counted and controlled as per procedures and defined
requirements.
Communicating effectively with supervisors office personnel.

Ensuring all goods receipts notes are correct and signed
Ensuring database is updated to reflect stock movement in a timely manner.
