The lessons you are about to study have been developed through much study, prayer and experience over the past 11 years. During that time there have been several people who have contributed to my life and this work. Without their support, love, help, correction, and input; I would not have completed this work.
To my wife, Brenda, words cannot express how thankful I am that the Lord gave you to me. Truly you have been my helpmeet. Thank you for the countless hours of review, input, discernment, wisdom and input. Without your love and support I would not have completed this assignment from the Lord.
To my mother, Lillian Taylor, I want to thank you for praying for me throughout all of these years. I thank you for the examples of love, service and faithfulness that you have set for me.
To my friends, Greg and Mary Daley, thank you for Godly character and love I see exampled in your life. Truly you are the kind of friends that stick closer than a brother. I appreciate how you handle the anointing in your life with character.
To my friend, Al Houghton, God brought you into our life over a decade ago and used your ministry to encourage us and form aspects of our character. Your message on Purifying the Altar and Marked Men dramatically impacted our lives.
To my friend, Barbara Wentroble, in the last 10 years God used you and your ministry more than anyone else to train us in the prophetic and increase the anointing in our life. We appreciate the examples of faith, courage and boldness youve set as youve blazed new trails for the glory of our King Jesus.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 7 Foreword
In Desert Storm the Lord imparted a vision to me about what was coming on the earth with regard to His Church. In that war we saw a coalition air force come together to bomb an enemy into submission so that when the ground forces went forth we saw massive surrenders. In fact, many of the enemy forces were very thankful to be captured because they received better treatment at the hands of their captors than they did in their own army. As they surrendered, they were delivered from the deprivation and debauchery that existed in their army. It was a victory of Biblical proportions.
The Lord spoke to me during that time and told me of the coming revelation of His name as Lord of Hosts. Once we as a Church get a revelation of that aspect of His character it will dramatically change the way the body of Christ around the world works together. He said that He was drawing together a coalition of forces in the days that would follow spiritually the example of what we saw in Desert Storm. Note: all references to warfare in these lessons are spiritual;
John 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."
The military exists to project power in order to enforce a political will. The army of the Lord exists to do the same thing to establish the kingdom of God in every sphere of society and in every nation.
Ephesians 3:10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,
God is raising up a new breed of leaders for this time and season. They are apostolic leaders who will demonstrate the power of God through signs, wonders and miracles. But their focus will not just be upon the power of God, they will also demonstrate His love and character as well. Wisdom will mark their ministry and well see examples of the kingly anointing.
The day of the one man show is over in ministry. Wars are won by armies. Wars being won by an individual such as David and Goliath are the exception to the rule. Armies require order, discipline, administration, communication, an understanding of authority and teamwork.
There is a focus this day upon the corporate anointing and there are many aspects to seeing that manifested in the body of Christ. Each minister is different. Depending upon their five fold gift, their call, and their church heritage we will see them teach us different facets of what is required for the corporate anointing. Some will focus on the need for love, others on mercy, some on worship or 24 hour prayer and some will be passionate about intimacy and Christ likeness and some will focus on strategy and administration. But, as we the church receive from each ministerial gift, we will begin to see the whole council of God formed in His Church.
It takes wisdom to see that all of these things are needed. King David was a man after Gods own heart. He was passionately in love with the Lord. He had wonderful fellowship with Him and wrote Him psalms. When he became king he sought to bring back the presence of God and set up the Tabernacle of David where 24 hour prayer, praise and worship was instituted. But King David also went on to establish the kingdom and this required war, strategy, an army, administration, order, discipline and an understanding of authority.
In the following lessons you will find aspects of the Lords character revealed and youll learn wisdom. These lessons are not comprehensive. They are intended to build upon the foundations, anointing and understanding that have already been established in your life. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 8
In this season I believe it will take not only power but also character. It will take not only an anointing but administration as well. I believe that the Lord is sending Godly leaders today who will exhibit the character, anointing and wisdom like we have never seen before. They will love Him and love His Church. They will handle the Church as a bride being prepared for Jesus. At the same time they will lead this army into the heavenly conflict to show forth the manifold wisdom of God to principalities and powers and to set the captives free.
There is a heavenly recruiting call going forth in this hour. It is time for the church (army of the Lord) to form up and get in rank and file for the Lord of Hosts. It is time for each of us to get in our place and fulfill our purpose. It is time to CONECT. Joel 2:1-11 Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand: 2 A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations. 3 A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; the land is like the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them. 4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like swift steeds, so they run. 5 With a noise like chariots over mountaintops they leap, Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble, Like a strong people set in battle array. 6 Before them the people writhe in pain; all faces are drained of color. 7 They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war; every one marches in formation, and they do not break ranks. 8 They do not push one another; every one marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons, they are not cut down. 9 They run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall; they climb into the houses, they enter at the windows like a thief. 10 The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. 11 The LORD gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; who can endure it?
Introduction
Judges 3:2 this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it,
Several years ago I attended the Naval War College in Newport Rhode Island. Rear Admiral S.B. Luce was the founding president of the US Naval War College in 1884. In June 1903 he said the purpose of the college:
"is to enable officers to prepare themselves for the hour of conflict that the college has been opened. He who waits for war to learn his profession often acquires his knowledge at a frightful cost of human life."
To wage war, we must understand our enemy and ourselves in order to devise an appropriate strategy to win. Just as the Lord in the Old Testament gave the land to the children of Israel, they still had to go in and possess it. In this day and age Jesus Christ has already won the victory, but we are responsible for possessing it and expressing it on this earth today.
Judges 3:1-3 Now these are the nations which the LORD left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan 2 (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 9 it), 3 namely, five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath.
The purpose of WMI's Spiritual War College is to do our part in preparing leaders in the body of Christ for the heavenly conflict in these last days. There are many excellent ministries who have provided resources and training to prepare believers in their character and the gifts distributed to us by the Holy Spirit. The primary focus of this college will be to equip leaders to improve corporate communication, build teamwork, connect with other organizations and think, act and plan strategically like an admiral, general or an apostle. We will also impart a vision and teach everyone how to be a more effective team player and training is provided for those who desire to become a Certified Communication Center Coordinator in their church or a CONECTer in their city.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 14 Lesson 1 - The Christian Outreach Network Establishing City- wide Teamwork In the last decade there has been a great increase in corporate expressions of prayer and intercession like Prayer Summits, March For Jesus, Praying Through the Window (10/40), 40/70 Window Prayer Initiative, A.D. 2000 Prayer Track, Watch of the Lord, etc. Today the trend towards corporate expressions of prayer continues with prayer walking, spiritual mapping, and establishing 24 hour prayer centers, restoring the Watch of the Lord and city-wide prayer gatherings. This has led to an influx of information to church leaders from prayer warriors and intercessors. The trumpet has sounded in our land. Church leaders are gathering to seek the Lord for strategies in prayer, evangelism, church planting, and missions. God is called Lord of the Hosts (armies) 245 times in the Bible. Revelation is coming forth in the church today to know Him as Lord of the Armies and Captain of the Hosts. CONECT was developed with a military view in mind. It seeks to answer the following questions: What do you do with all of the information that has been gleaned from intercession, prayer walks and spiritual mapping and how do you compile and display this information so that it can be used effectively by leadership? For the vision and tools see 4 Steps to CONECT or check out the FAQ's for CONECT. Which Principles of Warfare do you use during this campaign? How do you coordinate large groups in prayer and evangelism to fully utilize all of your resources in the most efficient manner? CONECT will assist any church as they build The Wall of Prayer and in establishing the Watch of the Lord. CONECT has been strongly influenced by the author's experience as a naval officer in Desert Storm while serving on the admiral's staff. It was the admiral's responsibility to maintain communications with all naval units and armed forces in his area of operations, to track those forces, gather intelligence on enemy forces, display the intelligence in a concise manner, and develop and implement strategy based upon current intelligence and resources at hand. However, none of this could be accomplished without excellent communication lines. To see the practical steps, teaching, training, and administrative plans go to the 4 Practical Steps to Implement CONECT.. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 15 The church today is involved in a battle with eternal consequences and to the victor goes the spoils. The issue at hand are the souls of men and women, and heaven or hell. The trumpet is being sounded for the gathering of church leaders in cities and nations so we can devise and implement strategies at the Lords direction. CONECT was developed as a tool to enable Christians to connect with: The Lord in intimate prayer with Him Each other in the local church Local churches in a city City Churches in a region or nation Churches internationally
Once the people and churches are connected then communication lines are established. Using Nehemiah as a model, CONECT provides the leadership with:
A strategic communication center Spiritual intelligence gathering capabilities A method to identify strengths and weaknesses in the wall of a church or city. A method to compile and display data received from watchmen and intercessors. The Biblical Principles of Warfare. These strategies have been used by military commanders through the ages to plan and wage wars. A method to implement strategy quickly and effectively once a course of action has been determined. A plan to connect churches in the body of Christ together.
CONECT is a simple tool that acts like sinew joining various parts of the body together. The key to its use, is that is provides a system that is easy to use, it is easy to reproduce, and it can be adapted by local churches or ministries to establish lines of communication through the use of a strategic communication center. The body cannot function properly unless all its parts are in their proper place and are communicating with each other and the head. Without communications an army cannot function effectively. That is why it is an age old strategy in warfare to knock out the communication centers and cut communication lines. You will find that when an army's communication lines are cut, so are the supply lines. When communication centers are knocked out, the army is left with out direction, intelligence, and Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 16 defeat is close at hand. No great campaign can succeed unless there are reliable communications between the various units, their officers, and the general staff. Lord I pray that we acknowledge that the Captain of the Host is Jesus and we honor and esteem those men and women in the body of Christ whom He has appointed as officers in His army and has given them assignments as five-fold ministers, elders, deacons, saints, business people, government officials, homemakers, teachers, public servants....... Lord, you are a man of war (Ex. 15:3). Your stir up your zeal like a warrior (Isaiah. 42:13). You are coming forth in the Day of The Lord with Your army of mighty men. Everyone marches in formation as a strong people set in battle array (Joel 2:1-11). Everyone is in their place in rank and file. Lord I thank you for the great and mighty army you are raising up in this hour. I pray each of us will hear your specific assignment and we would respond to the call, get in our place and stay there, fulfilling our function and giving you all the glory. I thank you for the divine wisdom and strategies you are giving us in these days. Lord, I pray that we would receive and understand your character displayed in your name as the Lord of Hosts. Pour out your spirit of wisdom and revelation upon us (Ephesians 1:17-21). In Jesus name. Situation Report City City overcome with wickedness Church disjointed 1 Corinthians 12 Ezekiel 37 Acts 15:16 Tabernacle of David established in Zion What happened at Zion Determined to take Zion Bring back presence of God Established strong base of operations Launched offensive operations to expand the kingdom 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
So what is the situation in your city? Is your city overcome with wickedness? Is the church in your city disjointed and not working together? You know the Bible teaches us in 1 Corinthians 12 Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 18 that we need each other and in Ezekiel 37 we see that when the body comes together bone to bone and joint to joint, it rises up a great and mighty army. So to impact our cities the church in a city made up of many local congregations will have to work together to impact our cities.
We see in Acts 15:16 that 'After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; 17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things.'
To understand what God wants to do today, we need to look back at what happened when David Took Zion. First, they made a decision to take Zion, second they determined that they wanted the presence of God, third, once they took it they fortified it and made it a strong base of operations and finally, they launched offensive operation's to expand the kingdom as the army had a place to be fed, rest and to train.
Slide 3
The Vision Vision Christian Outreach Network Establishing City-wide Teamwork Ephesians 3:10 Establish 24 hour prayer in a city 1. Build a Wall of Prayer Starts by building a strong base of operations 2. Set the Watch Watchmen and intercessors report what they see and hear Goal is to establish 24 hour prayer in each city 3. CONECT consolidates this spiritual intelligence to present a consolidated report to leadership 4. Leaders determine the appropriate course of action and implement the strategy for their church or organization 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Whats the vision? It is to help the church in a city work together to accomplish Gods purpose in a city. Im not talking about building a building. The church is made up of people.
CONECT stands for the Christian Outreach Network Establishing City-wide Teamwork. CONECT can be implemented in any organization is because the church, is not a building. The church is a people. Therefore Christians in any organization working together can function as the church. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 19 CONECT helps Christians work together by starting to build the Wall of Prayer. Then a watch is set. The purpose of the watch is to be good stewards of watching over our service, ministry or business before the Lord and the watch identifies those with a prophetic gifting or someone given to prayer, and we make sure that we are good stewards of the reports they bring back from their times of watching. CONECT facilitates the gathering and consolidations of the reports for the leadership in a service, ministry or business. In a sense, it is just like the military where intelligence is gathered and presented so that battle plans can be devised. CONECT then consolidates the reports and presents it to the leadership of the organization or leaders of a city. The leaders can then take that report before the Lord to seek Him for his direction and strategy. Leaders determine the appropriate course of action and implement the strategy for their church or organization.
Slide 4
Building the Wall of Prayer Step 1 Acknowledges each persons or organizations responsibility or authority Home Church Business City Everyone is an intercessor Family Church family Stewardship Nehemiah & Ephesians 4:16 Each family prays for two others Based on relationship 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org 1 2 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11
The first step in CONECT is to establish a strong base of operations for the church to operate from. This starts by building the wall of prayer.
In CONECT we acknowledge each persons and organizations responsibility and authority. For example, who is responsible for the family before the Lord? The husband is. Who is the person whom God holds accountable for the local church? Who is the person that God hold accountable for a business? Who might the Lord hold accountable for a city? I believe that God will hold the local church leaders accountable for the city they live in. Hence, CONECT does not usurp anyones authority. We only seek to help you fulfill it. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 20
In CONECT, every person is an intercessor and that is because weve gotten lazy in the body of Christ. Every one of us is called to be like Jesus and He ever lives to make intercession for us. It begins first in each family, where in the husband is responsible to ensure that his family is prayed for and that each family member prays for the others. Then, each family is responsible to pray for the local church family they are apart of. CONECT encourages good stewardship and uses a strategy implemented in Nehemiah and reinforced in Ephesians 4:16. Every family prays for two others. In doing so, each person does their share so that the body is built up in love. What do you pray? You pray that the Lords kingdom come and will be done in their lives. Pray that the Lords character be formed in them. And finally, pray for the completion of the vision of the church or organization you are apart of.

