In essence, this passage encapsulates what Bethany Baptist Church Dubai has achieved last May. As we
continue to abide in the Vine who is Christ, our church is becoming very fruitful in its various ministries
to perpetuate the Great Commission.
Last month, our church had a total number of seventy (70) first- time visitors. Out of which, there were forty
(40) professions of faith and five (5) followed the Lord in water of baptism. There were three (3) who just
transferred their memberships! We praise and thank God for these precious fruits that He added to the
church. We also thank all the brethren of BBCD for their prayers, support and involvement in the ministry
of the Lord!
Our church regularly conducts five (5) church services (Friday School, Worship Service, Evangelistic
Service & Afternoon Service, as well as Sunday Night Prayer Meeting) every week. We have a total of ten
(10) bible studies conducted in various parts of Dubai led by our faithful men of the church. A monthly
fellowship for the various ministries- ladies, men and young professionals- are also held. A systematic
and rigorous discipleship program is taught face-to-face wherein new members are taught the basic
doctrines of the Bible to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (1 Pet.
3:18). One of the privileges of our members is our satellite Bible School where we taught our students
significant bible doctrines that Baptists strongly uphold to. Each student earns respectable number of
units; the completion of the required subjects will eventually lead to the conferment of an Associate
Degree in Ministry at Bethany Makati. A newly minted work left by our Brother Argie Pizarro half a year
ago, the hospital ministry aims to bring the gospel to the lost souls who are terminally ill.
Interestingly, a Sports Ministry has also been formed to organize sporting events such as basketball,
bowling and tennis. Fostering camaraderie and fellowship among our brethren are the aims of these
fun-filled activities.
My brethren, we should continue to abide in Christ and unite in the spirit of love and humility, that God be
continually glorified in our lives and blesses us with fruit that may abound to your account (Phil. 4:17).
Let us continue to serve God faithfully and fruitfully till Jesus comes (Luke 19:13).

BULLETIN
THE
It was a splendid day worshipping the Lord with the white sun overhead that cheers up villas,
people, trees and most especially, the brethren. From the outside came so many voices, clatter of
dishes, cackles, river of cars and minute dust motes that floated around the church. While
drumming my fingers on the billiard table, I awoke from my reverie as the petite lady stepped
into the hall with her effortless beauty, bright smiles, warmth and grace and ramrod-straight
deportment that exuded naturally. Fragile yet strong as iron, her lilac-colored dress and conser-
vative demeanor belie her steely resolution. I was set to interview Sister Marjorie Sebastian Gois,
an Office Manager for FireEye International, for the pilot newsletter publication in Bethany Dubai.
With her firm grasp of Acts 16:31believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy
house., she is a living testament to this verse which is manifested on bringing thirteen (13) of
her family members to the Lord and by Gods grace, they are now all saved.
As we began exchanging torrent of spiritual discourses, we felt that both of us
were becoming cloistered, shut away from the activities of the world. She
was reassured of her eagerness to the questions I raised. In a jovial tone, I
fixed my gaze as I listened to her all the way. She turnead aside for a
moment, allowing herself to be drawn to an autobiographical outpouring.

A Woman After Gods Own Heart
By Jonas Pimentel
Life Verse:
Psalms 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and
glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Discovering God
Sister Marj was first invited by Sister Mabel last November. She was persistently visited by illness as she desires to attend our church
services. She half closed her eyes as she dredged memories of her first step to the church.
Nakakatawa after kung nagconfirm, nagkasakit ako for few days before ako nakaattend ng church.
Upon receiving Jesus Christ, her perspective on life completely changed as she continually hears Gods messages every Friday. There
seemed to be no guile, no hidden intentions and no prefabricated rhetoric as she shared her personal experience.
Iba
talaga life namin before.
Sister Marj became even more excited in seeking spiritual solace in the church and
presently attending all church services. Praying for the brethren is a selfless act that consoli-
dates her passion to be Christ-like.
Her faith even spilled over to the workplace.
basa ako ng Bible tuwing break time. Ibang peace ang aking nararamdaman kung
nagbubuklat at binabasa ko ang Bible.
Security in Jesus Christ
Her faith in Jesus has transformed and cascaded to the other areas in her life, especially
when it comes to the realm of security, which confounds people who hasnt met Jesus Christ
yet. Among unbelievers, it is a reality that there is an existential insecurity, culture of
materialism and dispirited emptiness. Before her conversion, Sister Marj was anxious almost
about everything. There was a twinge of tormenting worry and spectacle of unexplained
misery that consumed most of her familial life. She was thoughtful for a moment and then
shrugged her shoulders as she continued her testimony about the psychological fatigue of
her life that reached its boundaries.
Ang security na iniisip ko dati ay
papano magkaroon ng magandang
kinabukasan ang anak ko, papaano
siya magkakaroon ng magandang
edukasyon, Iniisip ko rin sa asawa
ko papano na kung tumanda na
kami, hindi na tayo malakas. Iniisip
din naman na magkaroon ng
negosyo kapag hindi na kami
malakas. Iniisip din naming na
magkaroon na tirahan na maayos
Kahit andun na lahat sayo sa
harapan mo, mararamdaman mo
na hindi ka parin secured. Ngayon,
hindi na ako nag-aalala kung
kinabukasan wala na kaming
kakainin kasi God will provide.
Spiritual Goals
Prior to her walk with Jesus Christ, her personal goal was different. It focused more on
mundane and temporal things of this world.
I have all of
those.
Months passed by, Sister Marj has become more focused on fulfilling her goals for the
Lord. Along with her sister Lou Anne, they recently started to sing in the church choir.
Suddenly feeling a wave of melancholy, tears flowed as Sister Marj shared her most
ardent goal for the Lord to date.
After five years, sana lahat
Road Less Travelled
Our conversation led to our transcendent agreement that indeed, Christianity is a long bumpy road less traveled but there is a catch:
the grace of our Lord is sufficient for us to withstand any trials in life.
Sister Marj has an intact integrity in the face of setbacks all by Gods grace. The theory and practice of Christianity is axiomatic in her
life. We both concur that the enemy has dizzying array of tactics to let us circumvent the biggest goal in our Christian life: to fear the
Lord and keep His commandments.
Sister Marj has already found the purpose of her life. It is here, in Bethany Dubai, that she was able to unlock and answer the biggest
mystery that her soul has always sought for. Her contentment in life is well-encompassing to her temperament which can be summed
up on her statement:
Sa ngayon, siksik at umaapaw ang aking kaligayan dahil kay Jesus Christ. Wala na akong mahihiling pa.

