B!ADED, P$INTED $R B!UNT %EAP$NS, AND #$R $TER PURP$SES,
AMENDING #$R TE PURP$SE PRESIDENTIA! DECREE NUMBERED
NINE.
Se&'(o) 1. Paragraph three of Presidential Decree Numbered Nine is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"3. It is unlawful to carry outside of one's residence any bladed, pointed or blunt
weapon such as "nife", "spear", "pana", "dagger", "bolo", "barong", "ris", or
"chao", e!cept where such articles are being used as necessary tools or
implements to earn a li"elihood or in pursuit of a lawful acti"ity. #ny person found
guilty thereof shall suffer the penalty of imprisonment of not less than one month
nor more than one year or a fine of not less than $wo %undred Pesos nor more
than $wo $housand Pesos, or both such imprisonment and fine as the &ourt may
direct."
Se&'(o) 2. #rticle twenty'two of the (e"ised Penal &ode shall apply to persons
pre"iously con"icted under paragraph three of Presidential Decree Numbered
Nine.
Se&'(o) *. #ny law or ordinance which is inconsistent herewith is hereby