Set the Watch - Step 2 Two aspects Acknowledge that there are prophetic people Stewardship Assign watchmen to watch over specific areas of responsibilities at certain times Gates are type of ministry The stewardship goal Each ministry or organization has a watch Establish 24 hour watch in a city CONECT provides a consolidated intelligence report 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
The second step in implementing CONECT is to set the Watch. To do this you must acknowledge two truths. First, there are prophetic people out there who are anointed and called to watch and pray. They see and hear well spiritually. Secondly, leaders have a responsibility to be good stewards.
In setting the watch, you assign people to watch or pray over certain responsibilities at certain times. It might be a portion of the congregation or the wall as we see in scripture that people are referred to as living stones or they might be watching over a certain ministry. Gates typify a type of ministry.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 21 The stewardship goal is to establish a watch in each ministry or organization and to establish a 24 hour watch in each city. CONECT helps gather and manage all the reports created by increased prayer and helps build a current intelligence picture of what faces the church.
Now walls have gates. In the Bible, the gates were typically where the authority sat. People would flow in and out. Today, gates are like a type of ministry where people, services, and communication flow in and out. In the Bible Watchmen were typically stationed at the gates and at various places on the wall. They would report what they saw and what they heard to the kings and elders who sat in the gates.. They could be assigned at certain places on the wall watching over certain people or they might watch over a certain ministry. To learn more about this see the lesson on Watchmen.

We see in Nehemiah 7:2 where Hanani leader of the citadel. In other words he managed the changing of the guard, and he collected all the reports from the watchmen and the families stationed on the wall. Hanani would consolidate the reports and report to Nehemiah. Once hed gathered and consolidated his reports he reported to Nehemiah. It was Nehemiah's responsibility to determine what to do based upon those reports.

What does a Conect-er do? Manage watch assignments Consolidates reports and presents to leadership Facilitate communication and good stewardship In an organization In a city Administrates 24 hour watch What are the qualifications? Servants heart Faithful Loyal In authority but under authority 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
The person in CONECT who functions like the captain of the guard is called a Communications Center Coordinator (CCC) in a local church and a CONECTer in a city. What do they do?
They manage the watch assignments; they consolidate the reports and report to the leaders. They facilitate communication and good stewardship in any organization such as a church. In a city they would administrate the 24 hour watch.
This person is very key and should be selected with care and prayer. What are the qualifications? I recommend you choose someone with a servants heart, faithful, loyal and one who is in authority but under authority.

Leadership Determines Course of Action Step 4 Receive consolidated report The big picture or strategic view Leaders seek the Lord to determine what to do with the Intel In a position to: Work together as a team Organization City Utilize the Biblical Principles of Corporate Spiritual Warfare such as: Objective Mass Offense 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
The CCC or the CONECTer provides consolidated reports to the leadership at certain intervals. This is how they stay on top of the big picture. The Leaders then determine what to by taking that information before the Lord to ask Him for His Strategy.
The leaders are in a better position to work together as a team locally or on a city wide basis. They are in a much better position to utilize the biblical principles of corporate spiritual warfare such as objective, mass and offense. Slide 9

