Major Responsibilities:

1. Managing and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure of two locations Poribagh


and Baridhara of HamidGroup.

2. Managing and maintaining part of the IT infrastructure of rest of the three locations
at Fotullah, Ashulia and Banani. Such as print server configuration and
Troubleshooting, Mail Server (OS: Debian, MTA: Postfix, Client End: Eudora or
Webmail) and Database Server (SQL 2000) Maintenance.

3. Replication between two database servers configured in SQL 2000 at Banani and
Fotullah configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.

4. Monitoring Internet connectivity of five (05) branches up and running.

5. Configuring network equipments such as router, switches e.t.c. Most of the routers
are ZyXEL, LinkSys, D-Link.
6. Providing the overall Data Security, Network equipment Security, Database
Security at Poribagh location of HamidGroup.

7. Database routine backup of the software named REsMa, Landing Software and HR
Management software.

8. Checking the spam email account of HamidGroup. Take necessary steps to catch the
spam and should be directed to this account.

9. Take the accountability of the spam email account and make necessary steps to
reduce the number of spam generated from the network based on that account report.

10. Make sure the Poribagh location Computer Network is virus free and user must not
miss any file from the workstation computer.

11. Take decision how easily the network can be managed and user can find the
quickest support when they required.

12. Providing support for daily user’s problem. Possible problems that solved are as
follows:

a. Printer is not printing.


b. Printer printing but response slows.
c. User cannot connect to printer.
d. User cannot share folder with others and unexpected changes in folder.
e. Webmail is not accessible.
f. Customized software response slow.
g. Incorrect entry and at time report correction in customized software.
h. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Works software problem solving.
i. Bangla font problem faced at time when they transfer over the network.
j. Mail Merge problem with letter, envelop e.t.c.
k. Think about the possible way of user level upgrade. Some of the ways are
1. Providing User’s the Screen shot of the solution for some sort of problem
2. Go to user desk and show him hand practice
3. Provide solution over phone or remotely from the desktop PC.

13. Virtualization of HamidGroup new IT restructuring plan and checking at Virtual


Machine Software. This includes:

1. Windows 2003 Server installation. Configuring Active Directory. Creating


the required users, group, OU (Organizational Unit), site etc.
2. Make sure that user’s are in their appropriate group and appropriate
permission according to the company policy.
3. Making appropriate printer permission.
4. Users in different location must be login to the main domain controller but
appropriate bandwidth and policy should be maintained so that
authentication procedure faster. Universal group membership cashing must
be enabled.
5. Some of the user’s roaming profile configuration but maintaining the
appropriate company policy.
6. Planning, maintaining and configuring appropriate GPO for the
corresponding OU according to the company policy.
7. Active Directory performance monitoring by using the event viewer and
performance and alert logs.
8. Windows Exchange Server 2003 installation and configuring it so that
users can exchange email throughout the internet.
9. Providing the security for the mail server.
10. File Server establishment and make sure users file stored in file server.
