The Gospel

The Gospel, or Good News of the kingdom, is J esus mission to planet earth to
reconcile sinful men to God in fulfillment of prophecy. This reconciliation provides for
the birth of an individual into the life of Christ (Eph. 2:10)
the assurance of eternal life, with forgiveness for our sins by Christs death on
the cross (1 J ohn 5:13), and
the power of the indwelling Spirit to fulfill the righteous requirements of Gods
laws as we die to the flesh (Rom. 8:4)
the promise of J esus return to rescue those who love Him (J ohn 14:13).
It is peace for the past, strength for today, and hope for tomorrow.

Steps in Receiving the Gospel
1. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Rom 3:23 (KJ V) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2. The standard of Gods righteousnessthe lawsays that, because of your sins,
you deserve to die.

Rom 3:20 (KJ V) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified
in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Rom 6:23 (KJ V) For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal
life through J esus Christ our Lord.

3. Yet, a good and loving God says He will take the penalty for you. Jesus died for
you on the cross.

Rom 2:4 (KJ V) Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and
longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

J ohn 3:16 (KJ V) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Gal 2:20 (KJ V) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

4. Through His grace He offers you the gift of life eternal and spiritual life now.

J ohn 10:10 (KJ V) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more
abundantly.

5. By extending your faith to receive the gift you can be saved and become a new
person.

Eph 2:810 (KJ V) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ J esus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

2Cor 5:17 (KJ V) Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Prayer to Receive Gods Gift
Dear God in heaven,
I know that I am a sinner. I know that I dont deserve the gift of eternal life. But I
believe that you love me and that you sent Jesus to this earth to die for me. Please
forgive me of my sins and make me a new person. I accept your gift of eternal life
and I ask your Spirit to come and live in me. I know I dont deserve your gift, but I
thank you for it, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

The Cream of Scripture on the Gospel
Mark 1:1 (KJ V) The beginning of the gospel of J esus Christ, the Son of God;
2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
which shall prepare thy way before thee.
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make
his paths straight.

Mark 1:14 (KJ V) Now after that J ohn was put in prison, J esus came into Galilee,
preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye,
and believe the gospel.

J ohn 3:3 (KJ V) J esus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJ V) Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by J esus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Romans 1:16 (KJ V) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the J ew first, and also to the
Greek.

Romans 6:6 (KJ V) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more
dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto
God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God
through J esus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts
thereof.

1 Corinthians 15:1 (KJ V) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I
preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless
ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died
for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the
greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of J ames; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because
I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed]
upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but
the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether [it were] I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

Hebrews 8:10 (KJ V) For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother,
saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities
will I remember no more.

Romans 8:1 (KJ V) [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ J esus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ J esus hath made me free from the law of
sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are
after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

1 J ohn 5:12 (KJ V) He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of
God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of
the Son of God.

2 Timothy 1:10 (KJ V) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour
J esus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel:

Adventist Writer Ellen G. White on Delivering the Message of the Cross
Christs Love Uplifted. In order to break down the barriers of prejudice and
impenitence, the love of Christ must have a part in every discourse. Make [190] men to
know how much J esus loves them, and what evidences He has given them of His love.
What love can equal that which God has manifested for man, by the death of Christ on
the cross? When the heart is filled with the love of J esus, this can be presented to the
people, and it will affect hearts.Letter 48, 1886. {Ev 189.3}

Life-Healing Balm from the Cross. The cross, the cross of Calvary presented again and
again, plainly dwelt upon in every discourse, will prove the life-healing balm, will reveal
the beauty and excellence of virtue. Those who quibble over the authenticity of the
Scriptures and question the authority of revelation will not be influenced.Ms 20, 1893.
{VSS 315.1}

Preach Christ. Those who have the truth open before them for this time, bear a solemn
responsibility. They must proclaim repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord
J esus Christ. They must dwell upon the cross of Christ, and call the attention of every
soul to the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. Christ in his self-denial,
Christ in his humiliation, Christ in his purity, his holiness, Christ in his matchless love,
this is the theme that needs to be brought out in every discourse. I have been shown that
there must be a great awakening among the people of God. Many are unconverted whose
names are on the church books. Let these words be repeated by men who are consecrated
to the work: God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Let the sinner grasp this
message as the word of God. Let him repeat it as he comes in penitence and faith to
Christ. Let him say, I am sinful and polluted, but the wrath of God rested upon his
divine Son. He suffered humiliation and death, and exhausted the curse that belonged to
me. I come, I believe. I claim thy sure promise, Whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. Will such a plea, made in contrition of soul, be turned
away?No, never. {RH, August 13, 1889 par. 18}

Study All Truth in Light from Cross. The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is
the great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and
appreciated, every truth in the Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, must be studied
in the light which streams from the cross of Calvary, and in connection with the
wondrous, central truth of the Saviours atonement. Those who study the Redeemers
wonderful sacrifice grow in grace and knowledge. (MS 70, 1901) {5BC 1137.7}

The Theme of Every Discourse. I present before you the great, grand monument of
mercy and regeneration, salvation and redemptionthe Son of God uplifted on the cross
of Calvary. This is to be the theme of every discourse. Christ declares, And I, if I be
lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me (MS 70, 1901). {5BC 1137.8}

The Center of All Other Truths. The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is the
great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and
appreciated, every truth in the word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, must be studied
in the light that streams from the cross of Calvary. I present before you the great, grand
monument of mercy and regeneration, salvation and redemption,the Son of God
uplifted on the cross. This is to be the foundation of every discourse given by our
ministers. {GW 315.2} (1915)