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 26 Lesson 3 - Operation Reformation The Scriptural Basis for CONECT
Situation Report - 446 B.C. - Jerusalem Nehemiah 2:1 - 4:23 The city was in ruins, the survivors left over from the captivity are in great distress and under reproach. The walls of the city are broken down and the gates have been burned with fire. There is no army, only the poorest of the poor trying to survive. There is no leadership to give the people direction. The people could be attacked and picked off one by one or they could be completely over run at any time for there was no leadership or unity of command. Everyone did what was right in his own sight. To even think that an army would form out of this chaos with no leadership or common vision is ludicrous. There was no organization, there were no supplies, and there was no leadership providing a common vision. Even if there had been the resemblance of an army left they would have been hard pressed to even protect Jerusalem their base of operations for the walls were in such a state of poor repair. They could not guard all of the holes in the wall and there were no gates. There was no unity of command with which to coordinate what little assets there were, because there was no communication and no chain of command. There was no chain of command because no one would take responsibility. Therefore, no one even tried. They were reduced to a state of survival; every man for himself. They had begun working on restoring the temple many years earlier and the Priest Ezra had helped restore true temple worship. They served Yaweh for a while but it wasn't long before the people became discouraged and they neglected their time of fellowship with the Lord and returned everyone to focusing on their own house. Then God moved upon Nehemiah's heart with a vision to rebuild the ancient ruins and four months later he returned to Jerusalem with captains of an army and horsemen along with some supplies and letters of passage. His mission:
Operation Reformation Re-form the people, Re-organize, Re-supply and Re-build the Walls and Gates
The first thing that Nehemiah did upon his arrival was to secretly survey the condition of the walls under the cover of darkness. They looked over the strong points, the weak points, examined the remains of the watch towers and identified the gates. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 27 Nehemiah gathered the people and shared the vision to rebuild and repair the walls and the gates to make the city a stronghold, a safe haven, a place of rest and refuge. Why it could even be like it was in King David's time where it was the strongest of strongholds. The army would go forth from here and defeat enemies and establish garrisons in other cities. To accomplish this, Jerusalem would once again have to be strong with an abundance of supplies and a well trained army. It was such a wonderful vision that all the people answered, "Let us rise up and build." Then they set their hands to this good work. (Nehemiah. 2:18) Operation Reformation was in motion. But before the walls could be reformed, the laborers had to be reformed as well. The third thing Nehemiah did was to organize the people and assign each of them a place in the wall that they would be responsible to repair and rebuild. Family by family they were assigned a place in the wall or at the gate that needed repairing. Because the work was large and the people were few, it was necessary to pull double duty. Each builder was expected to carry his weapons and be prepared to fight at a moments notice, however, the priority was to build. Now that hope returned they began to think about going out and attacking their enemies, however, they realized that the time would come soon enough. The next order of business was to rebuild and establish a secure base of operations, like David had in Zion. Then they would go forth to conquer from a place of strength. So, they did not go out to seek a fight but remained at their post and rebuilt the walls and the gates. However, if an enemy came, they were ready. Wherever they heard the trumpet sound, they gathered there to fight. There were guards and watchman posted but it was required that everyone watch and everyone fight until the walls were re-built. Each family worked by two other families, one on either side. So they watched out for one another and helped each other complete the task. They were co- laborers. However, in order to alert the trumpeter who stayed by Nehemiah in case of an enemy attack, it was necessary that everyone along the wall stay in constant communication with each other and with the leaders so as to be able to report what they saw and heard accurately and quickly. Nehemiah and his leadership team then had to sort out the big picture by piecing together the reports as they came in from various places along the wall. He had the captain of the guard help them by compiling the information and then reporting to them in a timely fashion. The work went well. Everyone worked, everyone watched, and the work continued around the clock. Everyone was prepared, everyone shared, and no one took advantage of those less fortunate for the works sake. Rumors were rampant but the Word of the Lord was sure. There were many who did not want them to finish this great and noble work but they dealt with the fear, the rumors, and they guarded their hearts and minds. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 28 Upon completion of the project, the city was secure. Now many of the people could be reassigned to new tasks. Some became gatekeepers, others singers, some were appointed to the Levitical duties. The people brought the tithe into the temple, the storehouses filled and provision was made for those who served before the Lord. The word of the Lord was taught to the people and they now had a stronghold. A place of safety, a place of security, a place of provision, a place from which now the kingdom could be expanded for the army once again had a secure base from which to operate. Now that families and supplies were secure, and the place of worship was in a good state or repair, the leaders and the army could once again begin to plan offensive operations from which to go forth and claim new territory for the glory of our King and Lord. The premise behind focusing on Nehemiah is intended to lay a foundation to build an effective fighting force (the church is an army) with which to engage the devil and his demonic hordes, so that the gospel might be preached and a harvest of souls gleaned. The church needs to reform with everyone in rank and file (Joel 2). It is much better to reform behind a place of safety rather than in the open fields and you need a safe place to store your supplies as well as secure lines of communication. Only then can an effective offensive operation be sustained by having the lines of communication flow between strong bases of operations (garrisons, forts, etc.) or between a base of operation and a strong army in the field. Today, many local churches are in a similar state of disarray; however, not all. God is moving in an incredible way to mobilize His church. There is a historical amount of cooperation among different elements of the body of Christ. Consider a few manifestations of God's grace like Promise Keepers, March for Jesus and of course, Praying through the 10/40 Window. But there is more, there is much more. Never before in church history do we have different parts of the church coming together to work together on such a great magnitude. However, I believe that God wants to accomplish so much more. If we can catch a vision of Him as Lord of the Hosts, I believe we could begin to grow into another understanding of God's character. He is called Lord of the Hosts over 245 times in the Bible. That is almost 3 times more than any other name that He is called. There is a revelation coming in the body of Christ concerning the Lord of the Hosts (armies). Jesus is a military commander. He is the Captain of the Hosts and when He returns he comes to conquer with a strong people set in battle array (Joel 2). In order to accomplish the great commission we will have to work together like never before. This will require the greatest level of anointing and administration that the church has ever mounted. In fact, it has already begun. I will liken the local church to the garrison and I believe that the local church needs to become a "strong base of operations." That is based upon the warfare principle of security. Have you ever Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 29 seen a church try to minister to their city and be hindered by a lack of people, a lack of supplies, a lack of equipment, or a lack of finances? So, how do we build the walls and establish the gates in strongholds from which to launch and support offensive operations? Realize that the Old Testament is a type and shadow and was written for our learning. The walls refer to people and the gates refer to ministries that flow in and out of the church. 1 Peter 2:4-6 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." NKJV
Isaiah 54:11-14 "O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted, Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of rubies, Your gates of crystal, And all your walls of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. NKJV
Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your walls Salvation, And your gates Praise. NKJV
Isaiah 26:1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: "We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. NKJV
Nehemiah 4:10-21 Then Judah said, "The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall." And our adversaries said, "They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease." So it was, when the Jews who dwelt near them came, that they told us ten times, "From whatever place you turn, they will be upon us." Therefore I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows. And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 30 sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work. So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah. Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon. Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me. Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, "The work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall. "Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us." So we labored in the work, and half of the men held the spears from daybreak until the stars appeared.
We see in scripture where people are referred to as stones and His walls are called salvation. His gates shall be called praise. Are not God's people called to be a praise in the earth (Isa. 62:7)? Gates are a place where people flow in and out and gates were also a place where the kings and elders sat (2 Sam. 18:24-27, 2 Kings 9:17-18). I liken gates to ministries in a local church. For this is where ministry flows in and out of the church. Typically each gate in a wall will have a place for a watchman. It was necessary for the watchman that they cry out what they saw and what they heard to the kings and elders who sat in the gate (2 Sam. 18:24-27, 2 Kings 9:17-18, Isaiah 62:6). The Lord is establishing the Watch of the Lord in this season. We are also building a Wall of Prayer. As the wall of prayer is built and the watch is set, demonic strategies will be revealed and the church will receive strategic plans from our Lord. As we implement the strategic spiritual warfare plans combined with evangelistic plans we'll see a transfer of wealth to finance the harvest (the gathering of people (stones) to build the walls of salvation). To learn how to practically implement CONECT in your organization complete all three courses. The second course provides leaders wisdom by teaching them the Principles of War that have been taught to military leaders for the last 2500 years. These principles work because they happen to be Biblically based. The final course provides the Communication Center Coordinator (CCC) and CONECTer with practical administrative and leadership training. That training includes the tools and processes necessary to empower anyone to set up CONECT in their organization.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 31 Lesson 4 - Implementing CONECT in the Local Church
So, how do we apply what we learned about Nehemiah from Operation Reformation?
Our first goal is to help you build a strong base of operations from which to operate from. To do this we will follow Nehemiah's example and rebuild the walls and the gates. We will do this initially through building a Wall of Prayer and encouraging you to establish a Watch. The prayer strategy will be found in the articles regarding the Role of the Intercessor and the Role of the Watchman. When you've completed the whole process this is what you will have.
Every family in the church will be praying for two other families People will be standing in the gaps. Instead of fault finding they will be restoring the breaches. Love covers a multitude of sin. Watchmen will be identified Three possible groups Prayer watch Prayer walking Research Watchmen and intercessors will have a system in place to report what they see and hear in prayer The leadership team be demonstrating good stewardship of the gifts and talents of their people The leadership team will have a current picture of what is happening from which they can seek the Lord for strategy The leadership team will have been taught the Biblical Principles of Warfare. This will assist the team in developing strategy for your area.
The first step in building a strong base of operations is to identify the perimeter or wall. To identify the area of responsibility or wall, answer these questions.
Who is the senior minister responsible for? Who is on the church roster or phone list?
Second, what is the condition of the wall (people)? This identifies your strengths and major areas requiring prayer.
Where is the congregation strong? Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 32 Where is the congregation weak?
The walls will be built by people interceding. Each family prays for two other families. To learn more about building the wall or prayer see the Role of the Intercessor.
Third, what ministries exist in your local church or ministry? These are the gates of the wall. These are the places that ministry flows in and out.
Evangelism Youth group Intercessory prayer Home meetings Worship and evangelism with the arts etc...
The condition of each gate will have to be determined and then watchman in the church should be identified. To discover how watchmen function in CONECT see the Role of the Watchman.
What will be accomplished through this exercise? Upon completion you will have:
A current assessment of the overall condition of your church or ministry Identified strengths Identified weaknesses that require prayer Determined your area of responsibility which determines your sphere of authority Identified those who function as watchmen or who in prayer or who might be candidates to become watchmen. Identified your intercessors
Once you have identified the wall, have each family pray for two other families. Imagine what it was like in Jerusalem in Nehemiah's time. Each family was assigned a position on the wall to rebuild. Therefore they had one family on either side of them. Each family worked by two others. I'm sure that working side by side they got to know each other well and that is what we should do in our churches. If the families do not know one another, then they should get to know one another so that they'll know how to pray for one another. To learn more see the Role of the Intercessor.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 33 The fourth thing to do is to provide guidance to your people for prayer. They need to know the vision of your particular local church or ministry. The senior minister and the leadership team is responsible before the Lord for the stewardship of that vision. Therefore, make sure everyone is praying in agreement.
At this point, you can compare this situation report with the vision mission statement of the church in order to determine if you are working towards fulfilling the God given assignment for that local church.
Once the assessment is complete you have an overall view of what your current situation is like. You will know what areas need prayer, you will know what areas need attention for immediate action and you will be able to prioritize your course of action needed to fulfill the vision. For practical guidelines, administrative plans, watchman report forms, intercessor report forms, etc. go to the 4 Practical Steps to Implement CONECT.
Vision for City-wide Teamwork
In local churches the wall of prayer is built as each family prays for two other families. In the city the wall of prayer is built as each congregation prays for two churches. By following this pattern, no one is overburdened. Every part does their share. As each congregation prays for two other congregations a wall of prayer is built by the churches around their city. As local churches get to know one another they will discover various strengths that display an aspect of the Father's love and character and they will also have weaknesses that other ministries or churches in the local area might be able to help strengthen. For example, one church may do an excellent job of ministering to the poor and homeless, but they may be weak in finances. Another church may be strong in financial resources provision but weak in reaching out and ministering to the poor and homeless. As relationships develop between leaders they can begin to work together to glean spiritual intelligence through their peoples prayer, research and prayer walking. The data can be compiled and displayed to give the city leadership an overview of what the city church looks like so that they can then seek the Lord for the strategy for their city or region. Then we have a wonderful opportunity to work together to expand our Lord's kingdom.
As cities catch the vision there will be a centralized place in the city where in the reports will be gathered. In this place Davidic worship (prayer, praise and worship) will go up before the Lord 24 hours per day.
Vision for Country-wide Teamwork Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 34
The church in a region or a nation could then do the exact same thing with each city church. Strengths and weaknesses will be identified along with their primary areas of ministry. As consolidated reports came in from the various city churches then the leadership in a region or nation would have an overall picture of what is going on so they could seek the Lord for His strategy. Once a strategy is ascertained, the communication system is in place to quickly implement the Lord's strategy.
Now, prayer needs are targeted, strengths are noted and can be directed to other area churches where they may be able to strengthen a weak part, limited resources can be better utilized, relationships will be built and strengthened, etc.....
Once a strong base of operations is secured, then a trained, well supplied force can go forth very effectively expanding the kingdom through intercession, evangelism and church planting. No longer are we on the defense responding to the devil's move but we are being offensive and we make the enemy respond to our advances. We take ground and keep it for the glory of our Lord.
Even King David led his band of men into the wilderness (1 Samuel 22:4, 2 Samuel 5:7-9) to a stronghold and Mt. Zion is referred to as a stronghold. I believe it would be wise to look at what Mt. Zion became. David built his home in the stronghold, his army grew strong there. God honored them and blessed them and from that place they began to go forth conquering their enemies and establishing garrisons in all of Judah (2 Sam. 8). I believe that one of the primary reasons that King David's place became strong was that he established a place that where the Lord was sought 24 hours a day through prayer, praise and worship.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 35 Lesson 5 - The Intercessors Role Building the Wall of Prayer
There are many excellent books today for teaching and training on intercession, prayer, spiritual warfare, prayer walks, city-wide prayer gatherings etc. You can find some of these books one our website at www.watchmanministries.org. For anyone just beginning to develop their own personal prayer life I'd recommend the series of Books by Larry Lea starting with "Could You Not Tarry One Hour."1 If you are just beginning to learn about intercession I refer you to "Possessing the Gates of the Enemy"2 by Cindy Jacobs and "Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets.3
Let me start by addressing an attitude in the body of Christ today. In most churches there is a small handful of people called intercessors. There is a much larger group of people that encourage them to intercede. The attitude is, you are called to pray, I am not. So while you are praying, please pray for my needs so I dont have to.
This habit has led to a tremendous burden being placed on a few. It is not uncommon for many intercessors to burnout. This is often due to them taking on responsibilities beyond their responsibility. I so appreciate these faithful few. We as the church owe a great debt of gratitude. However, the Bible clearly teaches us in Ephesians 4:16 that it is important for every person to do their share. Therefore this situation must change.
I do not see anywhere in the Bible a "ministry" or gift of intercession. We do see Jesus in Hebrews 7:25 who is our High Priest and He ever lives to make intercession for us. But we are all called to be like Him, and if we are all called to be like Him, then we are all called to intercede.
Who do you intercede for? I would like to answer that with, what or who are you responsible for? It starts in your family, extends out to your church family, anything (business, job, position, office) or anyone whom you have responsibility for and anything the Bible tells us to pray for (1 Timothy 2:2 says pray for those in authority).
What is an intercessor?
"An intercessor is a man or woman-or child-who fights on behalf of others. As such, intercession is the activity that identifies us most with Christ. To be an intercessor is to
1 Larry Lea, Could You Not Tarry One Hour?, (Creation House, 1987) 2 Cindy Jacobs, Possessing the Gates of Your Enemy, (Chosen Books, 1991) 3 Dutch Sheets, Intercessory Prayer, (Regal Books, 1996) Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 36 be like Jesus because that is what Jesus is like. He ever lives to intercede.4 " Dick Eastman
So how does the individual intercessor fit in CONECT?
As you recall, in the first chapter we focused on the book of Nehemiah 1 - 4. The walls were broken down in many places and the gates were burned with fire. In 1 Peter 2:4- 6 people are referred to as stones being built into a spiritual house. In Isaiah 54:11-17 and Isaiah 60:18 we find people referred to as precious stones as well.
Note: Ezra and Nehemiahs ministries overlapped. Ezra was focusing on building the house of the Lord while Nehemiahs ministry focused more on protection. Hence, the people worked on both the temple and the walls at various times. In CONECT, we focus primarily on equipping an organization to become a strong base of operations like Zion was for King David. Once King David had a stronghold (Zion) then we set up the Tabernacle of David. A habitation for the presence of the Lord. That my friend is exactly what we hope to help you facilitate in your organization, city, and region.
We are using that scriptural basis to develop a plan to build a wall of prayer for a church or a city. The wall is made up of people. First, the leadership has to identify the perimeter or the wall. How do they do this? They simply survey all the people who are in their congregation or all the Christians who are part of their organization. They could use a membership role or perhaps a phone directory to identify their people. Second, all the people will be assigned a place in the wall where they are responsible to watch and build. This is done by assigning each family to pray for two other families.
The wall of prayer is made up of people.
Each family prays for two other families. This strategy has several benefits. Promotes maturity by encouraging each believer to take responsibility for praying for their family and two other families in the church. (Nehemiah 2-4)
4 Dick Eastman, Love On Its Knees, (Chosen Books, 1989), p. 21
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 37 Distributes the workload as every person does their fair share and no one is overburdened (Ephesians 4:16) Assists leaders in being better stewards of their flock. (Proverbs 27:23) Encourages the building of relationships and accountability. Employs a strategy of mass as a three fold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12) Requests for prayer are initially handled at the lowest level so that only major prayer needs that the three families are unable to handle make it up to the leaders or prayer chain. Provides a way for anyone to report anything they see or hear in prayer. Assists leaders in being good stewards of every report generated It is efficient Once the wall is identified, how do you build the wall in prayer? Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Isaiah 58:12 Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. Ezekiel 13:3-5 Thus says the Lord GOD: "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! "O Israel, your prophets are like foxes in the deserts. "You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for the house of Israel to stand in battle on the day of the LORD. The word gap literally means a break in the wall or a breach. Francis Frangipane says that: "you have to be an intercessor who 'stands in the gap.' The 'gap' is the distance between the way things are and the way things should be" 5 and it is the responsibility of Godly leaders to make sure the gap gets filled. Nehemiah fulfilled his responsibility by assigning families to positions on the wall to repair it. They were to watch for the enemy as well as build the wall until the breach was repaired. We see in the scriptures where people are referred to as stones. Therefore if we consider Ezekiel 22:30 and Isaiah 58:12, then a way to build the local church is to begin to pray for the people in our local church; building them up and strengthening them.
5 Francis Frangipane, Repairers of the Breach, (Cedar Rapids, IA: Arrow Publications, 1994), pg. 17. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 38
The initial function that each family will perform is to stand in the gap and intercede for the families on either side of them and pray for the building-up of the weak places in a church. Why? Because building the wall of prayer is actually building each other up. The bible teaches us that we are our brothers keeper. There are also several examples in the word of God wherein the sin or weakness of one affected the whole congregation (ex. Ai - Joshua 7). If you are an enemy, do you attack the opposing force where they are strong or where they are weak? The enemy would pick the weakest place to attack. That is why we have to build each other up because when one suffers we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26).
Filling in the gap starts with prayer. So how do you do that? The leadership needs to provide a list to the congregation on the strengths and weaknesses that they would like the church to pray for as well as well as the vision of the church. Each family needs to be assigned two families to pray for on a daily basis. Each family should get to know the other two families well. The better you know them the more specific you'll be able to pray. It is of course assumed that each family led by the head of household is praying for themselves everyday as well. This makes sure everyone in the congregation has at least 2 people praying for them daily. After that, the whole congregation can agree together daily, praying for the building up of the weak places. The procedures implemented here employ the warfare principles of objective, mass, and communication. So what should the intercessor pray? Pray for the development of Godly character and His kingdom to come and His will to be done in their lives. "The Scriptures reveal that there are two acts which go on continually before the throne of God - intercession and accusation. The conflict between these two is the focal point of the battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Because God has chosen to make the church His dwelling place, and therefore the place of His throne, it is in the heart of the church that this battle now rages.6 Realizing the gap can also be referred to as a fault, we need to be careful not to dwell on the negative and become only fault finders. Therefore we must be very careful what we do and not accuse. Proverbs 18:21 says that life and death are in the power of our tongue. So speak life. I Peter 4:8 says that love covers a multitude of sins. So fill in the gap with the love of the Lord. Look at the Word of God and call things that are not as though they were. Do you see a

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 39 weakness in their character? If so, then pray and appropriate God's power and grace so they can change. There are many excellent books on intercession and prayer. I recommend that you take advantage and learn how to pray. The bottom line is, don't criticize the breach or fault, repair it. Start by praying the general will of God and use the Word of God and the vision for the local church as your blue print as you build through prayer. The Gathering of Stones However, prayer is just the start. Once prayer is being lifted up on a consistent basis then plans for the gathering of old stones and new stones can begin (remember stones refer to people). The old stones are people who were at your church, but due to an offense, the cares of this world or whatever, they left and your church is where God intends them to fulfill their destiny. Begin to pray that God would draw them back. Then watch for divine encounters to begin to occur as you are given the opportunity to be a minister of reconciliation. The new stones are people who have not been saved or who have not found their church home yet. That spells, EVANGELISM! As you begin to pray, God will give you the specific action plan for you to implement at your church. So, we build up the walls first with prayer and then we build up the walls with people. In the context of CONECT; it is the intercessors who are the workers building up the walls through intercession. It is the intercessors who fill the roles as soldiers responding in force at the direction of leadership to fill-in the gap when an enemy attacks through one of the breaks in the wall (Nehemiah 4:13-20). In Nehemiah, some were assigned the specific duty as watchmen but all the builders were to be on alert and sound the alarm reporting what they saw or heard. The intercessors are like those builders. Working with the watchmen, individual intercessors stand at their post and watch as they build-up the wall in prayer. They are always ready to respond to any threat and they realize that they are a part of a team. Each intercessor understands that it is very important that they faithfully do their part. They are part of the team and a team is only as strong as the weakest link. The enemy will typically attack the weakest point. Therefore, the intercessors are very important. They are the builders. They are the soldiers. They are the ones who "Stand in the Gap!" By the time the gaps are filled through intercession, the communication center will be in place and functioning. The communication center will provide leadership with real time information concerning the current situation in their area of responsibility. Now the can begin to seek the Lord and devise evangelistic strategies to be combined with the prayer strategies in order to finish Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 40 building the house of the Lord (Revelation 5:9, 1 Peter 2:4-6) by winning souls. These souls will also take their position in the wall as well, and be discipled, trained, and equipped to fulfill their destiny. It is important to note in Nehemiah that the wall was large and the people were dispersed far and wide. A watch was established all along the wall. When an enemy was spotted, the report had to be made to Nehemiah who kept the trumpeter next to him. We see that Hanani was leader of the citadel and it is very likely that he helped Nehemiah administrate the watch. Then the trumpeter sounded the alarm. The report would probably come from a watchman but it could also come from one of the workers on the wall. When the trumpeter sounded the alarm, the rest of the people were to gather there to fight. If Hanani administrated the watch, then he functioned like a strategic communication center. He would consolidate the reports and pass the information on to Nehemiah. Nehemiah could then make decisions about where to place his forces. The watchmen or the workers on the north side of the city would have a different view from those on the south side of the city and so it is today with watchmen and intercessors in the body of Christ. It is possible for two or more watchmen to see the same thing yet from a different perspective. If one is posted on the northwest corner of a city and one is posted on the southwest corner of a city and an army approaches from the west. They will see the same thing but from different perspectives. The person functioning as the captain of the guard or the leadership will be in the best position to develop an overall accurate picture. Then decisions can be made.

