Install the Software

Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Note: Administrator rights are required to install and authorize Harmony
Navigator. Otherwise Harmony Navigator will not be able to install or update its
drivers.
Copy the self-extrating file !e.g." nav-1.4.1-10028-smith.exe) to a new folder on
your omputer. #tarting it will unompress the installation files to a temporary
folder and begin the setup proedure. $n ase the downloaded file is a %$&
arhive" you will need to extrat its ontents to a new folder and start the
#'()&.'*' manually.
&lease +eep the original installation files in a safe plae on your omputer. (his
will allow you to run the authorization proedure or ma+e hanges to the
installation at any time.
(he #'()& program will as+ you to hoose two diretories" a program diretory
and a doument diretory. ,e reommend that you aept the suggested
diretories.
Important: $f you want to run Harmony Navigator from a less privileged user
aount for safety reasons" you must replae the default user name ontained
in the suggested doument diretory with the desired user name upon
installation.
MacOS X
-ove the downloaded arhive !e.g. nav-1.4.1-10028-smith.tar.gz. to a new folder
on your -a and open it there by double-+i+ing on it.
/irst" install -idi#hare if your -a does not yet have it installed. -idi#hare does
not affet other appliations and -$0$ interfaes. $t is used to ensure proper
timing for -$0$ events sent by Harmony Navigator.
Next" start the installation program 1Harmony Navigator #etup2 and follow the
instrutions. (his will unompress the software and all assoiated douments.
After the installer has finished" you will find the program in the 1Appliations2
folder as usual" right under 1Cognitone2.
Uninstall the Software
Note: &lease deativate your installation before removing it from your
omputer. (his will free up one installation ount" so you are able to install and
authorize the software on another omputer.
Windows 2000/XP/Vista
As with any other software" you an remove Harmony Navigator via the ,indows
ontrol panel !symbol 1#oftware2.. Alternately" you an run the 1Harmony
Navigator #etup2 program that was used to install the software. 3ou will also find
an )ninstaller in the ,indows 1#tart2 menu right under 1Cognitone2.

the installation.
MacOS X
As usual with Apple" you an uninstall the program by simply throwing it in the
trash. However" we reommend that you use the program 1Harmony Navigator
#etup2 beause it an deativate your installation online so that you have a new
installation immediately available in your liense aount.
Uprade an !arlier Version
4efore upgrading to a new program version" ma+e sure that you have ba+ed up
your personal files and settings. 0uring installation" Harmony Navigator
preserves important settings and ma+es ba+up opies of files that are
overwritten. However" you an only aess these again after uninstalling again.
