Overview This software release v4.82 focuses on added functionality and enhancements for PrintSet 4. You use PrintSet 4 to configure your PB21/PB22/PB31/PB32, PB42, PB50/PB51, PD41/PD42, PF2i/PF4i, PF8t/PF8d, PM4i, PX4i/PX6i, and PW50 printers.

New Functionality Update bootloader for PB50, PB51, and PW50 printers PrintSet 4 can update the bootloader for the PB50, PB51 and PW50 printers if they are running Fingerprint, IPL, or ESC/P. You can find this option in the Firmware Update Wizard.
To download a new bootloader 1. Visit the Intermec website (http://www.intermec.com) and then navigate to your printer product page. 2. Click the Downloads tab. 3. Download and install the new bootloader.
After updating the bootloader, you must restart your printer in order to complete its installation. You have two options:
If you are also upgrading your printer to a new firmware version, perform the firmware upgrade immediately after the bootloader upgrade. Your printer will automatically restart after the firmware is downloaded.
If you are not upgrading your printer's firmware, manually restart the printer by removing all power, then restoring power.
Run PrintSet in USB diagnostics mode You can run PrintSet 4 in a USB diagnostics mode that displays progress and information dialog boxes as it attempts to add a printer through a USB connection. During normal startup this diagnostic mode is disabled.
To enable USB diagnostics mode 1. On your PC, click the Windows Start button. 2. Depending on your version of Windows: In Windows 7 or Windows Vista, locate the Search programs and files field. In Windows XP, click the Run button and locate the Run: field. 3. Type one of the following commands in the field:
Note: These commands assume you have installed PrintSet 4 in the default installation folder. If you have installed PrintSet 4 in a different folder, substitute that folder for the ones below.
If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, type:

If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows, type:

4. PrintSet will start.
Note: To connect to printers through a USB connection, your printer must be set up and detected using InterDriver version 7.3.1 M-2 or later.

About Upgrading PrintSet 4 You should check for periodic updates to PrintSet 4. Updated versions can include bug fixes or additional features that may be useful.
If you are upgrading from PrintSet v4.70 or later, the installation wizard will uninstall v4.70 before it installs v4.82. If you are upgrading from another version of PrintSet (v4.60 or earlier), you must manually uninstall PrintSet before you install v4.82. To upgrade PrintSet 1. Visit the Intermec website (http://www.intermec.com) and then navigate to your printer product page. 2. Click the Downloads tab. In the Device Configurations table, download PrintSet v4.x. 3. Run the installation wizard.
