WHO IS LIV?

Over four million viewers worldwide recognize LIV as "that guy that spit that sick verse on Facebook or Worldstar. But where did this multitalented
author, actor, poet, hip-hop artist and ghostwriter come from? The better question is, why haven't we heard from him until now?

Jah LIV, who is known to his fans simply as LIV, was an early pioneer back in the days of Kangols and Adidas. Half of the rap duo D Double L, the
Pittsburgh native spent time in Germany where he did the heavy lifting, writing lyrics for all three members of rap trio, Devastating Three. Upon his
return to the US, his love for hip-hop and New York City culture landed him in Harlem. As LIV puts it, "My style was born on 145th and Edgecombe."

Back in this early era of hip-hop, many components were necessary to form a potent crew. A dj was a must, groups were the norm as opposed to solo
artist, and dancers played a huge role in keeping a stage show live. Without a manager, attempts to mesh personalities always ended with the dissolution
of the groups. Management was hard to come by in those days. In the pre-indie era, emphasis was always on hard sought but seldom found label deals.
After one final attempt with the trio Black Market, LIV had had enough.

LIV, disenfranchised with the politics but in love with the flow, turned toward spoken word poetry. To quote LIV, "with spoken word, I only had to
count on myself; just a man and a mic, and if there was no mic, I could project from the diaphragm. After qualifying for Pittsburgh's national slam
poetry team (Steel City Slam) LIV published the book Babylon B C. LIV seemed poised for his run toward the top. Events transpired on April 20, 2007
that would change all of that.

In a case of mistaken identity, a gunman fired 30 rounds from an AK-47 aimed at LIV, 5 found their mark, " A good friend didn't make it that day, rest in
peace Shawn. GOD is the greatest", is as far as LIV would expound on the subject.

One month and five surgeries later, LIV opened for reggae superstar Capelton, from a wheelchair. Four devices', connected to mobile power sources,
circulated blood to promote tissue regrowth, while a metal rod held broken bones together giving them a chance to heal. LIV's set was a huge success;
everyone on their feet, the glow of a thousand lighters illuminated the entire venue. I think that sums up the resolve of this man.

Seven years later, following a chain of events that LIV says he will not disclose because they are the subject of the screenplay based on his life, LIV's
piece "The New" went viral. With combined views from facebook, worldstar hip-hop and youtube, views as of June 2014 are reportedly in excess of 4
million. This seasoned vet now finds himself in high demand.

A movie role in an independent film, a role in a pilot for cable tv, spoken word poetry shows, a hip hop single released, collaboration with artist from the
UK and Africa and ghost writing current US hip hop artist, LIV humbly states, "all glory is due to THE MOST HIGH GOD. This is just the beginning.
The door THE FATHER opens no man can close."

It certainly seems as if doors are opening everywhere for this multitalented, truly gifted artist.
