The goal of eating this way is to promote change through the removal of foods that are, in any possible way, inflammatory. If you cheat you are only making this process slower. As you know, you have made a financial investment in your health and this is where that investment pays off. Its important to shop for quality food at butchers shops, farmers markets, fish markets and natural food stores. The worst foods to cheat with are going to be Gluten !heat, "arley, #ye, $alt, %pelt&, 'airy and %oy proteins. I typically will start adding foods back once we notice a significant change in your symptoms. This occurs in ()* weeks in healthier people and ()* months in sicker people. Always have a carbohydrate, fat and protein with each meal. (. ,at twice as many vegetables as fruit over the course of the day. #aw vegetables are best if you want to lose weight. 1. #emember that eating this way will be new and sometimes a challenge to achieve. 2reparing single servings of food that can be fro3en will save you from having to cook meals when life gets busy. -. 2repare large batches of staples like spaghetti sauce and soups for free3ing in single serve containers. I may not let you eat tomatoes right away so keep that in mind. This is where you will get most of your really good minerals and vitamins. 6ocus on what is in season. 2ass on veggies in cans. <ale is a versatile lettuce that works well in salads, saut=s and soups and is your best choice for nutrition. %weet potatoes are okay but skip the white ones. Avoid rice but try >uinoa. It is a grain with a nutty flavor and works well as a substitute for rice and potatoes. %paghetti squash is a staple for us. Always keep spaghetti sauce available for a quick meal. Add different meats each time for variety. ?. %alads5 7hoose dark green leafy lettuces like kale, spinach or spring mi@. Avoid iceberg altogether. Ase many different vegetables in your salads and always top with some sort of protein. Grilled chicken, fish, beef, shrimp are some of our favorites.
