About the Author
Rich Armstrong run the blog Rich-armstrong.com. is aim is to share obser!ations that
ha!e been ma"e through his life #ourney so that they might be of benefit to others. The
ultimate goal of his $ritings is to hel% others create a greater un"erstan"ing of themsel!es
an" the $orl" aroun" us by the a$areness an" integration of uni!ersal %rinci%les.

Throughout our $orl" an", in"ee", the entire universe all is governed by two polar
opposite forces. These forces are namely Linear and Lateral Consciousness.

The %re!ious sentence can also be re"uce" to the follo$ing statement& Time and
Timelessness.

When all the layers of the onion are %eele" a$ay, this is $hat $e $ill fin". Linear and
Lateral Consciousness are expressions of opposing forces of time. 'n fact $e coul"
actually say that humans are mere e(%ressions of time.

Linear Consciousness is the time that most %eo%le recogni)e* it is the
sequential; it is a period of time that is added to the previous period of time in a
linear precise order that dictates our "future" organization. t is !ewtonian in
outloo"# total causality and effect.

Lateral is non$ linear* it is the o%%osite. 't "oes not +a"" on+ to the last
%erio" of time sim%ly because it is timeless. 't is an" al$ays $as, an" al$ays $ill be.
t has pushed into the three dimensions of space simultaneously# no time
sequence lapsed in doing so. t is pure timelessness.

We ha!e all e(%erience" timelessness; it is called intuition. ntuition is the gut
response to any given situation.

t is the as"ing of a question and the receiving of an answer simultaneously# pure
timeless and beyond explanation. This is actually uni!ersal "efault lateral
consciousness. t can be tapped into at any time if need be# %ust by trusting
gut instinct.

These t$o forces of time battle $ithin each an" e!ery %erson. ,!erybo"y has both forces
$ithin them an" e!ery %erson has these t$o forces to a%%ease $hich they "o through
fulfilling the nee" for significance an" lo!e.

&ignificance fulfills the demand from Linear Consciousness; Love
fulfills the demand from Lateral Consciousness. 'ach comes with its
own motive( the motive of fear being Linear Consciousness and the
motive of love being Lateral Consciousness.

The two forces of time actually shape our minds and also our bodies.

Again, it is the balancing of the t$o o%%osing forces that bring %hysical an" mental $ell-
being in life.

-inear .onsciousness is essentially conscious ego min" that li!es in fear of ego "eath.

A %erson e(%ressing -inear .onsciousness is more associate" to themsel!es an" their
ego* unbekno$nst to themsel!es, they ha!e a higher le!el of tension "ee% at the core that
may not be rea"ily !isible on the surface.

This +tension+ is akin to a %iece of string being %ulle" tightly, as the string becomes
straighter it becomes tenser. ol" the thought of that string in your min", for that is $hat
ha%%ens to the %erson $ho is moti!ate" by fear.

They can become tense# rigid# inflexible and controlling.

This is the e(%ression of fear base" thinking that has been in"uce" by the "ominance of
future uncertainty. This tension causes an(iety, $hich sets the internal clock s%ee" of the
in"i!i"ual to a faster %ace. This internal clock is actually the metabolic rate of the
in"i!i"ual.

The close association to future uncertainty sets the metabolic rate to a higher setting.
-inear .onsciousness e(%resses itself as +lean to slim+ mor%hic %rofile, $hat $e $ill
"escribe as +straight+ in %rofile. This is also reflecte" in thinking, $hich is also straight
an" "irect, sometimes rigi" an" infle(ible.

Control is "ey to Linear Consciousness - control of mo!ement /internal

Linear Consciousness is defined by time and space and consumption of
energy.
Linear Consciousness is distant .space/ by nature and will always create
time for itself.
't stan"s alone from the cro$" in its o$n time an" s%ace. 't is i"entifie" as in"i!i"ual.

Lateral Consciousness is almost sub*super consciousness# deemed as
default consciousness# far less individually identified# even to the point
of non $ identity.

As such, it is more sacrificial by nature as the death of ego is less feared and held in
less value# more willing to lose owing to a less association to self# and a greater
association to universal default consciousness.

-eople who "eep a closer association to Lateral Consciousness have a
"nowing about themselves and their relationships with )other 'arth#
the 0niverse and all within it# that transcends science and description.
Lateral Consciousness only avails itself to those who express the motive
of love.

+or those whose motive is fear are on a frequency that simply struggles to respond
to universal stimuli.

Lateral Consciousness is less concerned with control as aforementioned.

There is a timeless in!isible +kno$ing+ of the innate relationship between the being
and universal forces beyond their control# and trust and faith in the relationship is
intrinsic.

1ecause of this +non-linear+ relationshi% that, $ith the best $ill in the $orl", is
in"escribable, the people who express Lateral Consciousness are far more
relaxed by nature# so the expression in bodily form is also more relaxed.
"Lateral" spread is created# which is in contrast to the "straight" tense
Linear Consciousness.

-ateral .onsciousness alrea"y kno$s that this sub*super conscious relationship to the
universe is generous# and so the first primary question that goes through the mind of
a lateral is(
"1ow may be of service2"
-ateral consciousness is sacrificial by nature almost li"e an ambassador for the
universe# if you $ill* it is flexible in approach and does not see" to control.

Time and space warp around Lateral Consciousness much li"e
'instein3s theory of past and future being simultaneous and beyond
reason. There is more certainty about people who express the motive of
love. 4on3t as" me to explain why; it %ust is.

Ask anybo"y $ho has fallen hea" o!er heels in lo!e. Their fear is totally evaporated.
The motive of love is the pure %oy of being alive# being in love with life and all within
it.

1owever Lateral Consciousness is vulnerable to Linear fear$based
predation because of the naturally open$hearted demeanor and less
budgetary allowance for defence than in the Linear Conscious.

The natural inclination of the Lateral is to give their energy away to
others all too readily# which means that if energy is given away then
mass must be given in return# because the universe abhors a vacuum.
