within given context:
a) ai and ee(2 Fikrah)
2.1.2 Able to blend phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud.
2.2.4 Able to read and understand a paragraph of 5-8 simple sentences.
Objectives :
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :
a) recognize and articulate the sound.
b) blend phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud.
c) Read and understand the poem.

Activities :
1. Revise the rhyme one little caterpillar.
2. Revise the -at wordcards with students, by getting them to choose from a selection of word
cards and match the words articulated by teacher.
3. Revise the ee and ai wordcards with pupils.
4. Play the whats missing? flash card game with the students.
5. Put up the poem see the bee. Talk about it. Get students to read the poem. Conduct a
choral reading.
6. Students will then do a writing exercise.

1. Write the title of the poem on the board. Ask students what they know about goats
and toads. Elicit ideas from students.
2. Explain the difficult words in the poem i.e adore.
3. Put up the poem. Read the poem while explaining the storyline. Draw attention to the
poem having a plot line.
4. Talk about the order of events in the poem e.g. First the goat met the toad, next they
fell in love, finally they got married.
5. Get students to write in their own words the beginning, middle and end of the story.
They will work in pairs.
6. Students will then complete a cloze passage of the poem.
