1. Employees are eligible to a maximum of total 37 Leaves in a Calendar year.

2. Employees will be entitled to 15 paid leave in every calendar year. If employee has
been unable to take all the paid leaves by the end of the calendar year, he/she may
carry forward the un-availed paid leave to the following year. Employee should first
take and use up the carried over leaves before taking the current year paid leaves.
The carried over leaves could not be carried forward for more than one calendar year.
Any un-availed carried over leaves will be forfeited after December 31 of the next
year.
[Note: As an onetime event, company will allow employees who had a paid leave
balance in excess of 15 as of January 1, 2008 to maintain that leave balance as the
maximum allowable leave balance instead of 15.]
3. Employees are also entitled to 12 days of casual / sick leave in a year. Casual / Sick
leave cannot be carried forward. Such leave balance, if any, at the end of the calendar
year will automatically lapse.
4. The maximum leaves a person can take in a year will be 27 leaves, excluding
preferred leaves but including unpaid leaves if any. However, as an exception
employees who have a leave balance greater than 27 can avail leaves over 27 subject
to an approval from the Manager.
5. In addition to the above, employees will be entitled to 10 public (preferred) holidays in
every calendar year as may be notified by the Company. In order to avail the holiday
entitlement, employee must agree your holidays dates in each calendar year in
advance with the Company and in no event, later than 15th January every year.
Preferred leaves lapse at the end of each calendar year. Employees joining after the
10th of a particular month are not entitled to the preferred holidays for the month.
6. Employees who are serving Notice Period are not entitled to take any leaves during
the Notice Period.
7. Upon termination of Employment (resignation), employee shall be entitled to receive
the basic salary portion of the Cost To Company in lieu of any accrued but unutilized
planned (paid) leave balance. Casual leaves and compensatory offs will automatically
lapse upon termination of employment and will not be en-cashed. However, if the
employee has taken holiday or casual leave in excess of entitlement, the Company
may at its sole and absolute discretion deduct a sum equivalent to the basic salary
portion of the CTC due for each day of absence in excess of the holiday or casual
leave entitlement.

Leaves Description
Maternity Leave Female employees are entitled to a maternity leave of up to a maximum of
twelve weeks, provided the employee has been with the company for at
least 80 days from the commencement of the maternity leave. The
employee needs to submit her medical certificate for the same. Such leave
needs to be approved by Manager in advance. Employee can start taking
the leave six weeks from the date of delivery.
Paternity Leave All male permanent employees are eligible for a paternity leave of 3 days.
The employee has to avail this within the first month after the childs birth.
Compensatory Offs a. Any employee working on a chosen public (preferred) holiday and
Sundays is entitled to a compensatory off in lieu of this.

b. Employees, except at the designation of AVP and above, who work
more than two Saturdays in a calendar month will be entitled to
compensatory-offs on incremental Saturdays.

c. All compensatory- offs need to be approved by the Manager.

d. Compensatory Offs cannot be carried forward. Such leave balance, if
any, will automatically lapse at the end of the calendar year.

e. Employees at the designation of AVP and above will be entitled to
Compensatory Offs only in lieu of working on a chosen public (preferred)
holiday.


Half day Leaves For a half-day to be approved, an employee needs to work at least 4
consecutive hours and a maximum of 6 productive hours. The employee
needs to get a half-day leaves required approval from the Manager in
advance.

CFA Leaves All USA CFA aspirants are entitled to 7 working days of leave provided that
they have sufficient leave balance, to appear for each level of the CFA
examination. Employees who are appearing for the same level more than
once will not be entitled for CFA leaves. Non-company sponsored
aspirants would be required to submit proof for CFA.
Unpaid leaves Any leave taken over and above accrued leaves will be treated as Unpaid
Leave. Employees are not entitled to accumulate leaves while they are on
unpaid leaves.

Sick Leave Any leave taken by employee for illness, sickness or injury will be deducted
from their casual / sick leave entitlement.

If the employee is absent from work due to illness, sickness or injury for a
period exceeding 3 days, he/she must provide a medical certificate
certifying such illness, sickness or injury to the Company.

If employee are absent from work for any reason unless authorized by the
Company and excluding public holidays notified by the Company for a
period of 3 working days or more, in any period of twelve months, the
Company may at its sole and absolute discretion, terminate employees
employment at any time by written notice to take effect from the date
specified in such notice.

Long Leaves Any employee taking leave beyond 1 week will be considered under long
leave.

All long leaves needs to be approved by the Manager and reported to HR.

In the case of a long leave, the positive leave balance would be adjusted
first and remaining leaves would be unpaid.



Note:
1. Leaves will be adjusted in the following sequential manner: Compensatory-Offs Casual Leave
(If any) Paid Leave. [Example: If any employee has 4 CL balance and 5 PL balance, and the
employee takes 5 leaves then it will be marked as 4 CL and 1 PL. Only when the total leave
balance (CL+PL) is negative, will it be marked as Unpaid leave (UL).]
2. Any leave taken by the Employee over and above the Accrued Leave will be treated as Unpaid
Leave
3. Employees joining after the 10th of a particular month are not entitled to the leave balance for the
month.

If any employee is on a leave for more than 30 days, on confirmation from
Manager their user account will be disabled which can only be activated
after a ticket is logged and relevant approvals have been taken.

Wedding Leaves All employees who have worked with Copal for more than 1 year are
entitled to 14 days of total leave provided they have sufficient leave
balance, on account of marriage. If the employee does not have sufficient
leave balance, the rest will be unpaid
