farm$ The ro!e (i!! "e responsi"!e for the enterprises of ara"!e' "eef and sheep and
inc!ude forage crop production
The idea! candidate (i!! hae) an appropriate farm management *ua!ification
+pro"a"!y degree !ee!,- practica! forage production and !iestoc# experience- a
passion for anima! (e!fare and enironmenta! ste(ardship' and a sound

Managing staff and contractors and ensuring staff rotas proide continua!

9uying supp!ies' such as ferti!iser and feeds' and managing systems to
reduce (aste
Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm "ui!dings' machinery and
e*uipment-
Maintaining and monitoring the *ua!ity of yie!d' (hether !iestoc# or crops-
:nderstanding the imp!ications of the (eather and ma#ing contingency p!ans-
ma#ing sure that !iestoc# are ready for dead!ines' such as auctions and
mar#ets-
ensuring that farm actiities comp!y (ith goernment regu!ations and grant
ru!es-
monitoring anima! hea!th and (e!fare' inc!uding !iaising (ith ets-
maintaining a #no(!edge of pests and diseases and an understanding of ho(
