Flight Information
The accuracy and currency of information contained in this guide is uncertain due to the difficulty in obtaining the information and the rapidly changing environment. Aviators should always check with a country's aviation authority or a local aviation handler to determine any specific aircraft airworthiness/equipment and crew/passenger entry requirements.

Entry/Exit Requirements
Entry and exit requirements are for aircraft departing the United States non-stop to country of destination. These requirements do not include any technical stops. Please refer to Technical Stop section in Additional Information for the country at which the technical stop will be made.
Entry and Exit documentation forms vary from country to country. In general, however, ICAO member countries will accept the following standard ICAO Annex 9 Entry/Exit documents:
General Declaration Passenger Manifest Cargo Manifest Embarkation/Disembarkation Card Certificate of Residual Disinsection
Examples of these documents can be found at IFIM Home>General Information>International Flying Overview> ICAO Annex 9 Entry/Exit Documents. The acceptance of these ICAO documents must be confirmed by the appropriate AIS.
Entry Requirements (Departing the U.S.)
File an eAPIS manifest outbound (recommend inbound at this time, too) File and activate international flight plan Land at a designated airport of entry (AOE) customs and immigration
The following entry documents are required:
Passengers
Passport Visa - not required for U.S. citizens for visit of less than 3 months Embarkation/Disembarkation Card Vaccination Certificate - only required when coming from an infected area of cholera, smallpox or yellow fever.
Crew Same as passengers

Additional Flight Information
Ai rcraft Instruments and Equipment
U.S. airworthiness and certification requirements may not meet other country requirements. It is the responsibility of the pilot to determine if the aircraft meets those requirements.
The items listed below are for the pilots reference to determine if the aircraft meets the minimum instrument and equipment requirements of the destination country. Additional equipment may be required to comply with the airspace navigation requirements.
Mode A and C transponder - except in class G
Aircraft flying in Uruguay must comply with the provisions of the Rules of Civil Aviation of the Repblica Oriental del Uruguay, and the standards and recommended practices of ICAO.

Technical Stop/Overflight
Non-scheduled flights:
Operators must obtain permission, in advance, from the Direccin General de Aviacin Civil (see Designated Authorities) to overfly or make a technical stop. The application must be filed in time for the flight, and should be addressed to the following address:

Private flights:
A flight plan is considered adequate advance notification of arrival for overflight or landing for all ICAO member aircraft registrations.

Non-scheduled Flights (Charters)
Operators must obtain permission, in advance, from the Direccin General de Aviacin Civil (see Designated Authorities) to carry out a flight or series of flights
Private Flights
A flight plan is considered adequate advance notification of arrival for overflight or landing for all ICAO member aircraft registrations.
Float Planes
The IFIM Staff is not aware of any Float Plane requirements or restrictions.
Light Sport Aircraft
The IFIM Staff is not aware of any Light Sport Aircraft requirements or restrictions.
Fees
Users should anticipate varying fees for landing (based on maximum take-off weight), parking, hangar use, embarkation service, service of aeronautical information, air navigation and various airport surcharges. Contact Airport Services (see Designated Authorities) for details
Fuel
SUCM and SUCA do not have fuel available. SUAA and SUPU only have Avgas. The remaining AOEs have J et A1 and Avgas available.
Night VFR
VFR flights will operate from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset. Within the control areas nocturnal VFR flights are permitted.

Country Specific Travel Information
Public Health Requirements
Aircraft No public health measures applied to aircraft entering Uruguay with the following exception: Aircraft arriving from infected areas can land at any international airport in Uruguay, where it is disinsected on arrival by the local Health Authority. The aircraft must keep doors and windows closed, as well as ventilation systems, until the disinsecting has expired.

Pets
All animals entering the country must be accompanied by a certificate issued by the origin Official Ministry or the appropriate office and approved by the Uruguayan Consul accredited there. This certificate must be submitted at the time of landing and when requested. Dogs and cats require rabies vaccine whose duration shall not exceed 1 year or less than 15 days after application. In the case of the importation of dogs, when accompanied by the "pedigree", this too shall come stamped by the Consul of Uruguay. [Sic] 15-May-2014 / UY 9
