BAM Data Collection
The BAM data are obtained directly from the maintenance console,
and stored in the form of files. The storage period is generally 3 days,
and the default directory for storage is:

The PSMM data must be obtained after the PSMM data tracking
function is started with the following command:
SET PSMMTRACE, The PSMM tracking data is stored in the form
of files, and its default storage path: F:/CDMA2000/Trace/
The PSMM data tracking requires starting of NBR (Neighbor
Optimization Function) and GEO (Geographic Function) tracking.
Nastar can implement the neighbor cell function if NBR (Neighbor
Cell Optimization)
is selected.

RFMT Data Collection
RFMT neighbor cell tracking function:
At one time, it can only track one sector carrier.
The maximum tracking time is 6 hours.
The RFMT data must be obtained after the PSMM data tracking function is
started with the following command: SET RFMT1X
The RFMT neighbor cell tracking data is stored in the SQL Server
database of the BAM server, and the RFMT database on the BAM should
be backed up, and imported directly with the Nastar tool.

The Nastar tool can analyze multiple types of interference data, and the common
interference data include: BTS interference data and broadband interference
scanning data. The former is used to analyze the forward and reverse paths
analysis function (except for the reverse paths spectrum play function) while the
latter to analyze the reverse paths spectrum play function.
The data tracking command must be started to obtain the BTS interference data
for analysis. Different BTS models have different tracking commands. They are:
3612: STR BTSITFLOGTHD
3606: STR CBTSITFLOGTHD
3601: STR MBTSITFLOGTHD

The broadband interference scanning data is used for analyzing the reverse
Paths spectrum play function. Different BTS models have different tracking
commands. They are:

CDR: Call Detailed Record
To obtain the CDR data, enable the CDR filter switch on the maintenance
console with the following command:
MOD CDRFILTER
Set the frame No. and the call release type of the data to be tracked. After
the filter switch is enabled, save the reported data to
F:\CDMA2000\TRACE\CDR of the BAM server in real time if there is any
CDR data at the foreground that is to be reported.

Select a correct version No., language, directory for saving the engineering
files, project name and description, and click OK to complete.
While a project is established, MSC is automatically generated;
After the Nastar CDMA Transdata tool is started, a new project and BSC
must be established before data import. The specific procedure for
project establishment is shown in the figure below:

PSMM Data Import
The configuration data must be imported
before the PSMM data. After selecting
the project and BSC, select PSMM data,
and then select the PSMM data import in
the task list.

imported in the dialog box, and input
EcIo Threshold, and click OK to import
the neighbor cell tracking data.
Note: This threshold value should be kept
consistent with the Ec/Io threshold value set
by users upon starting the PSMM tracking.

Import Engineering Parameters:
Select a project node, and right click Import engineering parameter, to display the
following task list dialog box, and then select the BSC to be imported in the task list;
click OK.

Key Field: Key field, the fields (Longitude,
Latitude, CellID, SectorID, Azimuth) must be
matched, or else, the engineering
parameters cannot be imported;
Optional Field: Optional matched field
Auto Match: Automatic matching; the Nastar
tool matches some fields automatically. In
general, the key fields can be matched if
there is no error in the naming of fields in the
Excel table.
Cancel All Match: Cancel all the matches
Cancel Current Match: Cancel the matched
fields.
Upon importing engineering parameters, some fields must be matched, or
else, such import will not take effective; right click Please match to show the

This function is to analyze the forward/reverse channel monitoring
data of BTS to locate the forward/reverse channel faults. It is
integrated on the basis of the original interference and capacity
analysis function, with the forward channel detection function added.
This function can locate the faults of a specific device of the
forward/reverse channel.
The functions of the forward/reverse channel are relatively easy. Here
is a description of spectrum scanning function.

Idea for Analyzing the Forward and Reverse Paths Analysis Functions
The idea for analyzing the forward/reverse channel is find the BTS
carriers with the poorest index from the result of data ranking, and
analyze as to whether their forward/reverse channel data are within
the normal range. If there is any exception in the forward/reverse
channel of BTS, it can judge the fault points according to the spots on
which the exceptional data appear.

Function of Reverse Paths Spectrum Play
reverse interference spectrum scanning review function is to dynamically
review the spectrum data output by the reverse broadband interference
data reported by the BTS. This function is analyzing interferences partially
taking the place of the frequency spectrograph, and it has the basic
features of the universal frequency spectrograph.
The Interference Analysis of the Nastar tool provides two spectrum
analysis function:
1. Spectrum scan: Spectrum scanning function analysis: review the data
within the tracking time periods, to really reflect the waveform of the
received signals;
2. Spectrum stat: Spectrum projection: It is to project the data within the
tracking time periods, and the minimum receiving level serves as the
reference value to reflect the rising of RSSI and judge if there is any
exceptional signal level.

This function is based on the call history record of CHR, to analyze call
establishment failure and call drop at a finer granularity, and trace back
and locate the connection failure or call drop of the whole network, areas,
carriers and VIP users.
Make a more detailed analysis on the cause of wireless link failure: locate
the failed wireless links (failed forward/reverse links), and further analyze
the possible cause for failure combining different features and events of
the forward/reverse link failure: coverage, handover, interference,
parameter configuration, etc.
Call Drop and Proceeding Failure Analysis are similar. In this case, we
take call drop for example to describe the operation of these functions.
