List Of Areas/Activities in CSR Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF), established in
1993,is the social development arm of Ambuja
Cements Ltd. It works exclusively with rural
communities on issues related to Water Resource
Management, Agro & Skill-based Livelihood
Generation, Health, Education, Womens
Empowerment and Rural Infrastructure in all the
states where it is situated. Ambuja Cement funds
56% of the total fund received by ACF, the rest

CSR Implementation ACF formed by Ambuja Cement works as a full-
fledged organization funded by many other
organizations apart from Ambuja Cement. The
projects are undertaken as per the requirement of
the state in which it is working. A team of 423
dedicated professionals implement its projects
and programs with the support of numerous
organizations which have helped in
implementation of projects. Its work currently
extends to 22 locations in 12 states across India,
reaching out to more than 13 lakh people through
projects with annual expenditure of `5725 lakhs.
CSR Review/Report Each year ACF publishes its own annual report
enlisting all its financials and operation details. A
lot of the methods and techniques have been
approved by the government and replicated to
similar conditions in different areas of the
country. They have undertaken impact
assessment studies, both internally and by
external consultants, to assess their work
periodically.
Awards/Achievements ACF bagged a national award for Excellence in
Water Management, 2012, in the Excellent
Water Management Initiatives - beyond the
Fence category.
ACF is accredited by Credibility Alliance as
adhering to the desirable norms prescribed for
good governance of voluntary organizations.
Response to New CSR Mandate Ambuja Cement is one of the very few companies
that have a CSR expenditure of more than 2% of
PAT much before the DPE Guidelines were
implemented. As per the revised DPE Guidelines
effective from April 01, 2013, a separate Board
level sub-committee is under formulation for
overseeing the implementation of the CSR

CSR Implementation Shree engages with the community through

assessment, the programs are customized and

with the community, and to plan, monitor and
coordinate the activities.
CSR Review/Report Shree cement published its ninth CSR report in
July 2013. The report adheres to the Global
Reporting Initiatives (GRI) version of G3.1
guidelines along with the Mining and Metals
Sector Supplement (MMSS), with Application
Level A+.
The report is also aligned to international
protocols such as the Cement Sustainability
Initiative (CSI), the United Nations Global Compact
(UNGC) and the International Finance Corporation
(IFC) guidelines. The CSR committee was formed
during the previous year to ensure proper
monitoring and reviewing of company's Social
Development initiatives. The committee
periodically reviews the various activities
undertaken in the field of CSR. Further the
committee is mandated to provide guidance to
the management on implementation mechanism
and impact assessment of these initiatives.
