In chapter 2 some important topics of business strategy and Hrd were discussed.

From that
discussion we learned about strategic planning, competitive strategy mission, strategy,
technology, structure relationship. We also know about strategy development at different,
strategy and training.
Strategic planning is a process for determine the best way to capture the organizations meeting
the demands of the organizations environment in the near. The productive strategy is more
formalized and long term focuses and at typically involve in sophisticated analytical and decision
, making tools and a reactive strategy is less formal and give more attention to immediate future.
Strategic planning is very important it helps to fulfill the organizations short term and long term
expectations.
Competitive strategy is worked for the internal and external choices of the company. It means
give the companys productive more focuses among the competitive product in the market place.
There are two competitive strategies.
Market leader (differentiation): market leaders are the innovators. They invent quality product
which are new and they can use multiples technologies capable of being used in many different
ways.
Cost leader: in this strategy they emphasis on low cost product. They are not emphasis on quality
but they give emphasis on low cost.
Mission, strategy, technology structure relationship. Mission is a process of why organization
exit and the local point for strategy development when company has chosen the competitive
strategy (external) it align the internal environment with strategy and it become more flexible.
There are two key factors of internal strategy.
1. Core technology: the process of creating principle products or services.
2. Structure: division of labor, policies and procedures.
In the relationship the environment influences both directions become the choice of competitive
strategy may change the environment where forms operate.
Organization development is a superior authority which approves the decisions taken by the
HRD. OD worked with both training and non training people. Od is more planned and it worked
with organization wide, managed from the top, income organization effectiveness and health, we
behavioral science and planned for interventions in the organizations process.
There are three basic components of OD
1. Diagnosis
2. Action
3. Program Management
The trainers need od competencies became of planned change. They try to change the KSA in a
planning way. The od professionals need training competencies become od people deal with both
training and non-training need workers. They should know about training. If they dont know
about training they cant give proper training to the employees. But both trainees and od work
together for the better performance of the company.
