to read Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White" whi!h led us into how we !an have dii!ult )ut
respe!tul !onversations as a (hristian !ommunity. 7e2t" in the *all o .013" )oth !hur!h !oun!ils
read and dis!ussed an 85(# resour!e !alled The Church and Homosexuality. This led us into
!onversations a)out what the 'i)le does and does not say a)out homose2uality" the history o
marria&e in the !hur!h" and the s!ien!e around homose2uality.
Throu&hout these !onversations" it is !lear that we are a !ommunity that has a variety o opinions on
this topi!. 7ow" we would li+e to invite you into urther !onversation" )ut we want to do that in a way
that eels sae and wel!omin& and respe!tul o all opinions and )elies.

and 7orm will )e sharin& with us how their !on&re&ations have approa!hed the topi! o
homose2uality and same1se2 marria&e" and as a result" they will model or us how this dii!ult
!onversation !an )e respe!tul and lovin&. 9ern and 7orm will ea!h have .0130 minutes to share
their stories and then we will spend a)out 30 minutes in small &roups tal+in& a)out what we heard.
*inally" we will end with 30 minutes o <=# with 9ern and 7orm.
This is meant to )e a !onversation starter or our !on&re&ations. $e will not ma+e any de!isions or
ta+e any votes re&ardin& same1se2 marria&e and our !hur!hes at this time. This is to open the door