Why Build a Wall of Prayer It is time to: Ezekiel 22:30 -31 ..stand in the gap.. Isaiah 58:12 build the old waste places, raise up the foundations of many generationsRepairer of the Breach Be an intercessor like Jesus 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Why should we build a wall of prayer? It is because it is time. The Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 42 behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. In Ezekiels time God found no one, but I believe in the annuals of church history it will be said of this generation I found some
Isaiah 58:12 says of those who fast that Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
Jesus was an intercessor as it says in Hebrews 7:21 Jesus lives to make intercession for us and he prayed that we would be one and that no greater love has a man than this than that a man would lay down his life for a friend. If for no other reason we should pray for one another because we want to be like Jesus. But there is more.
There are two important principles in warfare that have been taught for thousands of years and they are true and work because they happen to be biblically based; the principle of offense and security. Building a wall of prayer protects your people and it establishes a secure base of operations from which to launch offensive operations.
John 17:20-21 20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. NKJV

Build a Strong Base of Operations Nehemiah Jerusalem was in ruins and the inhabitants of the city in peril Nehemiah led a reformation to rebuild the walls and the gates Principle of Security Security includes all measures taken to guard the army against surprise attacks and to insure the protection of the population. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 43
Building a strong base of operations is based upon the book of Nehemiah. In Nehemiah's time Jerusalem was in ruins and the inhabitants of the city in peril. So Nehemiah led a reformation amongst all the inhabitants of Jerusalem to rebuild the walls and the gates.
This is also based upon two principles of warfare that have been taught for thousands of years. These principles happen to be biblically based. It is the principle of offense and security. The principle of offense states that offensive operations should be developed with defensive operations and the principle of security states that Security includes all measures taken to guard the army against surprise attacks and to insure the protection of the population.
The MT Zion where David pitched the Tabernacle of David is an excellent example of these two principles. David took and established a stronghold at Zion. Once he set up the Tabernacle of David and communion with the Lord was established, then he began to expand the kingdom. And it says in Acts 15:16 'After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; so that the rest of mankind may serve the Lord even all the gentiles who are called by my name
So building a strong base of operations starts at the local church and then extends to the city.

What Makes up the Wall of Prayer People 1 Peter 2:4-6 living stones... Isaiah 60:18 but you shall call your walls called salvation Isaiah 26:1 we have a strong cityGod will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks What holds the people in place? Love is the mortar 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 44 Well number one the wall is made up of People. In 1 st Peter 2:4-6 we see people referred to as living stones being built up into a spiritual house. And it says that Jesus is the Chief corner stone in Zion. In Isaiah 60:18 it say that you shall call your walls salvation and your gates praise. And in Isaiah 26:1 it says In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; and God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.
So the walls are made up of people, now what do you suppose is the mortar that holds them in place. Well that would be the love of Jesus.

Stand in the Gap What is the gap? Breach, break or fault Fault = breach of legal duty resulting in injury to another Frances Frangipane The gap is the distance between the way things are and they way things should be What two acts go on before the throne of God Rick Joiner Intercession Accusation 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Now in the book of Nehemiah he sets people in the gap to repair the breach and to defend the gap until the gap is repaired. So what kind of gaps are we talking about? A gap can be referred to as a Breach, a break or even a fault. Fault can be used of a spot, blemish, or a crack in the earth but in the legal sense according to Microsoft Encarta a fault is a breach of legal duty resulting in injury to another. So what are the gaps in peoples lives? Frances Frangipane says in his book Repairers of the Breach that the gap is the distance between the way things are and they way things should be. In other words it is the difference between their lives and what the Word says.
What two acts go on before the throne of God? Rick Joyner says in his book Epic Battles of the Last Days7 that it is:

Who lives to make intercession for us? Jesus. Who is the accuser of the brethren; the devil!
Which ministry do you want to be associated with; Intercession or accusation?
What do you pray? Bless them, build them up, bind their will to the Word and will of God, pray kingdom come, will be done
Phil 2:15 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, NKJV
Dont gossip, slander, or accuse. Pray that the kingdom of God would come and rule and reign in their lives. Pray that God would bless them and their family. Bind them to the will of God. Be a repairer of the breach and use liberal amounts of the mortar or love. Noahs two sons covered sin.

Repairer of the Breach The gaps can be referred to as faults Dont be a fault finder Be a Repairer of the Breach Philippians 2:15 children of God without fault. Matthew 18:15-20 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. . I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Gaps can also be referred to as faults. We already have to many fault finders in the Body of Christ. We need people to become repairers of the breach. In Philippians 2:15 it says that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 46
So dont be fault finders, dont gossip, slander, or accuse. Pray that the character of Christ would be formed in them and pray that the kingdom of God would come and rule and reign in their lives.
Matt 18:15-20 15 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.' 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. 18 Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them."
Do you want to be like Jesus? Then intercede! Slide 7
Intercessor in the Context of CONECT Nehemiah 3 - 4 Stationed in the gaps family by family Built while having weapons by their side Every builder had a sword Kept a watchful eye while building The gathered to fight where ever they heard the trumpet sound Each family prays for the families next to them. 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
So what does an intercessor do in the context of CONECT? It is based upon Nehemiah chapters 3 and 4. First, they were stationed family by family along the wall. Hence, every family worked next to two other families. They all built and had their sword strapped on their sides, They kept a Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 47 watchful eye out and they were ready to fight at a moments notice.. And they gather to fight anywhere Nehemiah commanded the trumpet to blow.

The Strategy Nehemiah Ephesians 4:16 .. every joint supplies No one overburdened Everyone is helped Each family prays for two other families Ecclesiastes 4:12 ..a threefold cord is not quickly broken What does each family pray? Bless them, build them up Get to know them so you can pray more accurately Cover them with love Genesis 9:23 Building relationships 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Here is the basic strategy. We are going to follow Nehemiahs example. Every person or family prays for two others. It is like Eph. 4 where every joint supplies. In other words, every one is an intercessor and each family prays for two others. In Ecclesiastes 4:12 it says that ..a threefold cord is not quickly broken
What does each family pray? You pray that the character of Christ be formed in them and that Gods will would be done in their lives. Pray according to the word. Get to know them so you can pray more accurately. Cover them in love like Noahs two sons covered up his nakedness when we sinned in Gen. 9:23
Ephesians 4:16 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love

