Collocation dictionary

Collocation is the words that used with a certain word. For example, attach, box, and send is
collocation words of Post office. Through the collocation dictionary, ESL students can understand
vocabulary, and learn how a certain word can be used with other words.

Concordancer
This lesson is designed to introduce you to concordancers, so you wont be shocked when you go into
much more detail in your TESOL 425 TESOL Vocabulary class. The best way to learn about concordancers
is through an internet search for them. Through the concordancer, ESL teachers and students can know
how a certain word works with other words in different resources such as journals, books, readings,
magazines, and so forth. Concordancer provides a good example about how the certain word can be
used with other vocabulary.

Translators (Bilingual Dictionaries)
In the old days, one had to use a bilingual dictionary when doing translation work. Now there are several
online resources that can translate not only words, but whole phrases or sentences. Even Microsoft
Word has a translate function.

Translator will be helpful for ESL classroom when students have no ideas about
other languages. Computer translation can work, but not perfectly because it
