INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN MODEL

The Instructional design model has some important points that we must take into
account. First, instructional technology (IT) referring to the use of technology in order to
improve education. As teachers we should use this important and powerful tool in our
classrooms because it helps in a positive way in the learning process of students. Instructional
technology is not only computers but also, disc, modem, satellite, all things that can support
learning.
On the other hand, it is really important to know about it because in the modern
era wherever you go you find technology and whatever work we do it is with the help of
technology. In fact, in education technology has arrived and it has become very successful when
they use computer, internet and projector. All of these help us to build our knowledge in a
different way. For this reason technology gives you clear ideas about how things work and it
shows in a graphical way, also, it keeps our interest and come forward to study in a new way.
Instructional Technology
Second, instructional design or instructional systems design (ISD) is the
systematic process by which instructional materials are designed, developed and
delivered. There is another important fact, the cognitive load theory and the design of
instruction. The first one describes learning processing system involving long term
memory. On the other hand, cognitive load theory according to the article has evolved
and has begun to be internationally accepted. Also, instructional designers use different
instructional strategies to reduce cognitive load. As an example, they think that on screen
the text should be presented in small meaningful chunks.
Learning design states the use of a wide range of teaching methods in online
learning. However, learning design theory states that learning is an outcome while instructional
theory focuses on income.
The instructional design model has a process that its really important to take into account. For
example:
Analyze : the task has to be learned
Design: we must choose an instructional approach
Develop: we need training materials
Implement: deliver
Evaluate: make sure the materials achieved the desired goals.
In the last place, there is another well know instructional design model the Dick and Carey
systems approach model. This model addresses instruction as an entire system, focusing on
the interrelationship between context, content, learning and instruction.
Instructional Technology
In brief, learning theories play and important role in the design of instructional materials and
if we take into account all these things mention above we will have better result in out
teaching process and we will see the improvements in our students that will be the most
important part because they are part if this new way of teaching called instructional
technology.
