Codex Imperial Guard Update

This document is meant to allow players with


newer models to use them when playing 2nd
edition Warhammer 40,000.
Due to post 2nd edition weapon availability you
will need to add the following to the wargear list
on page 7 of !ode" #mperial $uard%

,ny #nfantry +.uad, !ommand +.uad, (eavy
Weapons +.uad, *ough *ider or +torm Trooper
+.uad may carry a vo"0caster. The model carrying
it must not be carrying a heavy or special weapon.
#f a !ommand (- or !ommand +.uad has a
comm0lin1 then one s.uad 3per turn, per 4fficer5
that has a vo"0caster may use the 6eadership value
of the 4fficer, no matter where they are located on
the battlefield.
Demolition !harge
, demo charge is a one shot thrown e"plosive, and
follows the normal grenade throwing procedures.
4nce thrown replace the model with one armed
with a lasgun. #t has the same profile as a standard
battlecannon shell.

This award is one of the highest honours that can
be won by all ran1s in the #mperial $uard.
Whatever the original status of the bearer he will
use the same profile as a !olonel. (e will continue
in his original role, but with better characteristics.
7acharian !ross 3*are, &0 points5
The !ross is awarded to 4fficers in recognition of
innovative and successful tactical thin1ing. ,fter
deployment has finished, but before deciding who
has first turn, any one ?attle 6ine s.uad 3including
it@s transport, if any5 within </ of the officer may be
redeployed up to &2/. #t must still abide by the
mission@s deployment Aone rules.
7edallion !rimson 3*are, & points5
This medal is awarded to men who have suffered
the most horrific inBuries and have not lost their
faith in the 9mperor. #t ta1es a lot to stop a man
who has earned this medal. The first time the
bearer is wounded by an attac1 that causes
variable damage he ta1es a single wound instead.

This is something a character carries into battle to
show his disregard for the enemy, such as a
swagger stic1, nonchalantly smo1ed cigar,
flamboyant cape etc. *eassured by his presence, a
unit led by a character with this item may re0roll a
failed brea1 test. (owever, if the character is slain
the unit must ta1e a brea1 test unless they have
already done so that turn.

2ehicles often carry rolls of camouflage netting
that can be unrolled to help hide the vehicle.
, vehicle with camo netting may begin the game in
hiding, provided it is in or behind concealing
terrain and is stationary.

Trac1 guards protect the vulnerable trac1
mechanism of an armoured vehicle. , vehicle with
trac1 guards increases the armour value of its
trac1s by =2.

The s.uad counts as a psy1er in the same way as
$rey Enights, with a mastery level of & for every >
psy1er models in the s.uad. ,s a psy1er can@t have
more powers than his mastery level, if the s.uad
loses members you will need to randomly choose
a psychic power to discard.
#f the Daemonic ,ttac1 card is played on the
s.uad, the overseer will summarily e"ecute &d>
members of the s.uad instead, and the card is
ignored.
They may choose powers from the ,deptus dec1.
