Siemens has been setting the standards
for innovative and professional security
technology for decades. The Intrunet
SI410 control unit draws from this exper-
tise to deliver comprehensive and reliable
security. Multifunctional, it facilitates
audio and video alarm verification, re-
mote or in-situ programming and activa-
tion via PC, as well as alarm and event
transmission using common communica-
tion paths (PSTN, ISDN, IP, GSM/GPRS).
And when combined with the range of
Siemens detectors, the resulting system
offers the highest detection accuracy and
unmatched false alarm immunity.
Future-proof and scalable system
In its basic configuration, the SI410 sys-
tem is based around the central control
unit and the LCD remote keypad. An inte-
grated E-Bus system and plug-in on-board

Reduced operator error with logical
interface
Over 95% of all false alarms can be
traced back to improper user manipula-
tion. In most cases, the alarm has already
been transmitted by the time the error is
identified.
With an Intrunet SI410 system, the user
interface is simple, logical and unam-
biguous. The control panel can be oper-
ated using the LCD keypad or external
systems such as Danger Management
Stations. The entire process (display, op-
eration, etc.) can also be recorded using
macros for future re-use or updates. And
users benefit from a short period of time
Intrunet SI410 everything under control
within which to correct errors and cancel
the alarm transmission.
Easy activation and configuration
The configuration is easily done via the
LCD remote keypad with plain text dis-
plays. Several options of communication
devices are available (for connection over
a standard telephone line, ISDN or IP net-
work). The dialers enable remote opera-
tion of the central control unit via a PC
(upload and download modes), and also
allow for messages to be transmitted via
SMS. Voice announcements can also be
transmitted to designated individuals
(optional audio/voice modules).
Reliable event log
All events are stored in the event memory,
along with the date and time of occur-
rence. A separate event memory is avail-
able for each defined security partition,
as well as for the whole system.
Simple event investigation
Event entries can be identified individual-
ly. This allows for the status of each of
the connected devices to be displayed
and for the origin of an alarm to be
traced. The detectors can be controlled in-
dividually or in groups by room or parti-
tion, for the monitoring of especially
critical areas.
Flexible system activation options
Up to 500 movement corridors can be
defined using 20 elaborate calendars,
and up to two years in advance. This
functionality enables the security set-
tings of a partition to be programmed
depending on the time and day to allow
e.g. cleaning staff to move freely after
hours, whilst leaving other rooms or
areas secure. It is also possible to activate
the partition once all the occupants have
left (temporary code).

reduce the time spent on system operation
and maintenance. SI410 was designed to
integrate seamlessly with Siemens and
3rd party Danger Management Stations.
Multi-tenant buildings monitoring
Buildings can be split into independently
operated partitions, each comprising de-
tectors and sensors monitoring assigned
rooms or floors. Interior, exterior or re-
mote alarms and accessories can be allo-
cated to each partition. These can also be
programmed and switched to unset,
part set and full set modes. And de-
pending on the security requirements,
partitions can be linked to primary, sec-
ondary or virtual partitions and controlled
accordingly. This partition structure is
ideal for individualised monitoring of
critical or complex areas such as shop-in-
shops or multi-tenant commercial build-
ings.

Sophisticated alarm verification and trans-
mission for reliable false alarm prevention
Pre-defined alarm situations with
multi-stage alarm actuation
Detectors can be positioned and
programmed so the signals are sent in
a defined sequence before an alarm is
triggered. This can also be achieved
through one detector activating x number
of times during a certain time, or with
multiple detectors required to activate
within a given time frame.
Event filtering for alarm verification
prior to transmission
To reduce false alarms, events can be
filtered before alarms are triggered, and
Integrated audio and video
verification
The SI410 control unit provides an inte-
grated solution for remote acoustic and
optical alarm verification. The building
can be divided into 16 different verifica-
tion zones, for each of which an alarm re-
ceiving centre operator can listen in and
view live images to verify an alarm, and
immediately communicate with people
on site to advise on the course of action
to be taken. The control unit also pro-
vides the option of requesting remote
support using the keypad audio function.
Sophisticated alarm transmission
criteria
Up to 736 different alarm transmission
criteria can be chosen from and allocated
to each detector, sensor and partition. A
separate alarm procedure can be defined
for each of these transmission criteria,
allowing for differentiated alarm control
and intervention (ideal for shop-in-shop
applications or multi-tenant buildings).
alarm transmission can be further
delayed to allow full verification.
Versatile alarm verification tools
A comprehensive range of add-on products
is available to allow alarm verification by
a receiving centre, via audio or video.
Detectors can be linked to defined verifi-
cation zones so that the relevant module
(e.g. audio, video) can be activated
immediately once the alarm is transmit-
ted.

