EXPLORE

You and your group will take on the role of archeologists who
have found the missing treasure chest of a famous explorer. You
want to share your fascinating discovery with the rest of the
world, but first you must convince the board members of your
local museum that the treasure chest is authentic (real). With
your team members, you will investigate a famous explorer then
use your imagination to create the treasure chest that your
archaeological team found.

Your Explorer Treasure Chest will contain the following items:

• A map of the explorer's voyage(s)

• Explorer's journal
• Artifacts
• Tools or resources the explorer used
• A timeline of the major events that occurred during the
explorer's voyage(s)

After completing your treasure chest, you will present it to the

Board Members of the Susan Lindgren Museum of Exploration
(the class) for analysis. They will determine whether or not the
chest and its contents are authentic and deserve worldwide
recognition.
