IMPORTS:
Negotiation & Comparison of Ocean/Air Freight Rates of various Freight
Forwarders/Liners for finalizing the Freight Rates in case of FOB/Exworks
Shipments.
Supportive in finalizing Transportation Rates, Custom Clearance Rates, etc. for
every calendar year.
Initiating PNR (Public Notice Register) movement of containers to Container
Freight Stations (CFS) through Liners/Freight Forwarders depending upon
production requirement for the purpose of customs duty protraction.
Coordinating with CFSs for the movement and storage of duty paid containers to
CFSs during the times of excessive inventories.
Periodic review of overheads such as Cargo Demurrage Charges (Air/Sea),
Container Detention Charges and reporting the same to the management.
Coordinate with the C&F company in meeting targets set by the company.
Movement of containers/goods from Chennai port/Air port to factory to support
the production.
Forecasting the imports for the subsequent years and calculating the cost involved
for the imports.
Planning the budget required for importing the components and other materials
that are used for production of cars at the start of each financial year.


Implementation of Import SAP system a part of MM module to facilitate the
Import Activities.
Processing of Vendor Payments in SAP-Accounts Payable and follow up with the
Accounts department for effecting the payment within the credit period.
Item wise calculation of landed cost (LDC) for the imported items and reporting
the same to Vendor Development (VD) team for purpose of localization of parts.
Processing the import documents and calculating the custom duties based on the
classification of the material under Customs Tariff Heading.

Training Pursued

EXPORTS:

Arranging Freight & Insurance for containerized export of CKD, CBU & Spare Parts.
Obtaining GSP (Generalized System of Preferences) certificate for the cars
exported to European Countries.
