LAKESIDE PRIDE TO PROVIDE A FIRST LOOK AT THE BANDS
NEW UNIFORM AT THE CHICAGO PRIDE PARADE

A New Uniform for a New Era Fundraising Campaign Approaches Halfway Mark

CHICAGO, JUNE 24, 2014 The award-winning Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching
Band, under the direction of Christina Zurcher, will once again march in the Chicago
Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29 at NOON. The legacy of Chicagos lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender (LGBT) marching band, which re-formed as Lakeside Pride in
1997, dates back to 1979 when the original Chicago Gay Pride Band emerged out of the
desire to have a marching band in the annual pride parade.

As the eighth entry in the parade lineup, Lakeside Pride will get the crowd roaring with
pop favorites, including a medley of Daft Punk hits and Happy by Pharrell Williams.
Come sing and dance with the band along the parade route, which starts at Montrose
Avenue and Broadway in Uptown and ends near the intersection of Diversey Parkway
and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.

Spectators will get a first look at the new Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band
uniform. Designed exclusively for the band by Fred J. Miller Designer and Drum Corps
International Hall of Fame Member Michael J. Cesario, this one-of-a-kind uniform will
celebrate LGBT heritage and will visually extend the reach of the bands message of
acceptance and inclusion.

The Lakeside Pride A New Uniform for a New Era campaign is nearly halfway to its
goal of raising $25,000 to purchase the new uniforms. As the largest fundraising effort
undertaken by the organization, the campaign has already secured significant donations
from both individuals and local companies.

For additional information about the campaign, or to make a donation, visit
www.lakesidepride.org. The targeted completion date for the campaign is December
2014 to order uniforms in advance of next years parade.

The Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band is part of Lakeside Pride Music

Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 2011, the Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band,