As youll recall, building the wall of prayer is the first step in CONECT. In our lesson so far weve focused on implementing CONECT in a church. However, it actually starts in a family unit and it can be applied in any organization all the way up through international nonprofit organizations, companies, governments, and militaries. It just requires some leadership, vision and action.
There are a few more steps that well cover in the lesson on implementing CONECT in a city and gathering spiritual intelligence.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 51 Lesson 7 - The Intercessors Responsibility
Today I hear and see something across the body of Christ that I believe is a fallacy; and that is, those who serve in the "ministry of intercession." But wait; dont tune me out before youve heard the whole story. I see so many people that call upon the intercessors. I hear others refer to people and say "well, they are called as an intercessor." There are usually a small handful of people in each local church who are given to prayer that everyone refers to as the intercessors. The reason we see this is that there are so few willing to take responsibility. These few carry not only their own burdens but many others as well. We owe these faithful people a tremendous debt of gratitude. Then there is the large group of people who use this small group of intercessors by passing on to them their personal requests. Those personal requests are very often things that the requestor should be able to take care of on their own. But, they are not called to pray but they know people who are and therefore, if they can just pass that prayer request on, they can have their cake and eat it to. They get what they want prayed for, yet, they dont have to pray. Such a deal! Can anyone show me in the word of God where there is an office of intercession like that of an apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, evangelist (Ephesians 4:8-11). I see elders, deacons and Bishops in 1 Timothy and Titus. I dont see intercession listed among the motivation gifts listed in Romans 12:3-8 (prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhortation, giving, leadership, and mercy). I dont see intercession listed as one of the gifts of the spirit that we see in 1 Corinthians 12 (the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, gift of faith, gift of healings, working of miracles, prophecy, the discerning of spirits, tongues and the interpretation of tongues). So where is this ministry of intercession? Where do we see people called to this ministry? We see in Isaiah that it prophetically speaks of Jesus making intercession for transgressors. We see in Jeremiah that every prophet should make intercession, and we see in Romans 8 where the Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God. Finally, we see in Hebrews 7 where Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. (Isaiah 53:12, Isaiah 59:16, Jeremiah 27:18, Romans 8:26-27 & 34, Hebrews 7:25) Do you know why there is not a ministry of intercession or a gift of intercession or an office of intercession listed? It is because EVERY BELIEVER IS CALLED TO BE LIKE JESUS. WE ARE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE AN INTERCESSOR. Every one of us has the Holy Spirit available to us and every one of us can cooperate with Him as we pray so that the spirit can make Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 52 intercession for us according to the will of God (Romans 8:27)..that is. if we choose to pray. What does intercession or the word intercessor mean? OT:6293 paga` (paw-gah'); a primitive root; to impinge, by accident or violence, or (figuratively) by importunity: KJV - come (betwixt), cause to entreat, fall (upon), make intercession, intercessor, entreat, lay, light [upon], meet (together), pray, reach, run.12 It is coming before someone on behalf of another. Intercessors come before the Lord on behalf of another to entreat Him or plead their case and to ask Him for His intervention. For an in depth study let me refer you to our website at www.watchmanministries.org. Click the books link and it will take you to many fine books offered by people such as C. Peter Wagner, Barbara Wentroble, Dutch Sheets, Bill Hammond, etc Who or what should you pray for? Who should your intercede for? Ill answer that with another question. Who or what are you responsible for and who do you love? That my friend is your answer! Everyone is responsible for themselves and will answer to God for their own actions on this earth. Pray for yourself, your family, your church leaders, your countrys leaders. Do you have a job? Do you have a business? Are you an officer in the military? Do you have people working for you? Are you a minister in a church? Do you have people you are responsible for? This is who you are to intercede for? Where ever you have responsibility you will answer ultimately to God for your stewardship of that responsibility and where ever you responsibility, you have authority. In the context of CONECT each person should first pray for their family, their responsibilities, then pray for the two families assigned them, then pray as the leadership of the church requests. Unfortunately many in the body of Christ have gotten lazy and do not want to take responsibility for themselves or their families. They would prefer to call the "prayer chain" or the "intercessors." Please understand that I greatly appreciate the people that do intercede for others. There are times when you need agreement in prayer. But there are many people who want the intercessors to take responsibility for things that they should be taking personal responsibility for. In doing so, that handful of intercessors most churches rely upon get over worked and many of them burn out.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 53 Personally, I believe that if one of my kids or my wife has a need that is covered under the covenant, then they should be personally equipped with the word of God so that they can deal with whatever problem has arisen. It is my responsibility as the head of my household to ensure that they are trained. It is the responsibility of five fold ministers to ensure that the people in their church are trained and equipped to do the work of the ministry. So for example if one in my family gets sick, I expect them to appropriate God's word. If they need help agreement in prayer, the first line of defense is the family. We pray for each other. Then, if we need help (in the context of CONECT) we call the two families that pray for us. By following the pattern established in CONECT the leaders and prayer chains only have to deal with the most serious situations. In this apostolic reformation there is coming forth a revelation regarding God being called the Lord of Hosts or Lord of the Armies. In this army everyone will march in rank and in file and everyone will do their part. We see this in Ezekiel 37 where every bone gets in its place, bone to bone and joint to joint and it rises up an exceeding great and mighty army. In Joel 2 we see that the day of the Lord is coming and a people come forth great and strong, the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them. A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; surely nothing shall escape them. Like a strong people set in battle array. They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war; every one marches in formation, and they do not break ranks. The LORD gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; and strong is the One who executes His word. It is a powerful when everyone carries their weight and fulfills their personal responsibility (See Ephesians 4:16) This is one of the purposes of CONECT. It is to call everyone to be accountable for their own responsibility. It declares that everyone has responsibility for themselves, their family, their job or office, and their church family. The Bible very clearly teaches that we are our brother's keeper. CONECT helps leaders impart that vision and divides up prayer responsibility in a local church so that no one is overburdened. It encourages good stewardship. In CONECT each person is responsible to pray for themselves, their family, and their responsibilities. In the local church, each family is assigned to pray for two other families daily plus the church leadership. In doing this, we can all participate in the "ministry of intercession. " Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 54 Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. So what was the fallacy regarding the ministry of intercession? The fallacy is the expectation that there is supposed to be a handful of intercessors who are to bear the burden in prayer for everyone else all the time. The truth is, everyone who considers them self a Christian is called to be like Jesus. We are all called to intercede for someone. So to all of you have served in a "ministry of intercession" over the years, I want to thank you and honor you because so many of you have gone far above and beyond the call of duty. There are so many of us who owe you a debt of gratitude. We thank God for you and we pray that many more will accept their responsibility and join you by taking up their place in rank, in file and in prayer. We are issuing that call. It is time to CONECT. Will you answer? Will you take responsibility for yourself, your family and your local church? Will you do your share? Will you answer the call and get in rank and file in the Lords army? Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 55 Lesson 8 - Filling in the Gaps Blameless A Powerful Defense
Essential to building a strong base of operations.
In the lesson on the Intercessors Role the concept of filling in the gaps was introduced. Gaps are the distance between what the Word of God says and what actually exists in our lives. I've spent considerable time contemplating about how to fill in the gaps. The other morning I awoke with this on my mind. Proverbs 26:2 Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight. Then almost immediately this thought came to my mind. Blameless As I began my study this is what I found. Job 1:8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" 9 So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Psalm 18:23 I was also blameless before Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity. 24 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in His sight. 25 With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; 26 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. 27 For You will save the humble people, But will bring down haughty looks. 28 For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. 29 For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall. 30 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 56 Psalm 37:37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace. 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off. 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. Being blameless is a way to build a wall of protection around about you. If you transgress then you open yourself up to destruction. So, we need to pursue those things that express the character and heart of God like righteousness, godliness, faith, love etc. In the context of CONECT the strategy is to build a secure base of operations. This is started by building a "Wall of Prayer." So how do you build a "Wall of Prayer?" Pray that: The character of Christ is formed in each person God's kingdom come and will be done in each persons life We won't sin If we do sin, we'll be convicted and quickly repent Building the wall of prayer helps each family and local church build a secure base of operations. It is from this secure base of operations that we can launch offensive prayer and evangelistic operations. Therefore, every single person in that wall of prayer is important. We are only as strong as our weakest link. If one portion of the body suffers, we all suffer. We need each other and we need each of us to mature. Ephesians 4:10 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 57 stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. I want the power of God flowing in my life and yours just like in the early church. I want to see miracles, the gifts of the spirit operating, and healings. I want to see whole cities come to a saving knowledge of our Lord. But I don't just want the anointing? Oh God, give us the character and the anointing! Fill us with your love, your character and your power. We've seen only a small measure. Have you ever heard a believer bind, rebuke and cast down the principality over a city? I have. In my early walk as a Christian it was me. I said those things. Did you notice any measurable change to indicate the atmosphere over the city changed such as a reduced crime rate, righteousness being exalted, or some other noticeable manifestation? Usually not! We did see some measurable change when we were serving as pastors in a little town in Springfield Oregon in the 90's. We saw what could happen when prayer was mixed with a righteous stand. I'll share that story another time. Usually, I observe a well meaning brother or sister in prayer, declare to the principality over the city that they are bound and cast down or something to that effect, and then nothing happens. Recently, a minister friend and I were talking about this subject and he shared with me that an acquaintance of his once saw the principality over a city while in prayer and he rebuked it. Within a couple of weeks his marriage fell apart and he ended up in a mental institution for a while. I could not help but think of: Acts 19:13-17 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches." 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?" 16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus ; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 58 How much authority can we expect to exercise against principalities, powers and demonic forces if we don't apply the Word of God in our own lives? We cannot effectively apply the Word of God without a personal daily relationship with our Lord. We have got to take authority over our flesh and carnal desires and apply the Word of God there first before we seek to take a city for our Lord. It is only with the help of the Holy Spirit that we'll be able to do this. Oh Lord, help us to apply our faith for the development of godly character in our lives. Fill us with your love oh Lord. Ephesians 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 59 Lesson 9 - The Watch of the Lord
Since the early 90's God has been moving on various people and movements in the body of Christ to restore the Watch of the Lord; why?
Isaiah 56:7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations." NKJV
Isaiah 62:6-7 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
Acts 15:13-17 And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, "Men and brethren, listen to me: 14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. 15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: 16'After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; 17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things.'
I believe that in the eternal history recorded in heaven that of this generation it will say, I sought for a people among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it, and I found some.
Prayer precedes effective missionary and evangelistic work. The Moravians provide an excellent historical example.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 60 In 1727 the Moravians who started a prayer watch that went 24 hours a day for over 100 years. In a community of 300, they started with 24 men and 24 women who covenanted to pray for one hour per day. So two men or two women were always praying. They determined as it says in Leviticus 6:13 A fire shall be kept continually burning on the altar; it is not to go out. This intercession led to a great missionary outreach that affected the world. See the excerpts from Jim Golls book "The Lost Art of Intercession":
Fact: By 1792, 65 years after the commencement of that prayer vigil, the small Moravian community had sent forth 300 missionaries to the end of the earth!13
John Wesley the founder of the Methodist denomination was an ordained minister and was not even saved when he first encountered a handful of Moravians on a ship at see in the midst of a terrible storm. He was touched by their simple faith and calm. He knew he did not have what they had and it ignited a hunger in him. He wanted what they had and he got it. For an in depth explanation of this encounter see Jim Golls book "The Lost Art of Intercession"14 or Rick Joyner's book entitled "The Three Witnesses."15
The rest of John Wesley's life and how God used him to affect a nation is history. Today God is looking to restore the passion for prayer and to ignite a hunger for His presence.
As the Watch of the Lord is established we expect more passion, more of His presence, more love, more character, more power, and more reports. For as the watchmen stand their watch, they'll report what they see and hear.
To this end CONECT (Christian Outreach Network Establishing Church-wide/City-wide/Country- wide Teamwork) has been established to assist leadership in stewarding these reports through establishing a strategic communication center. This is very similar to what is used in the military and is a type of Prophetic Administration. CONECT is a communication plan that assists any organization in tapping into a corporate anointing. Then the elders of a church, the spiritual leaders of a city or a nation will have good intelligence. They will know how the enemy is arrayed against them and can seek the Lord for His strategy for them to implement to set the captives free and to destroy the works of the devil to the intent that we fulfill the great commission and make disciples of all nations.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 63
Lets briefly review what weve gone over in CONECT so far. The first step in CONECT is to build the Wall of Prayer. We learned that scripturally, people make up the wall. In Nehemiah the people rebuilt the wall. Each family stationed by the wall worked by two other families. Therefore, each person or family should pray for two others. They are to pray and fill in the gaps. The gap is the distance between what the word says their life should be and what it actually is. We pray that Gods will be done in their life and that his character would be formed in their lives. Just bless them. And finally, we should pray for the salvation of others in order to build the wall.
Gates in the wall were where people, communication and services flowed in and out. Therefore, gates are a type of ministry that flows in and out to the world. The kings and elders were also the authority and typically sat at the gates.
Slide 3
Watchmen On the Walls Watchmen position themselves so they can see 2 Sam 18:24 -27 Now David was sitting between the two gates. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate.. They cry out what they see and hear to the authority that sits in the gates 2 Samuel 18:24-27 cont. to the wall, lifted his eyes and looked, and there was a man, running alone. Then the watchman cried out and told the king. Prophets in the OT were referred to as watchmen Ezekiel 3:17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org Tim Manama Bahrain Watchtower
The first thing that Watchmen do is to position themselves where they can see. We see in 2 Samuel 18:24 -27 Now David was sitting between the two gates. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate..
The second thing they do is to cry out what they see and hear to the kings and elders or the authority that sits in the gate. For example, if we continue 2 Samuel 18:24-27 it says. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate to the wall, lifted his eyes and looked, and there was a man, running alone. Then the watchman cried out and told the king. We also see in the OT where Prophets were referred to as watchmen like it says in Ezekiel 3:17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: NKJV

Refers to units of time into which a night watch was divided Ps. 63:6, Lam. 2:19, Luke 12:38 The larger the organization the more discipline required Old Testament 3 watches Judges 7:19 (Ex. 14:24, 1 Sam. 11:11). New Testament The Roman system of 4 watches was adopted (Mark 6:48, Matt. 14) In authority but under authority Nehemiah 7:2 Hanani was in charge of the Citadel and the guards Report all that he sees Habukuk 2:1-2 Writing it down ensures better stewardship of the report 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org Changing the guard. And reporting!
When setting a watch there is responsibility and authority involved. This is required especially in order to steward the larger organizations. We see in the Bible that God says in Isaiah 21:6 go set a watchman let him declares what he sees. Well also find in scripture that a watch also refers to a group of soldiers or others posted to keep guard. And a watch can refer to units of time. The larger the organization the more discipline required. In the OT we see the night watch divided into 3 watches while in the NT there were 4 watches.
Therefore the soldiers participating in the watch were under authority and some times in authority. For example we see in Nehemiah 7:2 where Hanani was in charge of the Citadel and the guard. He administered the watch and consolidated all the reports. Just like what the CCC does in CONECT.
We also see in Habakkuk 2:1-2 that Habakkuk sets himself at his watch to see what the Lord will say to him and he writes it down. This is a very good practice because it helps us ensure good stewardship of the report. We can make sure the report is passed up the chain of command accurately.

Watchmen in the context of CONECT Who can stand watch? People who love to pray Prophetic people Usually leaders stand watch because they are already overseeing their people and responsibilities Structure depends upon size of the organization CONECT Review CCC administers watch and collects reports Intercessors and watchmen Possible no watchmen CCC and watchman could all be one person 7 days a week 24 hours a day 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
So lets take a look at watchmen in the context of implementing CONECT in an organization. Remember the primary purpose in CONECT is to facilitate teamwork, communication and the application of the Biblical Principles of Corporate warfare.
Those who want serve as a watchman will typically be people who are prophetic and they are often responsible. . That does not mean they are a prophet, though some will certainly function in that office. But, they will all love to pray and intercede and very often theyll be people in leadership because they are responsible to oversee.
They should be selected by their leadership and they should all mutually agree upon their responsibility.
The structure of the watch will depend upon the size of the organization. Now, recall that in CONECT there is a CCC who is responsible for administering the watch schedule and for collecting the reports from the intercessors (people in the wall can report to) and the watchmen. In a small organization, it is very possible that there will not be anyone filling in the role of a watchman. Or, the CCC and the Watchman could very well be the same person or there might be 5, 10 or even 20 involved in standing watches at certain times for an organization. It is really up to you and your leadership team to determine what is right for you, and it could very easily grow up to a 24 hour 7 days a week watch if you are a large organization.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 67 Structure and administration of the watch depends upon size of the organization. The CCC and watchman could all be the same person. While the goal is 7 days a week 24 hours a day, the idea is to simply work with what you have and be a good steward of their gifts, abilities and reports.
Organization and administration help leaders be good stewards.
Slide 7
Watchmen are Stationed At gates Overseeing certain ministries Leaders and ministers oversee Assign certain ones to oversee concerns Recommend Local authority in collaboration with watchmen decide Start small and simple Teamwork and communication Report to CCC what you see and hear CCC reports to leadership on a pre-determined basis 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
You have lots of liberty to set it up ever how you want. Personally I recommend starting small and growing line upon line. Dont over commit. Ie. Dont plan on setting up a 24 hour watch when all you have is 2 people wholl function as watchmen.
Where are watchmen stationed? Well, one of the first places is at the gates or ministries. Gates are where services, communication and ministry flow in and out to the world. Therefore, it is expected that everyone on the leadership team in a ministry, a company or a government organization will be praying and watching over that ministry anyway, so they should be included in the watch.
Then certain ones might be assigned to watch over certain portions of the wall or people. The Bottom line is this is very flexible. Work with the local authority to mutually decide how youll do it. Start small and simple. Start working on your teamwork and communication. You do that by simply being disciplined to pray daily and to report to the CCC what you see and hear. The CCC consolidates reports and presents it to the leadership on a predetermined basis Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 68
Slide 8
Important to Understand Watchman is also part of the wall Prays for 2 other families Vision of the organization Responsibility to report Authorities responsibility to decide what to do and when A watchman standing at their post does not have the whole picture Submit yourselves one unto another in love Expect to have your reports judged 1 Corinthians 14:29 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org Enemy All 3 watchmen see the same Thing. But each has a little Different perspective. It takes 3 consolidated reports to develop An accurate picture.
Now, it is important to understand. Youll also be part of the wall, praying for two other families. Filling in the gap and praying for the vision of the organization you are part of. The Watchman's responsibility is to report what they see and hear. The CCC will consolidate all the reports to create a big picture. It is the authoritys responsibility to decide what to do once they consider the reports along with all of the other issues that the watchmen may or may not be aware of. Therefore, this requires humility, trust and integrity. Those functioning as watchmen have to be careful not to pray manipulative prayers imposing your will over those who are responsible. You may not have the whole picture. Therefore, pray and be supportive. If in doubt, pray that the Lords kingdom come and will be done.
Also, we see a pattern in where the prophets were to speak two or three at a time and the others were to judge that word. Therefore, everyone functioning as a watchmen should expect their reports to be judged. That is not a bad thing. That is a very good thing. It protects you and it protects the organization from error.

