To give a quality Education in Animation to animate traditionally and digitally Creative Design, Video Game

TMV BFA Digital arts animation is established with a Mission to bridge the skill gap of the vocational Education in
various domains like Animation, VFX, and Media & Entertainment Services. The ultra modern facility at TMV BFA
Digital arts animation Campus provides a holistic knowledge and training environment to aspiring students
seeking careers in these fields.
Aims and Objectives
To provide students art based knowledge of 2D and 3D animation.
To give students traditional as well as contemporary knowledge of drawing and painting techniques.
To make students familiar with digital design, interactive design multimedia 2D and 3D animation, digital
animation.
To Provide students with process based knowledge as per current desires of animation industry.
To make a very perfect animator with an art background.
Introduction
Animation is a type of an optical illusion just like a cinema. But instead of having real life characters, animation
uses characters born out of an artists imagination. Also the movements of the animation character part are
somewhat different from real life motions animation is broadly classified in two types.
i) 2Dimensional Animation
Traditionally 2 dimensional animation used to be done with thousand of actual hand made sketches and showing
this sketches in rapidly in succession formed animation sequence like the cartoon Tom and Jerry or Simpson
or like the movie Hanuman, Arjun, My friend Ganesha etc.
ii) 3Dimensional Animation
The advent of computers brought a logical extension of 2D animation and that was 3D. In 3D animation it
became possible to create a 3Dimetional character or object. With the help of software like 3Ds Max, Maya Z
brush, so many game products and 3D animation Movies are produced and are in the market today.

Evaluation
1. Semester pattern with a combination of 40% of Internal Examination and 60% External Examination.
2. Minimum passing marks 16 & 24 respectively

Break Up of Internal MArks

1) Outdoor Study, Exhibitions & other activities (10Marks)
The department of animation arranges outdoor studies, various activities, exhibition etc. Participation and
presentation in these are compulsory. The students also participate in various competitions, events, activities
other then departmental such as stage designing for various events, poster and other competitions, cultural
activities, sports etc.

2) Assignments (20 Marks per Subject)
The average of practiced assignments converted into 20 marks. There are 5 to 10 assignments for each subject.
Most of the subjects are practical oriented.

3) Test: (5 Marks per Subject)
There is a Practical and written test before the semester examination at the end of semester similar to prelim.
The answer sheets are discussed with the students. At list 5 written tests of each subject are held. Average
marks are converted in to 5 marks.

4) Open Discussion on Subject study: (Marks 5 per Subject)
The student should be able to explain the production pipeline of the animated movie. Presentations of all the
subjects learned are judged through the open discussion.
