Dear Nhan, April 18, 2014

Congratulations on your acceptance to Drexel University. In preparation for your college career we will
be providing you extensive information on financing your education. We believe this is as important to
you and your family as your program of study and key to the pursuit of your career goals. The following
information has been provided for you as a financial planning reference tool presented in sections. Please
review this letter carefully and retain for your records.

Financial Aid Award:
Eligibility for financial aid programs is determined by the completion of the CSS Profile (Drexel code
2194) or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA code 003256). An Expected Family
Contribution (EFC) will be calculated and provided to you and Drexel University directly from the above
processor. Your enclosed award is based on the EFC provided as a result of the completed needs analysis
document. If you have not completed either of these documents your enclosed award provides only
minimal information which will be revised once you complete a FAFSA. FAFSAs for the 2014-2015
academic year can be completed online at fafsa.ed.gov after January 1, 2014.

An e-mail notification will be sent directing you to the Discover Drexel Portal should a revised financial
aid award be available for review. Please keep in mind the eligibility for some loan programs are
dependent on the student and co-signers credit. Therefore it is recommended in preparation for financing
your education that you and your parent/guardian request a current credit report.

Cost of Attendance (COA):
The components of the COA are as follows: tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, board, transportation and
personal expenses. The financial aid funding can be provided up to but cannot exceed the COA. COA is
comprised of direct and indirect expenses. Direct expenses will be charged by Drexel on your eBill (e.g.,
tuition, fees, university housing and meal plan). Indirect expenses do not appear on your eBill from
Drexel but are included in the COA (e.g., off campus housing, meals, transportation, and personal
expenses) and can be paid for using financial aid funds.

Types of Financial Aid:
The following types of awards may appear on your financial aid award. Please visit Drexel Central at
drexel.edu/drexelcentral/finaid to review additional information regarding the terms of these awards.

Drexel Merit Scholarships: These types of awards are considered gift aid and do not need to be repaid.
Merit scholarships pay towards your tuition charges only and may be renewable pending a minimum 2.75
cumulative GPA, and your academic progress and enrollment.

Drexel Incentive Awards: These types of awards are considered gift aid and do not need to be repaid.
Incentive awards pay towards your tuition charges only and may be renewable provided that you maintain
full-time enrollment in your academic program.

Need-Based Grants: These awards are considered gift aid offered based on CSS Profile or FAFSA data
and do not need to be repaid. Need based grants can be funded by the federal government, state agencies
or Drexel and are applied to direct costs.

Loans: These awards are federal need-based and non-need based loans that must be repaid. Federal
student loans can pay towards all elements of the cost of attendance and may be offered in subsequent
years depending upon enrollment, EFC and if renewal FAFSAs are filed in subsequent years.

Transfer Students:
Transfer students at Drexel are eligible for a variety of financial aid programs, including scholarships,
loans, and grants. Transfer students are also eligible for merit-based scholarships. Transfer and part-time
students entering in the winter, spring, or summer term are also required to complete the Transfer Student
Financial Information Application included with your acceptance letter.
International Students:
International students are eligible for non-need-based Drexel financial aid and will be considered for this
aid at the point of admission decision. Because international students who wish to study in the United
States are not eligible for U.S federal and state government financial aid programs, it's important to
research additional sources of funding. See drexel.edu/drexelcentral/finaid/financing.
You are encouraged to review the Drexel Central website at drexel.edu/drexelcentral for more detailed
information on financing your education. You should also check the Discover Drexel Portal at
discover.drexel.edu regularly for information specific to your finances and financial aid. If you have any
questions regarding your financial aid award or next steps, please contact my Drexel Central team at
1.877.DREXEL5 or at ask.drexel.edu.

We wish you much success.

Sincerely,

Alisa Abadinsky
