PX723 Service Calls List

[Note]
The service calls that CU firmware displays on the operator panel (LCD) are color-coded in "S/C No." column as follows.
(1) CU firmware or CPU detected a CU board related physical problem.
(2) CU firmware detected an anomaly in a program or data in nonvolatile media connected to CU board (ROM,FLASH memory,HDD) or in an optional board.
(3) CU firmware detected an anomaly in behavior in PU (including a violation of communication protocol between CU and PU). Where the cause exists (in CU or PU?) is not known.
(4) CU(CPU or CU firmware itself) detected an abnormal behavior of CU firmware. (It is possible that the root cause is a problem of the CU board.)
(5) PU firm detected a physical problem in mechanism or PU board and CU displays S/C No. according to the problem.
(6) Above (5) is happening and a user can fix the error.

045 Flash File System Recovery Failed It failed in formatting Flash memory (recovery process after
the occurrence of S/C042 failed).

054 Scanner Communication Error Communication error was detected between the controller
unit and the scanner unit (command sent from CU).
Record the value displayed on the LCD panel and close the error display.
055 Scanner Missing Error Controller Unit detected that the scanner unit which was
detected at power on has disappeared.
Record the value displayed on the LCD panel and close the error display.
If the condition does not improve after powering on the machine again, the device needs
to be replaced through service or the connection between the scanner and the printer
needs to
056 Hdd Missing Error Controller Unit detected that a hard disk is missing on a
machine which must have a hard disk.
Power off and power on the machine again after mounting a hard disk.

Command communication time out was detected between the
controller and the scanner unit (the cause is displayed by a
sub number).
01 : No ACK for the command to start reading.
02 : No ACK for the command to cancel reading.
Record the value displayed on the right of the lower side of LCD and power on the
machine again.
It is possible that data in the font ROM (or Flash) is damaged or a font ROM which is not
supported by CU firm (different version number) is mounted. Or there may be an
abnormal condition in RAM.
In the case of ROM DIMM, replace the ROM. In the case of F
Leave the resident RAM as is. Pull out the expanded RAM once and insert it again, then
power on the machine again. *2
If the condition is reproduced immediately after powering on the machine again,
maintenance through service is necessary.
After checking the specification, mount the RAM which spec is supported on the product.

When a S/C No. in red background column is reported, make sure you record the conditions when it happened (sent data, CU/PU firmware versions, operation and etc.) and also
print the MenuMap. The firmware problems in red column.
*1 S.C. = LCD displays a service call. P.O. = A message appears and prompts a user POW ON.
*2 When it happened, confirm it can be reproduced. After rebooting, operate the printer in the same way that caused the problem, and check if the same service call message appears.
