RADON ZR Race 29er 6.

1 SL

Due to the extraordinary demand for our 29er models, we have added the ZR Race 29
6.1 SL to this seasons line-up.
ZR Race 29er 6.1 SL
Although we equipped the ZR Race 29 6.1 with a Fox Float 32 CTD fork featuring open
cartridge suspension, we were able to offer this bike for 1099. The all new Race 29er
comes along with a wide range of high quality components. It starts with the Shimano
groupset as a mix of XT and SLX. The Avid Elixir 1 gives you a maximum of safety as well
as the race proven Syntace components.
There cant be any doubt these days that due to their larger diameter, the big wheelers
have a better way of riding through holes and across obstacles on the ground. This can
be felt especially when riding a hardtail. Also, stability and speed are better than with
26" MTBs especially on fast downhill passages. Since the position of the hubs is higher
in relation to standard MTBs, you are sitting deeper within the bike, and the bigger
tyre diameter means a larger part of the tyre has contact with the ground at all times.
Not a surprise therefore that Radons 29ers have become an instant success with the
29er crowd!
As with the 26 ZR Race frame, a much better weight-stiffness ratio has been
accomplished through the use of octagonal tubes with internally routed cables,
especially the edgy, enormously stiff down tube already known from our Skeen
models. For the sake of better looks and better load-bearing capacity, the tubes are
being connected in a smooth welding process: Two welding seams are laid out instead
of one, and they are subsequently smoothed over with emery cloth. Smooth-weld
seams are significantly more elegant-looking, but they also have a technical advantage
as they help to avoid notching effect: Mechanically speaking, the edges of regular
seams constitute a negative notch, which is practically being removed through the
rounding at the junction between tube and welding seam. Our chief engineer Bodo
Probst (himself over 6 ft tall) has spent a long time working on that geometry. The
outcome of which being a frame with a rather short headtube, short chainstays and
"high direct mount" front derailleur support.
The geometry has been redesigned and slightly stretched to better accommodate the
racing crowd, and at the same time, a 27.2 seat tube has been introduced to increase
comfort.
The pedals shown are not included with the delivery!
Note: The 22 inch model comes with white brake system (brake lever and caliper)!
