1 Version Upgrading &vervie"
This document is the guide to the u'dating of software versions of the iSite 3!C,.
The u'grading of versions includes some or all of the following software: "$8# software,
1.# software and "-S# software.
"$8# software: "omudown.+in>
1.# software: 1rudown.+in>
"-S# software: "asudown.+in.
-s for the listed software a+ove, "$8# software and 1.# software must +e u'graded. But
whether or not u'grade "-S# software will de'end on the current running "-S# software version.
"f the running "-S# software version is G3BTS36)30000)03)0,+0 or later version, the "-S#
software is not necessary to +e u'graded.
The u'grading of the software has two ste's: ?downloading@ and ?activation@. ?1ownloading@
is to download the software to the "$8# +oard. ?-ctivation@, as for the "$8# software, is to
activate the new software> +ut to 1.# and "-S# software, ?activation@ is to download the
corres'onding software to the +oard and activate it.

3 Guide to Versions upgrading
The modules need +e u'graded are listed +elow:

Sections 3, :, and 6 s'ecify the u'grading 'rocess of "$8#, 1.# and "-S# software.
Please refer to 0uide to BTS de'loyment $'eration for the u'grading method of commissioning
site version.

%. Connect the com'uter and "$8# +oard with the .S2!3! correctly, start 88" (man2
machine interface* 'rogram and select the communication rate to 3C:>
!. Select menu ?#ser ; login@, and login with user name ?omc@ and 'assword ?omc@.
3. 1ou+le clic< functional menu ?Site 8anagement .ight@ under ?site@ o+7ect, and get the site
management right.
:. 1ou+le clic< functional menu ?)orced Software Load@ under ?site@ o+7ect, and +rowse the
correct file to +e u'graded (note: it should +e full file name, including the 'ath* in the ?)ile name@
edit +oD, and select ?:9@ in ?Send ,indow SiEe@, in'ut ?/rror: .eference source not found@ in
?5ersion@ +oD. Select the ?)ile "1@ "$8#F8-"4, clic< ?start@ to download the software. - 'rogress
+ar will 'o' u' indicating the current downloading 'rocess. "f the download 'rocess finishes with
%G, and the status +ar shows that the downloading is down successfully, 'lease clic< ?/Dit@ to
end the downloading 'rocess.
4ote: "f the downloading is interru'ted with the status +ar noting ?Load software failed:
Software version 4o. error@. The reason for that is that the version num+er in the ?5ersion
num+er@ window is not consistent with that of the actual software. Please rechec< and try again.
6. 1ou+le clic< functional menu ?Software activate@ under ?site@ o+7ect, and activate the
newly downloaded software. 4otice: the in'ut software version num+er should +e the same as
that of the downloaded software. Select the file "1 "$8#F8-"4 and it is not necessary to in'ut
the +oard num+er as for "$8# software. Please ensure that the in'ut is correct and clic< ?$H@.
The status +ar will note that the software activation is ac<nowledged. Clic< ?Close@ and eDit the
activate windows.
4ote: it will ta<e "$8# a few minutes to run normally, 'lease wait 'atiently.
&. 1ou+le clic< ?Board 8anagement@ under ?B$-.1@ o+7ect, it will show the states of the
current +oards. "f the status +ar of the +oard o'eration dialog +oD shows ?Start +oard re'ort
failed, communication failed@, which means that the site is not wor<ing 'ro'erly. ,ait until it
shows ?Board re'orts message@, and each +oard status is normal. .ight clic< "$8# +oard and
select ?Board information@, and see whether the software version is the same as that of the 7ust
activated "$8#. "f they are the same, it means that the u'grading is successful.
3. -fter u'grading, 'lease dou+le clic< functional menu ?Site management right@ under ?Site@
o+7ect, and release it.

the Software Serial 4o com+o +oD. Be sure to in'ut the full fill name including 'ath in the
Software 4ame edit +oD.

4ote: "t will ta<e you a few minutes for the 'rogram to finish u'dating the ta+les, 7ust wait a
little while to see the result. "f everything is o<, there will +e a 'o'u' window showing ?Succeed in
dynamic setting host@.

8odify BSC data, and add the corres'onding record in ?1escri'tion list of the software
configuration@
-dd 03BTS3&53&.3C% version of "$8# software, with the corres'onding loading
version num+er: ?3&.3.!.C!@. The contents of the newly added software configuration
record are listed +elow:

4ote: Besides the items for descri'tion, other items should +e in'ut correctly, or the version
u'grading may +e unsuccessful.
)inish the modification and ma<e sure there is no error, clic< the right <ey in the ta+le, and
set the whole ta+le. Send the modification to the corres'onding module, until it shows that
?Succeed in setting the whole ta+le@.
:. Start the remote maintenance console of the BTS. 1ou+le clic< ?)orced Software Load@
under ?Site@ o+7ect, the records of different versions to +e u'graded in BSC ?1escri'tion list of
the software configuration@ will show u'. Select the correct version and clic< ?load@ to start
downloading. ,hen the download 'rocess is %G in the 'o'u' window, the current state
shows: Software downloading is successful. Clic< ?Close@ and eDit the dialog +oD. The software
downloading ends successful.
4ote: -fter selecting the software version to +e u'graded and clic<ing ?load@, if the status +ar
shows ?Software loading fails, chec< if there is error in the corres'onding software version@, there
are two 'ossi+le reasons for that: %. There is error in the items of the added record in ta+le
?1escri'tion list of the software configuration@, which mismatches with the real file version> !.-fter
adding record in ?1escri'tion list of the software configuration@, the whole ta+le is not set and
sent to the corres'onding modules.
"f the status +ar shows ?Software loading fails, and there is no file in the target 'lace@, the
'ossi+le reason for that is the file name is not correct in the ta+le.
6. 1ou+le clic< ?Software activate@ under ?S"T/@ o+7ect, and select the version software to +e
u'graded. Clic< ?-c<nowledgement@ and activate the software. -fter the software is activated, a
dialog +oD of site initialiEation will show u'. 1ou+le clic< ?Board management@ under ?B$-.1@
o+7ect after the site initialiEation is successful and right clic< "$8# +oard to chec< the +oard
information. "f the software version is306R007.2000.0820, the u'grading succeeds.
4ote: "f it shows ?-ctivating re=uest fails, and the management states are not in
accordance@, the reason is that the local maintenance termination of the +ase station has got the
management right and has not released it.

software loading 'rocess, and you can eDit the o'eration interface..