Simplified installation the E-Bus
advantage
Choosing the SI410 control unit as the
heart of an intruder detection system
means installers can benefit from the E-
Bus technology: both power and data are
carried on 1 E-Bus, reducing the amount
of cables required and installation time.
This is also particularly useful when
retrofitting a system to an existing build-
ing, where laying new wiring is often dif-
ficult and time consuming. This technolo-
Intelligent technology for seamless
installation and maintenance
Wesentliche Merkmale
Simple installation and commissioning
Remote and on-site configuration
and maintenance
Excellent system redundancy
Consistant look and feel across the
Intrunet system family
Input/output modules, power supply units and remote keypads are connected to the
central control unit via the E-Bus. Consistent use of Bus technology yields many
advantages, including reduced labour outlay, ultra-simple system planning and lower
installation and maintenance costs.
gy also allows free star wiring methods
to be used, which simplifies and shortens
the system planning phase. The E-Bus
technology also enables function mod-
ules, operation devices and peripherals
to be positioned where they are needed,
without restriction of location labour
time and costs are in turn greatly reduced.
Excellent system redundancy and
fault finding
Siemens understands that system relia-
bility is key to strengthened security so
system redundancy and fault finding
functionality are integral to a SI410 sys-
tem: the E-Bus can be separated into gal-
vanic isolated partitions with isolator
modules, so if one part of the system is
attacked, the rest of the system is not
affected. This also facilitates fault finding
as a tamper alarm is triggered by each
device connected on the E-Bus individu-
ally in case of operational failure. The
battery, mains and fuses are continuously
monitored and failures are reported to
the main board via the E-Bus. In addition,
the IP and GSM (GPRS) modules provide
redundant connection via IP and GSM
(GPRS) and SMS event messages. The
connection to the Sylcom software pro-
vides further additional fault finding
tools, by allowing devices which are
down to be identified clearly on screen.
Remote and on-site configuration
and maintenance
The Sylcom software can be used for
configuration updates and maintenance
of the Sintony control panel. The system
can also be accessed locally or remotely
via telephone and IP networks.
Intrunet control systems a family
approach
Siemens strives to offer intruder detec-
tion systems which are easy to install and
to use. With the Intrunet SI system family,
which also includes the SI120 and SI220
control units for small to medium sized
systems, training is facilitated as all 3
units use one programming software. A
common range of internal and external
detectors and keypads further contribute
to providing a consistant look and feel for
the installer and user alike.
11
User-friendly keypads
The keypads are equipped with a graphical or a 2-line, 16 character display. The display and the keys are fitted with backlights.
The 5 LEDs display the most important system states. Different versions are available: with or without a flap, with audio func-
tion, with large LCD display and with integrated card reader (cards and tags supplied separately). The latest additions to the
range also include key-switch and annunciation modules.
Audio and video alarm
verification
The SI410 intrusion control unit
provides an integrated solution for
remote audio and video alarm
verification. Buildings can be divided
into verification zones, in each of which
listening in, communicating to people
or visually verifying an alarm is
achievable via the keypad. This also
gives the option to request remote
support using the keypad.
E-Bus/ line expansions
Plug-in modules and peripherals such as
LCD keypads, line expansions for inputs
and outputs, audio/video or external
power supplies support a professional
installation. The SI410 control unit
feeds, controls and monitors the
modules via E-Bus.
Communication modules
A selection of communication modules
are available for the Intrunet control
units. They can be used for alarm
transmission, parameterisation and
maintenance. The Sylcom software
enables a cost-effective facility
management.
