WHAT CONSTlTUTES YOUR REASONABLE SERVlCE TO GOD?

Biblical types and shadows always fulfill, they are incremental prophecies
(Rom l2:l,2) l beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service. And be not conformed to this world [Gk: aion] [versus Gk: kosmos (universe)]:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good
[30 fold], and acceptable [sixty fold], and perfect [l00 fold], will of God.
reasonable = Gk: logikos; rational (logical): - reasonable.
reasonable = Dict: l. agreeable to reason or sound judgment: a reasonable choice. 2.
not exceeding the limit prescribed by reason: not excessive: reasonable terms.
service = Gk: ministration of God, worship: - (divine) service /// to minister (to God), that
is, render religious homage: - serve, do the service, worship, worshipper.
conformed = Gk: to be fashioned alike, conformed to the same pattern (fig.): - conform
to, fashion self according to /// be in union with, be together.
transformed = Gk: to transform (lit. or fig. metamorphose): - change, transfigure,
transform.
renewing = Gk: renovation /// new (especially in freshness).
renovate = Dict: l. to make new or as if new again; restore to good condition; repair. 2.
to reinvigorate; refresh; revive.
GOD TESTED ABRAHAM FOR HlS REASONABLE SERVlCE JUST AS GOD lS
TESTlNG YOU
RlGHT NOW WlTH EVERY BREATHE YOU ACCEPT FROM HlM
(Gen 22:l-3) And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt [Heb: test]
Abraham [Heb: father of a multitude], and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold,
here l am. And he [God] said, Take now thy son, thine only son lsaac [Heb: laughter],
whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt
offering [wherein the sacrifice is wholly consumed] upon one of the mountains which l
will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up [manifesting the thought of complete obedience
without objection or retort] early in the morning [diligently obeying], and saddled his ass,
and took two of his young men with him, and lsaac his son, and clave the wood for the
burnt offering, and rose up [(second reference: emphasis upon the act of unquestioning
obedience)], and went unto the place of which God had told him.
Commentary: Hagar was the Egyptian bondwoman of Sarai (Heb: a head person of any
rank or class) who was the barren wife of Abram (Heb: high father). When Abram was 86
years old and Sarai was 76, Hagar bore Abram a son named lshmael (Heb: God will
hear). Nelson's lllustrated Bible Dictionary states that Mohammed claimed lshmael as
his ancestor, as most Arabs do.
(Gen l6:ll,l2) And the angel of the LORD said unto her [Hagar], Behold, thou art with
child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name lshmael; because the LORD hath
heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and
every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
Commentary: Please note the following name changes indicating an interesting and
relevant change of character by becoming imputed for righteousness, or in effect
becoming born-again. When Abraham (Heb: father of a multitude) was l00 years old
and his wife Sarah (Heb: a female noble: - lady, princess, queen) was 90 years old, the
now fertile Sarah bore Abraham a younger half-brother to lshmael named lsaac (Heb:
laughter), and God excluded lshmael (Gen 22:2) from the lineage of the holy covenant,
although the lshmaelites (modern Muslims) may be converted back into the covenant.
Commentary: Types and shadows: Moriah was one of the three hills (mountains) of
Jerusalem (Mts. Ophel, Moriah, Zion). ln this narrative, Abraham's sacrifice at the altar in
Moriah prophetically symbolized (announced) the eventual location of the temple in
Jerusalem, containing the brasen altar of sacrifice (justification, i.e., salvation) which
accepts a burnt offering sacrifice.
clave = Heb: to cleave; generally to rend, break, rip or open: - make a breach, break
forth (into, out, in pieces, through, up), be ready to burst, cleave (asunder), cut out,
divide, hatch, rend (asunder), rip up, tear, win.
Commentary: The wood was split up, cut asunder, broken down, from trees which are a
type and shadow of men, prophesying Father Abraham's humbling effect, by word and
deed, of changing, transforming (Rom l2:2) the multitude who were to follow him
from being strong tall proud trees, into small frail sticks of wood.
(Gen 22:4-6) Then on the third day [a third day prophecy: Hos 6:l-3] Abraham lifted up
his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye
here with the ass; and l and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
And Abraham [now representing God] took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it
upon lsaac his son [a type and shadow of Jesus Christ and His burden of wood,
symbolizing the sin in us destined to be burned away]; and he took the fire [symbolic of
the consuming fire of God] in his hand [symbolic of the Hand Ministry of Eph 4:ll,l2,
i.e., God operating through the agency of Abraham], and a knife [symbolic of the word of
God, the sword of the Spirit]; and they went both of them together.
(Gen 22:7-l0) And lsaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he
said, Here am l, my son [l will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Heb l3:5): Abraham
to lsaac; God to Jesus]. And he [lsaac] said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is
the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a
lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place
which God had told him of [Mount Moriah]; and Abraham built an altar there [a type and
shadow of the brasen altar of the tabernacle/temple, upon which the Muslim mosque of
The Dome of The Rock is presently sits], and laid the wood in order, and bound lsaac his
son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and
took the knife to slay his son.
The Pentateuch And Haftorahs = God will provide Himself the lamb for a burnt-offering.
New King James Version = God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.
Amplified Bible = God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering.
New American Standard = God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering.
New lnternational Version = God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my
son.
The Living Bible = God will see to it, my son.
(Gen 22:ll.l2) And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said,
Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am l [always faithful, always obedient]. And he
said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now l know
that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
(Psa lll:l0) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding
have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
(Gen 22:l3,l4) And Abraham lifted up [accepted the invitation to understand and
elevated] his [spiritual] eyes [his understanding], and looked [Heb: discerned, perceived],
and behold behind him a ram [a matured lamb, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ] caught
[Heb: seized] in a thicket [wrapped in thick or dense growth, rather like Jesus who
seemed overwhelmed by the surrounding evil people] by his horns [biblical symbols of
power which Jesus demonstrated through His words and His miracles, i.e., two horns]:
and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering [to be wholly
consumed] in the stead of his son [giving his best and dearest, ultimately prophesying
greater love for Jesus Christ than his own only son]. And Abraham called the name of
that place Jehovahjireh [Jehovah provides; Jehovah is our provider]: as it is said to this
day, ln the mount of the LORD it shall be seen [i.e., another clear prophecy].
(Gen 22:l5-l8) And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the
second time [an allusion to the Second Coming, the ultimate blessing], And said, By
myself have l sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not
withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing l will bless thee, and in multiplying l will
multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea
shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the
nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Amen.

Jerusaln ( Mts Ofel , Moriah , Zion ) .

a lsaac ; Dios a Jess ] .

Abraham y dijo: Heme aqu [ siempre fiel, siempre obediente ] . Y l dijo: No extiendas tu
