ARIZONA STATE FLAG
The purpose of this project is to create and design
a green certified, affordable living space in Phoenix,
Arizona.

Arizona is consistently hot all
year round.
Arizona barely has any rain fall
It is a great place for solar
energy because its almost always
sunny
Climate:
Annual High Temp:
86.7F
Annual Low Temp:
63.4F
Average annual
precipitation - rainfall:
8.04 inch
Days per year with
precipitation rainfall: 36
days
Annual hours of sunshine:
3,832 hours or 159.7 days
Renewable energy
sources availability:
Hydroelectricity

Limitations of living in
Phoenix, AZ :
High levels of air pollution
Drinking Water Pollution
Extremely hot almost 10
months of the year

Phoenix makes up about 23% or
1,488,750 of Arizonas complete
population which is 6,551,149
In 2010 Phoenix had about 2,800 people
per square mile
White people make up about 66% of
Phoenixs population whereas black
people make up about 6.5% of the
population.
This is a modern cliff side house
that can be found on the outskirts
of Phoenix, Arizona near South
mountain.
This is more of the standard
style of house that can be
found all around Phoenix,
Arizona.
Concrete ( exterior walls)
Drywall ( interior walls)
Fiberglass (insulation)
Shingles or asphalt shingles (roofing)
Wood, Vinyl, Fiberglass or, Aluminum
(window Frames)
Flooring: Bamboo and natural fiber carpet
Bamboo is both low maintenance and cost effective.
Are made of all natural fibers and are also highly cost
effective.
Insulation: Aerogel
Even though a tad expensive it is one of the most green
insulations on the market.
It is about 10 mm thick and is great for a house in Arizona
because it keeps cold air in and hot air out and vice
versa.
Walls: insulated concrete
Roofing: Fiber cement

The city of Phoenix, Arizona uses the
Southwest Energy Systems, LLC to manage
and distribute the electricity to each home
and business.
Basically their version of Con Edison
The city of Phoenix, barely gets rain and
clouds which means it is a prime location
for the use of solar panels to create
electricity.
Solar panels are a greener solution to
creating electricity than being part of the
grid because solar do not release green
house gases.
