Abstract summary of the study, with primary emphasis on results and conclusion

Keyterms are words that are important to the paper and attract potential readers
Introduction provides context and some background information. It tells the reader why the subject is important.
This section has the hypothesis, thesis or objective.
Literature Review is a summary of the literature relevant to a particular field or topic.
Methodology This part states and explains the process by which data, results, and evidence
are collected, organized, and analyzed.
Results summarizes the raw data collected through the announced methodology
Discussion Highlights the implication of the results and the interpretation of the data. It shows the relationship
between the results and objectives/hypothesis
Conclusion This summarizes the results and major implications. It can make a suggestion,
ask a question or call for action
Work cited/ Bibliography This component cites all the references made in the paper to
other research studies and sources of information

Define key elements of academic argument that we have discussed this semester
Claims are arguable statements of fact, opinion or belief that form the back bone of arguements
Evidence supports the claim
Reasons explain why the claims should be accepted
Assumptions putting claims and reasons together leads to argument bas eon assumption the writer expects
the audience to hold.
Qualifiers make claims precise as possible. One example is the word few


Define the three types of persuasion that we have discussed this semester
Ethos (Credibility), or ethical appeal, means convincing by the character of the
author.
Pathos (Emotional) means persuading by appealing to the reader's emotions.
Logos (Logical) means persuading by the use of reasoning.

Identify and describe the different sections of a literature review
Introduction discusses the topic and the genral context for the topic. Potential motivating question(s) and the
potential significan of the question(s)/ topics are layed out. The main themes are introduced by the discussion
of the purpose and shape of the literature review.

Body Dicusses the literatures data and summarizes them. It provides historical background, opposing views,
questions, findings, etc

Conclusion Contains the summary of findings and evaluation of the researche that were discussed. There is
the discussion of miss opportunities or unanswer question. Lastly, there are specific suggestion(s) for further
research.