One of the things God is doing across the world today is restoring the watch of the Lord. Here are a few books that I highly recommend. Did you know that the Moravians were Christians in Hereinhut who began a 24 hour watch that lasted over 100 years. It was largely responsible for launching the modern day missionary movement. Today God is stirring the hearts of many to establish the watch of the Lord once again. Watchmen Summary Typically prophetic people Leaders often function as watchmen Report what they see and hear CCC Establishes watch schedule Consolidates reports Reports to leadership Setting up the watch is very flexible 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Now to summarize! Typically watchmen are prophetic people. It is not unusual to find many leaders standing watch sense part of any leaders responsibility is to oversee the people or organization theyve been given responsibility for. The watchmans job is to Report what they see and hear.
Theyll make their report to the CCC. This is the person responsible for administrating the watch and collecting and consolidating the reports. They present the consolidated reports to the leadership at regular intervals. Setting up the watch is very flexible. An organization might only have one or two people who watch over the ministry in prayer, or, it there might be a large number where in the organization can have a 24 hour watch; though that is unusual.
This concludes our module on Watchmen, I pray youd be richly blessed in Jesus Name.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 71 Lesson 11 - The Watchmans Role
Today there is a growing movement in prayer and intercession. I often hear people refer to people who pray on a consistent basis as intercessors and watchmen. Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say specifically about watchmen, their roles, their duties, their stations, and who they report to.
Strongs Concordance defines a watchman as: 6822 tsaphah (tsaw-faw'); a primitive root; properly, to lean forward, i.e. to peer into the distance; by implication, to observe, await: KJV-- behold, espy, look up (well), wait for, (keep the) watch (-man). 20
Brown Drivers & Briggs defines watchman as: 6822 tsaphah- to look out or about, to spy, to keep watch, to observe, to watch a) (Qal) to keep watch, to spy b) (Piel) to watch, to watch closely.21
Let's look at how "watchman" was used in scripture.
2 Samuel 18:24 -27 Now David was sitting between the two gates. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate, to the wall, lifted his eyes and looked, and there was a man, running alone. Then the watchman cried out and told the king. And the king said, "If he is alone, there is news in his mouth." And he came rapidly and drew near. Then the watchman saw another man running, and the watchman called to the gatekeeper and said, "There is another man, running alone!" And the king said, "He also brings news." So the watchman said, "I think the running of the first is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok." And the king said, "He is a good man, and comes with good news."
II Kings 9:17-20 Now a watchman stood on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company of men." And Joram said, "Get a horseman and send him to meet them, and let him say, 'Is it peace?'" .....

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 72 Isaiah 21:6 For thus has the Lord said to me: "Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.
Ezekiel 33:2-7 "Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: 'When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 'when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, 'then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head...........'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.' "So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.
In looking through these portions of scripture we learn a number of things about watchmen. First, the watchman can be stationed in a number of places but is often by a gate on a wall. Second, the watchman simply reports what he sees and hears to the kings or elders who sit in the gates. The authority in the gate makes the decisions as to what actions should be taken and gives orders. Third, as long as the watchman is reporting all that he has seen and all that he has heard, he is fulfilling his responsibility.
Now remember that in the context of CONECT, walls are a type of people and gates are a type of ministry.
Next, let's look at the "watch."
Strongs Concordance translates watch as: 4929 mishmar (mishmawr'); from 8104; a guard (the man, the post, or the prison); (figuratively) a deposit; also (as observed) a usage (abstract), or an example (concrete): KJV-- diligence, guard, office, prison, watch 22
8104 shamar (shawmar'); a primitive root; properly, to hedge about (as with thorns), i.e. guard; generally, to protect, attend to, etc. KJV-- beware, be circumspect, take heed

Nehemiah 4:9 nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.
1 Chronicles 26:16 To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came out for the West Gate, with the Shallecheth Gate on the ascending highway-- watchman opposite watchman.
Nehemiah 12:24 And the heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers across from them, to praise and give thanks, group alternating with group, according to the command of David the man of God.
Nehemiah 12:25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers keeping the watch at the storerooms of the gates.
We see in the preceding scriptures that the watch is filled by someone performing the function of a watchman. Their job is to watch over all that is in their view and to report what they see and hear. They can be assigned on the wall, by a gate, during the day, during the night, by a storeroom, it can be a priestly function and they are under command.
Habakkuk 2:1-2 I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.
In Psalm 5:3 the term "I will look up" is the term for watchman and in Habakkuk 2:1-2 speaks of being a watchman before the Lord, reporting what you see or hear and writing it down. In other words, there is a place to set watchmen before the Lord to see what He would say to us so we can get direction and strategy and we should record this information.
In Nelson's Bible Dictionary we learn that a watch is a group of soldiers or others posted to keep guard. It also refers to one of the units of time into which a night watch was divided (Psalm 63:6, Lamentations 2:19, Luke 12:38). In the Old Testament we learn that there must have been 3

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 74 such watches because of the term "middle watch" in Judges 7:19 (Exodus 14:24, 1 Samuel 11:11). However, in the New Testament period the Roman system of 4 watches was adopted (Mark 6:48, Matthew 14:25).
In CONECT we are encouraging the establishment of a watch. A ministry can set up any kind of watch schedule they want. The combinations are endless. You might have a person stand watch for an hour, two hours, three hours, four hours or more. It really depends upon the time, resources and leading of the Lord in their specific situation.
We also learn from Nelson's Bible Dictionary that a "watchtower" was an observation tower upon which a guard or lookout was stationed to keep watch. This was an elevated platform (2 Kings 17:9, 18:8, Isaiah 21:8). We also learn from Nelson's about the purpose of a tower. A tower was a tall building erected for defense. Some landowners used towers to protect their crops (Isaiah 5:2, Matt. 21:33, Mark 12:1). In the wilderness, towers were used to watch for approaching marauders (2 Kings 17:9, 2 Chronicles 26:10). In cities towers were part of the walls built for defensive purposes (2 Chronicles 14:7, Nehemiah 3:1). They were erected at the corners of the wall, beside the city gates, and at intervals along the walls (2 Chronicles 26:9). Watchmen secured the towers (2 Kings 9:17) and arrow and stone throwing machines were mounted on the towers (2 Chronicles 26:15).
In Ezekiel 3:17 we see the prophet Ezekiel referred to as a watchman for the nation of Israel. In Ezekiel 33:1-7 we learn of some of the responsibility of the watchmen. They are warn the people when they see danger approaching. As long as they report what they see and hear then they have fulfilled their responsibility.
So what can we learn from all of this information?
1. Watchmen simply report what they see and hear. Watchmen report the approach of an enemy or the approach of the king.
2. They report to the authorities who sit in the gates.
3. They are usually stationed at every gate and along the walls at various points. However, they can be stationed other places as well.
4. They are under command.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 75 5. Though a watchman is usually a soldier, they do not attack without specific orders. Their primary function is to report what they see and hear.
6. Their post is often in a watchtower, an elevated structure specially fortified for that purpose. The position is one of a defense. Though siege weapons could be mounted and operated from the tower platform.
7. There is no place in the Bible that indicates a watchman went out and attacked an army. They simply reported what they saw and heard and obeyed the commands of those in authority. The king or commanding officer might send out an army to attack, but the watchman did not give such an order. (Note: the prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3 was referred to as a watchman and in Jeremiah the prophet in Jeremiah 1:10 was to root out, pull down, destroy and throw down, build and plant. Hence, it is possible for those with a prophetic gifting functioning as watchmen to at some point function as the prophet did in Jeremiah)
8. The watchmen were usually soldiers and often carried weapons. It was permissible to use these in extreme cases such as self defense.
9. There was often a captain of the guard or watch whom the watchmen reported to and who prepared reports for the leaders. (Nehemiah 7:2 - Hanani was leader of the citadel or captain of the guard)
Please note that all references to war, warfare, battle etc. are referring to spiritual warfare. We must not confuse battle against demonic forces with people. We must demonstrate our love towards people just like Jesus did as well as pray and act as He did. (see John 18:36)
With this information in mind we can begin to define the role of a watchman in CONECT. The watchman fills the role of a servant. They are to serve the leadership of a church or a city by being assigned a post (watching over a group of people or a ministry) for a specific time. They report all that they see and hear in writing (Hab. 2:2). In CONECT the Communication Center Coordinator CCC fills the role like the captain of the guard in a local church. In a city a CONECTer fills that role. Watchmen are to WATCH and PRAY and REPORT ALL THAT THEY SEE AND HEAR. A watchman will not always understand all that he hears or sees, but that is OK. Their job is just to report what they see and hear to a CCC or a CONECTer.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 76 Who is best suited to be a watchman? There are several types of people who can function well in this role in the church. Listed below are a few of the possibilities.
Any minister functions as a watchman as they watch and pray over their assigned area of responsibility Evangelists watching over their outreach ministry Elders watching over people assigned to them Deacons watching over their assigned responsibilities Sunday school teachers watching over those in their class The worship leader watching over the worship team Youth minister watching over the youth ministry Any person who is working with a leader listed above and being mentored Prophets People who are prophetic (love to pray and worship) People who are called to ministry and are being trained
In the context of CONECT watchmen can also fulfill three tasks. These tasks are especially helpful when a church in the city decides to develop a detailed spiritual intelligence report.
Prayer watch Prayer walks Research
In CONECT the leadership team was tasked with identifying a perimeter in order to build a "Wall of Prayer." Recall that people (living stones) make up the wall and that gates are types of ministry. If the leadership team in a local church wants to set a watch, then they'll need to determine who watches over people and who watches over certain ministries. In addition the leadership team will need to determine:
How long will they require a watchman to stand watch? Are they being called to establish a 24 hour watch in their church or city? Who will function as the Communications Center Coordinator (like a captain of the guard) to administrate the watch and consolidate the reports received from watchmen and intercessors for the leadership team?
If you would like to learn more about the prophetic ministry or the office of the prophet I'd recommend that you check out the books authored by Bill Hammond (see our Books on Prayer Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 77 found at www.watchmanministries.org) on "Prophets and Personal Prophecy, Prophets Pitfalls and Principles24, and Prophets and the Prophetic Movement."25 I would also recommend Mahesh Chavda's book on "Watch of the Lord"26, Barbara Wentroble's book on "Prophetic Intercession"27 and Jim Goll's book on "The Lost Art of Intercession." 28
Intercessors in CONECT will also report what they see and hear but their primary role will be different. The intercessors primary role in CONECT is to stand in the gap, repair the wall, and to fight as part of a team when directed (Nehemiah 4:20).
So intercessors stand in the gap and repair the breaches while watchmen stand their watch in prayer and report all that they see and hear. A Communication Center Coordinator (CCC) in a local church or organization will gather all these reports and provide a consolidated report to the leaders on a regular basis. (Note: in a city, state, or country a CONECTer fulfills the role of the CCC)

Establishing a 24 Hour House of Prayer in a City
What would the ideal implementation of CONECT look like in a city? Following in the spirit of the restoration of the Tabernacle of David the goal is to establish a "house of prayer" in each city where there is 24 hour prayer, praise and worship being offered up to the Lord.
While it would be difficult for any one congregation to establish a 24 hour prayer watch, it would be easy for local churches in a city to work together to accomplish that. Imagine if there were 12 local churches willing to work together in a city, a 24 hour watch could be established if you only had 2 people from each congregation willing to commit to one hour of prayer per day.
The desire to establish prayer like this can only be birthed in peoples heart by the spirit of God. CONECT is simply a communication tool that will assist leaders in being good stewards of the time, effort, and prayer reports that are generated by increased prayer.
But I see and pray for so much more.
I see this strategic communication center (CONECT) in a location in each city where in there is a place and space provided for people to come and pray, for psalmists, musicians, dancers, singers and artists to come and minister before the Lord.
I see cities where in a Wall of Prayer is being built between local churches just like was illustrated in type by Nehemiah and David as they both fortified their positions and made the city secure and strong. On this wall the Watch of the Lord is being re-established. This creates a secure base of operations for the church from which the church can then launch offensive operations. In these cities the church becomes a "house of prayer for all nations" as we pray and seek the Lord in one accord. Prayer will be going on continuously 24 hours per day.
The leaders of the city who have the God given assignment to take that city for His glory will function very much like military leaders and will systematically gather (steward) the prophetic reports generated through increased prayer. These reports will be consolidated by the CCC and presented concisely to the leadership so that they can seek the Lord for His strategy for taking their city. After seeking the Lord for His plan they will then move out strategically and tactically to expand the kingdom. They will function and act like admirals, generals and captains. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 79
Following in the tradition of good military leaders, they will be servant leaders and will make provision to ensure that each person is trained to fulfill their assignments and destiny whether it be in the workplace, their home, in a governmental agency, a military organization or the ministry within the church. No longer will there be the distinction between "full time" ministry within the church, but all are in full time ministry for their job, their home, their office in the military is their ministry. They will impart a vision for teamwork that is unprecedented in church history and we will move as "one man" in showing forth the manifold wisdom of God to principalities and powers while displaying great love to the people who are being set free.
They will implement strategy and employ tactics that combine prayer, evangelism, and discipleship. Not only will people be set free but provision and discipline will be employed to ensure that we make disciples and do not lose people who have made a decision to follow Christ. They will know they are making progress when all churches in the city begin to grow and things like crime rates begin to decline.
The leaders will honor the various aspects of God's anointing and character within each local congregation. As they are obedient not only will souls be saved but wealth will come in as well in order finance the harvest and the building of the kingdom. This is like the army or the foot soldiers. They will emphasize primarily the kingly anointing (note: all believers should function in both the kingly and priestly anointing personally). In the same place that the reports are gathered, there will be prayer, praise and worship going on before he Lord 24 hours a day very similar to the worship that was found in the Tabernacle of David. These who minister before the Lord in this place will be like the air force (Aim High, Join Prayer Force) . They will operate primarily in the priestly anointing providing a prayer (air) cover for all tactical and strategic operations. Both the kingly and the priestly anointing are essential in order for us to fulfill all and we must be in one accord.
The place described above is like a communications center and an armory. Some may call it a five fold ministry center or an apostolic equipping center. The name is not important but what is important is that churches in a city pray, work and do all that we can to equip the believers to do the work of the ministry.
The Moravians who launched a 24 hour a day watch that lasted for over 100 years had a motto. That motto was, no one works unless someone prays. This small church that committed themselves to prayer, launched our modern day missionary movement. 29