Missionary to Timor-Leste
Sister Lili Marie Mendoza
Dear Praying Mission Partners,
The Lord is exalted, for He dwelleth
on high; he hath filled Zion with
judgment and righteousness. And
wisdom and knowledge shall be the
stability of thy times, and strength of
salvation; the fear of the Lord is his
treasure (Isaiah 33: 5& 6).
In times when all kinds of troubles
seemed to hinder Gods work here in
Manatuto, Timor-Leste, He is true in His word. The wisdom and knowl-
edge from His word made the situation here stable. The members
that remained may not have much material possessions but they
considered the fear of the Lord as their precious treasure.
It has been almost two months since our dear missionary, Ferdie
Flores and family left for their much-needed furlough back to the
Philippines. There were few adjustments; however God never
failed to show us that we are serving the Almighty. Ample of my
time was spent teaching specifically to those children who have
difficulty reading even in their own language Tetun and
discipleship of the ladies. It proved to be a challenging task at
first since it entails a lot of patience but the joy to hear them
read their Tetun Bible is marvellous. Discipleship with the
ladies showed to be an equally difficult work because of
some cultural norms but indeed Gods wisdom never failed
to surmount. Please include these precious ladies (Balbina
Correia, Joanina Nunes, Elizita de Jesus, Angelita da Costa,
Juvita Almeida, Domingas Soares, Ana do Rosario and
Maria Martis ) in your prayers that they continue to serve
God faithfully, and may His favour be upon each of these
ladies.
May you remain to be steadfast in your prayers and
financial care, for it really made a great support in the
growing ministry here in Timor-Leste. I sincerely
appreciate your perpetual prayer and financial
support.

Dear Pastor,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We are so blessed with your prayers and support, so that
God's work here growing.
For the whole month of May, God gave us six (6) new
members added to His church. They said they understand
salvation in Jesus and they followed the Lord in water Baptism.
They are now faithful attending our church. Please continue to
pray that God will use them someday.
Prayer request:
1. Please pray for one (1) motor bike for our transportation to do
soul winning in the villages and be used in the church.
2. More members involve do soul winning and serve in the Church.
3. Pray for God's provisions of my trip to Philippines for my second

Dear Pastor Ed Pamintuan and church,
Please allow us to share you about what happened in the last few months.
God has opened door for us to start a new bible study at our students
house. This is a good opportunity to train future leaders and teachers.
Please pray for these young people that theyll get back to their home
with the heart of God to make a difference. Please also pray for Gods
provision as we need to prepare and pay for another one-year house
rental this coming August. Our landlord has increased the price for
the house rental. My family and I, from the bottom of our hearts
would like to express our gratitude to you all for always
remembering us. May the Lord continue to bless and
use you all mightily by His grace and for His glory.
This summer term we are going to take some boys

were busy looking for a place to stay since we separated our house
and the ministry. Also last March, we had our year end awards night
at Bethany Learning Center Saigon (BLCS), the ministry of our
church Bethany Baptist Church Mission Saigon (BBCMS). I praise
God for the mother and son that were added to the church through
this ministry. The mother and son are now faithfully attending church
and serving in the singing group. There some more souls that we are
praying for to be saved and I believe they will be saved at Gods
appointed time. Your prayers and support are not in vain.
In last week of April, we had film showing and Evangelistic meeting and
the brother of Ezekiel came to know the Lord with some other young
people. Praise God for the salvation of souls.
On the first week of May,
my family and the church
workers went to the
province for a mission trip.
We had a great time with the
children there. Bro. Qui (or
Ezekiel), our Bible student
studying in the Philippines
came back during vacation,
teaches the children since last April until June. He is here to minister to his
family and the people in his province. He is going back to the Philippines by
first week of June. While here in VN, he also helped repair their house. His
mother said she wants us to teach more children there. What a blessing to us.
God is working!
Please do pray for the following:
1) New ESL classes that students will be saved and follow the Lord in water
baptism;
2) Protection everyday. My wife, Melanie is practicing how to drive a motorbike
and she had minor accident. Our children are growing and we cannot fit in one
motorbike. I also had minor accident few weeks ago and my feet still swollen until
now. Our staff drive but I am afraid of my wife driving it. Just this evening I saw a
woman hit by motorbikes and she is almost dead;
3) Permit for the language center; and
4) Provision for the setting up of the language center.
Thank you Pastor and church for your continuous prayer and financial support. May
the Lord continue to use you in the area where God placed you.
