Adhesives and Installation Allura

General Advice
The installation of Allura
should be carried out in
accordance with BS8203
code of practice for the
installation of resilient floor
coverings. As with all resilient
floor coverings, bases should
be clean, smooth, sound and
permanentl dr.
!or standard installations

adhesive is recommended,
however, if a low emission
"%& adhesive is re'uired,
"urocol ()$0 "urostar Special*
should be used.
+t is important to note that
areas of installation liable to
be sub,ected to abnormal
temperature variation in use,
for e-ample, premises with
gla.ed window fronts,
gla.ed patio doors,
conservatories etc. must be
adhered with "urocol
("uromi- /0* which is a two
part rigid set polurethane
adhesive.
Acclimatisation
/rior to installation, bo-es of
tiles should be removed from
the deliver pallet and stored
not more than five bo-es
high in the laing area for at
least 2$ hours.
The conditioning time should
be e-tended to $8 hours if
materials have been stored or
transported at temperatures
less than &0
o
% immediatel
prior to deliver.
Installation options.
1ost Allura designs are non2
directional3 however, the
following installation advice
is given.
Stone tiles ma be laid either
in bond 4broadloom5 or bric6
pattern.
Te-tile designs should be
installed che'uerboard.
Tiles and plan6s do not
re'uire shuffling prior to
installation, but dr laing
will identif best use of
design. /lease note that
abstract stripe designs do not
have a pattern match.
7i6e the natural material,
some designs will var in
tone and colour. This is
intentional and gives the
floor a more authentic
appearance.
Points to note
As with all !orbo floor
coverings, Allura can be used
in con,unction with under2
floor heating sstems.

adhesive that can be covered
within the specified open
time.
Allura tiles should be rolled
with a )8 6g roller as soon as
possible after laing and
within the open time of the
adhesive : the open time of
the adhesive will depend on
site conditions and porosit
of the base.