This is what I see coming forth. This kind of prayer and action can only be birthed in our hearts by the spirit of God. WMI will play a small role in all of this. In key cities we will establish a WMI base in order to facilitate the vision I just shared. We will also provide CONECT as a Strategic Communication Center. It is a tool that will assist leaders in being good stewards of corporate communication and corporate relationships. We will provide leaders training on principles of war, strategy and the projection of power. We will minister on worship with the arts and the restoration of Davidic praise and worship.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 81 Lesson 13 - Prophetic Administration
We are in the midst of an apostolic reformation. In this reformation we are seeing the church re- formed as an army as we receive revelation of our God as "Lord of the hosts." Leaders in the body of Christ are seeing changes in:
Operational procedures Church government Interchurch relationships Financing Evangelism Missions Prayer
Apostolic leaders are taking on more and more of the characteristics of military officers as we realize our responsibility in the administration of warfare. There is a new understanding permeating the body of Christ regarding our responsibility to steward not only money but the gifts and talents resident within each believer.
In the 1980's and 1990's we saw an emphasis on prayer, prophetic gifts and office of the prophet. God also began restoring the Watch of the Lord (see Mahesh Chavda, Jim Goll, etc). The prophetic gifts are very powerful weapons in our spiritual warfare. We see some of the effectiveness of this gifting in Jeremiah's commission.
Please note that all references to war, warfare, battle etc. are referring to spiritual warfare. We must not confuse battle against demonic forces with people. We must demonstrate our love towards people just like Jesus did as well as pray and act as He did. (see John 18:36)
Jeremiah 1:10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant."
There has been awesome progress made in the increase and amount of coordinated corporate prayer in the 1990's as was evidenced in projects like Praying through the 10/40 Window wherein corporate prayer was coordinated with ground forces (prayer teams sent into the countries). In Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 82 the 2000's we see that progress continuing as evidenced the "Target 40/70 Window." The prophetic giftings were evident and essential in these operations. They were used offensively and to gather intelligence. This kind of operation could only be administrated by apostolic vision and gifting.
This occurs as the apostolic giftings take responsibility for the operations just like military officers would.
operations [ pp ryshnz ] controlling of organized activities: the supervising, monitoring, and coordinating of the activities of a military or civilian organization or a complex machine ( often used before a noun ) the operations console of a computer. Encarta World English Dictionary
In the few years after my return from Desert Storm God began dealing with me about some of these very issues. It was based upon a principle of warfare called the "principle of mass."
Leviticus 26:8 - Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.
In order to glean the greatest benefit from this principle requires intelligence, communication and the coordination of people. The prophetic gifting evident in many people in the body of Christ today has provided a tremendous amount of insight and information. In essence they often are used to "spy out the land." They provide spiritual intelligence.
More and more prophetic reports are being generated as the church is entering a time when the "Watch of the Lord" and a "Wall of Prayer" is being built around the world.
There is also an increase in not only prayer, but praise and worship unto the Lord as David's Tabernacle is restored. The measure of the kingly anointing released will be proportionate to the amount of priestly ministry that occurs before the Lord.
As prayer increases so do the reports of what people see or hear in prayer. These reports are spiritual intelligence and are very important in developing corporate strategy. In order for an apostolic leadership team to get the maximum benefit from these reports requires stewardship and administration.
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 83 In Jim Golls new book The Seer he makes reference to Prophets Who Speak Forth the Administrative Strategy of God With a Political Slant. He goes on to describe these prophets as those who devise strategies that release and help foster the wise and smooth implementation of Gods purposes. 30 That kind of gifting is what helped develop CONECT.
CONECT stands for The Christian Outreach Network Establishing Church-wide (city-wide or country-wide) Teamwork. It is a communication system that will assist leaders in any organization to become a better steward of their personnel assets. It is a scalable system that can be used to establish and administrate prayer and the prophetic reports. It provides an operational plan and tools to help a leadership team steward the prophetic reports they receive and it strongly encourages linking up with other ministries with whom you have relationship with and it provides a structure to facilitate corporate teamwork.
CONECT has several goals but there are two primary goals that are relevant to this discussion regarding prophetic administration. First it is to provide leadership with timely intelligence so that they can make the best decisions and secondly, to encourage corporate teamwork within the body of Christ. The leadership team is also provided training on the Biblical Principles of Warfare. These are the same principles that have been taught to military officers over the last 5000 years. They worked for the military because they are all Biblically based.
Before corporate teamwork can be effective, the local church first has to learn to function as a team. Hence, CONECT starts in the local church. Please see Operation Reformation for the scriptural strategy that CONECT is based upon.
CONECT provides the administrative plans and tools that empower a leadership team to collect, compile and present a succinct concise reports on the present situation facing that church. A leadership teams ability to make good decisions is based upon good intelligence and CONECT provides a way to help that leadership team steward all of the prophetic gifts and reports they receive so that they have the best information available.
CONECT is a tool that can be used to coordinate the gifts in a local church, churches in a city or churches in a country. Once you have established a communication plan to receive reports you automatically have a way to communicate back to the people. Hence, once you receive the strategy from the Lord you have the ability of mobilizing many people to implement the prayer or evangelistic strategy.
30 Jim Goll, The Seer, (Destiny Image Publishers Inc, 2004), pg. 37. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 84 Besides being likened unto a Strategic Communication Center, CONECT can also be likened unto a LIGAMENT in the Body of Christ. It is like connective tissue joining parts of the body together. It establishes lines of communication with those whom you have relationship with. It empowers the Army of the Lord to pray and work together corporately to establish our Lord's purpose in each church's area of responsibility. CONECT can be used to establish a prayer chain all the way up to a 24 hour prayer watch. It defines new roles for intercessors and watchmen and is based upon a strategy used by Nehemiah. If you already have a prayer watch established then you will find that principles of warfare will only help improve your teamwork and communication.
I hope you have caught the vision and will join us in establishing the "Watch of the Lord" and building a "Wall of Prayer."

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 86
Why gather spiritual intelligence? Well first, it is Biblical. We see Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Nehemiah and even the Apostle Paul gathering intelligence before they received and implemented a strategy to fulfill God's purpose.
Why gather intelligence? It is because it is needed in order to empower you to fully apply the principles of warfare. The principle of objective, mass, economy of force and decisive point all count intelligence as critical to their implementation.
And finally, we have an excellent modern day example. Weve all seen how effective smart weapons are in the last war with Iraq. However, these smart weapons would not be very useful unless they had good targeting information and that targeting information is based on intelligence.
It is a patterned in the Bible. Consider Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Nehemiah, Paul and.
Spiritual intelligence is needed to fully apply the principles of warfare such as Objective, Mass, Economy of Force, and Decisive Point.
First the natural then the spiritual. Consider the Gulf War. The Smart weapons were only as good as the intelligence provided the weapon.

Are There Any Examples in Scripture? Joshua Jericho in Joshua 6 Nehemiah Surveyed the wall Nehemiah 2 Elisha 2 Kings 6 Paul Prayer walk through Athens Joshuas Strategy Implemented Walls of Jericho fell! 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 87 So what about some scriptural examples. We see in Joshua 6 that Joshua sent in 2 spies to gather Intel on Jericho before he received his strategy from the Lord. We see in Nehemiah that he surveyed the walls of Jerusalem at night before he presented the overall plan to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. In 2 Kings 6 we see God speaking to the Prophet Elisha and telling him the enemy plans and then Elisha reported that to the King of Israel. And finally we see the apostle Paul going on a prayer walk in Athens. While on that walk he found the statue to the unknown God which was key in later presenting the gospel to the Athenians.
2 Kings 6:8-11 8 Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, "My camp will be in such and such a place." 9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, "Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there." 10 Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. 11

Methods of Gathering Intelligence Intercessors watch and pray Prayer walking Watchmen Prophetic people like Elisha Research Historical Demographics Current news 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
So how can you gather intelligence for your church or organization? I trust that you have implemented the first step in CONECT which is building a wall of prayer so you can build a strong base of operations from which to launch offensive operations. If youve done this youve already greatly increased prayer. With that increase in prayer should come more reports from your people watching and praying.
You can assign watchmen to do prayer walks in your community.
You can also assign watchmen to watch over certain portions of the ministry or along the walls. These folks will tend to have more of a prophetic edge. The idea is to be good stewards of the gifts and callings in peoples lives. Some will be gifted like Elisha was and God could speak to them directly giving them information on enemy plans.
You can have teams of watchmen doing historical research, studying the demographic of your area and researching the current news.
Purpose is to encourage you to do it. When researching you may find the following tools useful. History Demographics Current news

George Otis Jr. has written a whole book devoted to spiritual mapping. The book is called Informed Intercession. It is an excellent resource as it approaches Gathering spiritual intelligence systematically. This is essential for corporate warfare especially in a church but especially in a city. He provides what he has learned from researching case studies around the world with some outstanding testimonies of communities being transformed. He provides Methods, Recommendations and even addresses some of the flaky things that people do even with the best of intentions.
This is especially helpful the larger the area is that you want to affect and can be used in local church, in a city, in a region or in a nation.
This is essential in providing accurate targeting information and for identifying enemy strategies.

CONECT Example 8 watchmen 5 see nothing 3 Report to the CCC CCC reports to the leadership CONECT facilitates Gathering the information Reporting the information to leaders Teamwork Applying the corporate principles of spiritual warfare Enemy The view for each Watchman is a little Different. CONECT Puts the whole picture Together. 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
The purpose of CONECT is to provide just enough structure to support the life. It is like a ligament helping join bone to bone and joint to joint. It sets up a communication network with those whom you have relationship with so as to provide a means to collect all the information gleaned from prophetic watchmen reports, the intercessors reports, prayer walks, research etc in systematic manner so as to build a current picture of what the lay of the land and the dispersion of forces both friend and foe.
To illustrate how CONECT works, lets say we had a base of operations with 8 watchmen. Do you realize it is possible for three different watchmen to see the same thing and yet their reports are different? It is because they can see the same thing from different vantage points. For example if an enemy approaches from the east, three watchmen could possibly see its approach. But the view and report from the watch on the north can greatly differ from the watch on the south and the watch facing directly on the east. CONECT has the watchmen report to the CCC who consolidates these reports so as to provide the leadership with current up to date intelligence concerning all that is in view. It helps them be a good steward of the gifts and talents God has provided them in their people and then they can seek the Lord for His strategy. They can then decide what to do. It provides protection, accountability and it allows us to utilize the principles of corporate spiritual warfare.

Summary Gathering accurate intelligence is an important Biblical pattern Intel is needed to identify targets and strategies so that we have the opportunity to apply all the principles of warfare Methods of gathering spiritual intelligence Prayer Prophetic reports Research CONECT Consolidates and reports Facilitates corporate teamwork 2003, Tim Taylor, Watchman Ministries International, www.WatchmanMinistries.org
So in summary Gathering accurate intelligence is an important Biblical pattern
Intel is needed to identify targets and strategies so that we have the opportunity to apply all the principles of warfare
There are many Methods of gathering spiritual intelligence, these range from Prayer to the Prophetic reports to research and prayer walking.
CONECT is simply a communication tool that helps leaders steward the intelligence by allowing the reports to be consolidated so that they can be provided a current up to date big picture assessment. Then they can seek the Lord for His plan. Then CONECT can be used to mobilize the people to implement that plan. The bottom line is that CONECT facilitates corporate teamwork.
Well that concludes our introduction to spiritual intelligence. I hope you choose to check some of the resources out. You can access them at your book store, online or through our website. I pray that youd be richly blessed in Jesus Name. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 93 Lesson 15 - Spiritual Intelligence Why is Spiritual Intelligence Important? The Principle of Objective teaches us that the objective must be clearly defined. You may recall from the recent wars in the Persian Gulf that smart weapons were used very effectively to save lives. They were able to target enemy positions with pin point accuracy. However, the ability to hit a target with pin point accuracy is only as good as the intelligence that provides the targeting information. When planning a war, it is important to know two things. First, you need to know your enemies capability, location and intentions and secondly you need to know the capabilities and the location of friendly forces. With regard to the enemy you need to gather as much intelligence as you can. Consider these Biblical patterns. Moses sent spies into Canaan - (spied out a region in Numbers 13) Joshua sent spies into Jericho and Ai - (spied out cities in Joshua 6 & 7) Gideon spies an enemy camp - (Judges 7:10-15) The Apostle Paul knew where to strike - (1 Corinthians 9:26)
The Apostle Paul knew the enemy schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). I should mention that the Principle of Security states that while it is important for you to glean information about your enemys location and intentions, it is just as important that you hide intelligence from him. Maintaining security is very important. Do you remember the old expression from World War II, "Loose lips sink ships?" Well it is just as true today as it was then. If you are a leader, you need to make sure that the people working with you gathering spiritual intelligence can keep a secret. The apostle Paul exhorts Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2 that he should entrust his teaching to "faithful men." Make sure that those working with you are proven faithful and trust worthy. In the context of CONECT the function of gathering spiritual intelligence will be assigned to the watchmen. Gathering Intelligence through Watching In 2 Kings 6:8-12 we see the prophet Elisha functioning as a watchman and providing spiritual intelligence to the king. The Lord told Elisha where they Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 94 Syrians were going to camp and then he reported on the troop movements of the Syrian army and in doing so provided valuable intelligence that the leader of his nation could use to make appropriate decisions. In Acts 16:6-10 we see the Apostle Paul directed to minister to the Macedonians through a vision in the night. Could it be that he was obeying the command of our Lord and "watching and praying?" I think so. Gathering Intelligence through Prayer Walking In Acts 17:22-23 we see that the Apostle Paul discovered a key to the Athenians heart through "prayer walking." It says in verse 23 "for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: To the Unknown God...." It was this key that he used to introduce the gospel to the Athenians. In Acts 8:29-32 the Holy Spirit directs Philip to go near an Ethiopian where in he over hears what he is reading. Based upon this information he acts and ends up leading the man to Jesus. Gathering Intelligence through Research We see in Numbers 13 that before Moses and the children of Israel were to enter the promised land, they first sent spies into the land to gather intelligence about the region. Note how the Hebrew word "tuwr" is translated in each of these bibles. King James Vesion - Numbers 13:2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
New International Version - Numbers 13:2 "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders."
New King James Version - Numbers 13:2 "Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them." Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 95 Strongs Concordance OT:8446 tuwr (toor); a primitive root; to meander (causatively, guide) about, especially for trade or reconnoitring: KJV - chap [-man], sent to descry, be excellent, merchant [-man], search (out), seek, (e-) spy (out).36 Spying out the land = research = spiritual intelligence! Spying out the land is basically doing research. You can refer to examples above where regions of land, cities, and armies were spied out. There are various ways of gathering information. God could communicate through a direct word, a vision, a dream or through a prophetic gift or word of knowledge. Some information can be gleaned in the course of every day living by simply being sensitive to the leading of the Lord like Philip was. But I want to talk to you about purposely seeking to gather information for the specific purpose of equipping church leaders with the information needed so that they can seek the Lord for His strategy to take their city or region for the glory of our Lord Jesus. Satan is the god of this age and he has blinded the minds of people to prevent them from hearing and seeing the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). Our task is to do whatever it takes to present the gospel to others so they can see and hear the truth. For those who choose to make Jesus Christ both Lord and Savior we are tasked with making them disciples. There was a book written by Don Richardson called "Eternity in Their Hearts." Don is also the author of the books "Peace Child" and "Lords of the Earth." In each book he describes how they discovered a key to that peoples culture that opened up the gospel to that people. It is based upon Ecclesiastes 3:11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. NKJV In his book "Eternity in Their Hearts"37 Don's discovery is that God has placed within each culture a key to the gospel. Once that key is discovered it is possible to share the gospel with great effectiveness. He describes finding the key to several people groups such as the Incas, the Santal, Ethiopia's Gedeo people, the Mbaka, the Chinese, the Korean and the Karen of Burma. In each case missionaries discovered the keys by learning the language, the culture and the history of the people they were assigned. This research was always bathed in prayer.

