It is a project where people can have a feeling of Indian village culture and tradition. The main aim of the project is to impart knowledge about Indian culture, experience of rural lifestyle with a modern touch. ALLAHABAD: How about spending a holiday in the rustic environment of Purvanchal (parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh) village which comes along with the icing of the bank of mighty rivers of Ganga and Yamuna? Well, this would become a virtual reality in the coming days as the district authorities are planning to develop a mini Indian village and Shilp Haat at the mela area of Arail, Naini. Bamboo net ceilings, mud plastered walls, ethnic paintings, murals, beautifully carved furniture and artifacts and much more is in the offing for Allahabadis and foreign tourists, being arranged by the tourism department to showcase India in microcosm.

It will not only be offering a mini village, depicting a typical village of eastern UP, but this would come with the combo pack of a shilp haat. The project is being linked up with Kumbh Mela.
MINI VILLAGE AND SHILP HAAT ?... Mini village, a traditinal village themed resort, is a representation of the culture, traditions and lifestyle of village life . Mini village consists of an ethnic village theme resort with (cottages, royal cottages and haveli suites) and it has multicuisine restaurants, banquet halls, spa, barbecue and sheesha (Hookah) lounge. The village fair attempts to encapsulate the feeling of the rural life and culture of Allahabad, a state known for its cultural and historical richness.
Shilpi Haat an exhibition-cum-sale of Handicrafts and Handlooms. The aim of Shilp Haat is to make the people aware of the traditional handicrafts and handlooms fabric of India. To give better understanding about the handloom fabrics and handicrafts. The exhibition comprises of the display of different handicrafts and handlooms fabrics of that State. Variety of Wood Carving, Dhokra crafts, Wrought Iron products, Terracotta, shell craft, godna prints, dress materials, handloom tussar & cottons, sarees etc. will be on display in the exhibition. Tourists will get exposure on the traditional handicrafts and hand-loom fabrics of allahabad State of India. They will have face to face interaction with the crafts persons and artists. This will widen their knowledge about the handloom fabrics and handicrafts.
