The fabric youll be working on is Charles Craft 14 ct Aida.

Use an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric stretched
tight while working, but be sure to remove the hoop when
youre not so you dont get hoop marks.
The threads you will be working with are DMC Color
Variations Embroidery Floss and DMC Cotton Embroidery
Floss. The key on your Design Chart will tell you the
number of strands to work with and what colors to use.
Each skein of DMC Color Variations is a combination of
DMC Embroidery Floss colors. You can create beautiful
designs with colors that compliment one another perfectly, by combining Color Variations threads with the solid
colors that make up that particular Variations skein. This
is ideal for samplers as well as mini motifs and borders.
Color Variations is designed to be stitched using any
cross stitch technique, its color combinations will
always show.
You can stitch the way you like best:
1) or a more blended look use the most common crossF
stitch technique; half crosses in one direction (/ / /) and
then the other half back (\ \ \),
2) r for a more contrasted look stitch one complete cross
o
at a time : (X X X).