There is also an excellent chapter on what strongholds are. The bottom line is that the strongholds involve our minds and our way of thinking. Each city has a unique culture We learned about spiritual intelligence after my return from Desert Storm in 1991. At that time we lived in Springfield Oregon. Springfield is right across Interstate 5 from Eugene. They were and still are two very different cities. Eugene was the second largest city in Oregon, it was a college town and 75% of the population had a bachelors degree. At the time it was considered the most educated city in the US and it had the most political action committees as well per capita income for cities over 100,000. Politically speaking it was very liberal on moral issues. Springfield on the other hand was a much smaller mill town. By analyzing the political process and votes on moral issues, we discovered that Springfield was significantly more conservative than Eugene on moral issues. The pervasive attitude in the area was that Eugene was sophisticated and intellectual and Springfield was where the uneducated mill workers lived. Our training by the Holy Spirit began in 1991. At that time we were just learning about the prophetic and in the four previous years we had learned how to pray and had given ourselves to times of personal and corporate prayer. The more we prayed, the easier it got to hear or sense the leading of the Lord. We began to meet others who were learning about the prophetic as well. One thing that I observed was that sometimes there were well meaning good intentioned people who said flaky weird things and then would try to validate it by tacking on a "thus saith the lord" at the beginning of their statement. Due to my military background I had certain opinions about importance of intelligence and the need for accurate, timely and complete intelligence. Therefore, if we heard in prayer or by someone prophesying that such and such a spirit was ruling in an area, then we sought to verify that word. There is a Biblical principle that states, in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established. Prove all things Let me give you an example of what I mean. It was prophesied that the ruling spirit over Eugene was the spirit of death. So we did some research. Eugene is located in the Willamette Valley.
38 Ed Silvoso, That None Should Perish, (Regal Books, 1994), pg. 99. Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 97 Willamette is an Indian term that translated as the valley of sickness or valley of death. Once we discovered that we did more research and found that about 150 to 160 years ago 20,000 to 30,000 Indians died in this valley from an illness that the white man was unable to identify. The missionaries who preceded the settlers had a desire to preach Jesus to the Indians. However, the missions failed their primary assignment because the Indians died. Then we discovered that the Hemlock Society was founded in 1980 in Eugene. The Hemlock Society advocates euthanasia. Also, when the abortion pill RU-486 was first introduced to the United States, it first came to and was tested in the University of Oregon which is located in Eugene. Hence, we have natural manifestations that historically testify of the work of the spirit of death. Based upon the evidence or the fruit, we came to the conclusion that the ruling territorial spirit over the Willamette Valley was the spirit of death. Let me elaborate on one more example. During this season the Lord would prompt me to go walk around an area and pray (this was before the book on "Prayer Walking" came out). On one of my prayer walks I ended up in a park in Eugene and I discovered an altar (a stump with various colored candles burned on it) that looked like it had been used many times. After this the Lord led me to numerous high places in the city. In several of those places I found other structures that I believed were used as altars. One was made of stone, another of bronze etc. After identifying those places and sensing what the Lord said, I later got confirmation. A brother in the Lord was hiking one day on the mount where the bronze altar was and they saw someone actually burning incense and performing a ritual. Hence, what was sensed in the spirit was confirmed by eye witness testimony. How did we glean our information? Prayer Prophetic words or words of knowledge Historical research News paper Demographic research Prayer walking People in our congregation and in the city would report what they saw and heard. During this season of time we diligently researched what we could but the thing that was absolutely amazing was the unique multifaceted way that God brought information to us. God arranged divine encounters with government, civil, business and church officials. People would bring us reports Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 98 of significant happenings in the city, church or community even before the news media was made aware of it. The challenge is keeping up with the information and preparing it efficiently in some sort of useful way for leaders. It was during this time and season that the Lord imparted the vision to me for CONECT. One aspect of CONECT is that it is a "strategic communication center." It acts as the focal point where information can be gathered and a concise report can be generated for leaders on a consistent basis. A Communications Center Coordinator is the person in CONECT who is assigned to administer the watch, gather the reports, filter the reports and present a consolidated report to leaders. Questions to ask when doing research? When doing research I recommend that you document your sources. You want to know where the information is from, who gathered it, and when. Here are some suggested questions to help get you started. Please refer to "Taking Our Cities for God,"39, "Possessing the Gates of our Enemies,"40 "Informed Intercession,"41 and "Breaking Strongholds in Your City"42 for amplifying information. 1. Where is the enemy located? 2. What schemes or tactics does the enemy use? Note strengths and weaknesses. 3. Where are the friendly forces? 4. How well equipped and trained are your forces? Note strengths and weaknesses. 5. What are the strongholds in your area? 6. What part does your city play in your state or nations history? 7. Was a new language or culture ever imposed through war? 8. What were the religious practices of ancient peoples? 9. Did a new religion ever emerge from your city or region? 10. How did the gospel first enter the city, the state or your nation? 11. Have governments ever disintegrated, failed, or been subverted? 12. What was the leadership style of the government? 13. How have wars affected your city? 14. What names have been used to describe or label your city? 15. Why was the city originally settled? 16. What are the current demographics?
39 John Dawson, Taking our Cities for God, (Charisma House, reprinted 2001) 40 Cindy Jacobs, Possessing the Gates of Your Enemy, (Chosen Books, 1991) 41 George Otis, Jr., Informed Intercession, (Renew Books, 1999) 42 C. Peter Wagner, Breaking Strongholds In Your City, (Regal Books, 1993) Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 99 George Otis Jr. in his book on "Informed Intercession" suggests the use of three distinct groups who operate independently and yet report to a common person. One group prays, one group does research and one group does prayer walking or driving (they pray on site with insight). In doing so great confidence is generated when two or more sources report the same thing. In the context of CONECT, these are functions performed by teams of watchmen. Part of the tools provided in CONECT are forms and templates for watchmen, intercessors, reporting etc. We recommend that you use these reports to gather all reports generated through the increased prayer. These same reports can be modified to gather information gleaned from prayer walks and research. CONECT provides tools and guidelines but ultimately it is up to each local leadership to decide how much they will do and how they will implement CONECT. Who decides what to do with the information? In the Old Testament we see that kings and elders sat in the gates. In every case the watchmen simply reported what they saw and heard either directly or through a captain of the guard. It is up to the kings and elders to decide what to do with the information. Today in the body of Christ we need to learn to respect and receive the gifts the Lord has placed within each of us and we need to learn to respect the spheres of authority. Authority is based upon responsibility. I believe there are people (apostles, prophets and leaders) whom God has assigned to take their city for His glory. These are the people that we at Watchman Ministries International would like to serve. This is who CONECT was designed for. The challenge that some prophetic people have as they function as watchmen is they sometimes fail to remember that we know in part and we prophesy in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). If you go to our lesson on Gathering Spiritual Intelligence, you'll see that sometimes three different watchman can see the same thing and yet their reports are different. It is because they view the same object from three different perspectives. If a person looks at an elephant from the front, and other from the back and another from the side, they can all see the same object, but each persons description will be different. The reports need to be judged (1 Corinthians 14:29) and the information gathered. CONECT facilitates the gathering of information. It helps put together the big picture and provides leaders up to date intelligence from which they can then base their decisions on. Once the information is gathered a consolidated report is prepared and delivered by a Communications Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 100 Center Coordinator (CCC's function for a local church like a captain of the guard) or a CONECT- er (same as a CCC but who serves church leaders in a city). It is up to the church leaders in that city, who have responsibility before the Lord for that city, to seek the Lord for His strategy to be implemented there. God equips people with the tools, wisdom and anointing to accomplish what He has assigned them to do. Our job is to support those leaders by providing a Strategic Communication Center (CONECT) to facilitate the gathering of current spiritual intelligence along with training on the Biblical Principles of Corporate Spiritual Warfare. But it is the responsibility of the local authority that God holds accountable for that city or region to determine what God's strategy is for your city or region. We want to work with church leaders in a city who have responsibility before the Lord for that city. We believe that CONECT can bless local churches and assist churches in a city or region who want to work together. Watchman Ministries International wants to disciple and train a CONECT-er in each city and the Communication Center Coordinator in each church that participates.

Watchman & Intercessor Training for Teamwork & the Corporate Anointing WMIs Spiritual War College Watchman Ministries International, Tim Taylor 2003 118 Biographical Information Tim and his wife Brenda were called into the ministry after his return from Desert Storm. During that war the Lord the Lord imparted a vision to Tim regarding coming events in the body of Christ. Watchman Ministries International was founded 1992 with a vision to declare the coming revelation of God as the Lord of Hosts and with a mandate to prepare His church to function together as an army. It was at that time that the Lord imparted a vision for the Christian Outreach Network Establishing City-wide Teamwork otherwise known as CONECT. CONECT coincides with the restoration of Davidic 24 hour prayer, praise and worship in a city and is based on Acts 15:16 along with the Biblical Principles of Corporate Spiritual Warfare. As prayer, praise and worship increases in a city, so to will spiritual intelligence (prophetic reports) increase. Crossing denominational lines CONECT establishes a strategic communication center and its purpose is to help leaders be good stewards of the spiritual intelligence created. It helps build teamwork between churches in cities as the church leaders seek the Lord for the specific prayer, evangelistic and discipleship strategies to be used in their city or region. As the Lord shares the strategy to employ CONECT provides the framework for leaders to then communicate and initiate that strategy amongst their people. It is a tool that assists leaders as they wage war in their campaign to take their city for Christ. Trained as a naval officer Tim learned about the principles of warfare and has attended the Naval War Colleges Strategy and Policy course. After Desert Storm the Lord began to reveal to Tim the roots of the principles of war that have been taught to professional officers for over 2500 years. He discovered that each major principle of war Biblically based, and that is why they worked. It was at that time that the Lord imparted the vision for CONECT. In 1995 he began doing conferences and seminars on Biblical Principles and Strategies, the Art of Warfare. Later he self published a book under the same title. While in Ethiopia in 1998 the Lord imparted a vision for the next step in CONECT and it required a great leap in technology in order to serve the church in distant lands. It took 5 years, but Phase 1 was completed in May of 2003 and he is currently working on moving to Phase 2 of the technical implementation. Called as an apostle with a prophetic anointing Tim has an eye for developing corporate strategy and is responsible to oversee the implementation of CONECT in cities around the world. Over the course of the last 15 years he has functioned as a pastor, teacher, prophet, and a missions director. He served as a board member of a ministry overseeing 145 ministers and their ministries around the world and participated in a number of missionary and evangelistic outreaches in the nations. As a wise master builder he has an ability to build teams and combine vision with people and practical applications in order to accomplish vision. His passion is to see the local churches in a city or region connect with one another and to establish 24 hour prayer, praise and worship in their city. The purpose is for the local churches in their city to demonstrate the power of God to principalities and powers while at the same time demonstrating God's great love towards mankind.
