While they all may be looking for something diferent, there is one common draw, the Ryans reputation. Ryans is above the rest for unbeatable customer service, competitive prices on over 5,000 major brand name items, an unparalleled selection of New York State Wines and Spirits and their state-of-the-art cuvenee wine tasting bar. One of the frst places customers like to head to on the weekends, is the gleaming 12-bottle cuvenee wine tasting bar. this unique feature has quickly become a go-to for wine enthusiasts looking to sample new wines. the hammered copper, horseshoe-shaped bar features 12-14 wines with changing monthly selections. ryans general manager and Wine Buyer, Stephanie Rudat, selects the bar wines every month and found that theming the wines made it much more fun for consumers. Last month Ryans featured Women in Wine, all wines made by women or wineries owned by women. in June of last year they started the War of the Roses, where dry ross from all over the world, made from various grapes, were featured. This year they will expand the number of ross featured on the bar due to the popularity of this category. The wine bar is always free to taste from. No matter what the theme, Ryans is always sure to include New York State wines. With its prime location to all of the finger lakes, the 14,000 square foot store carries over 900 new York state wines and spirits. customers will fnd products from 109 new York wineries, cideries and distilleries ranging from a single vineyard gewurztraminer and teroldago, to a beet vodka distilled in Brooklyn and a premium rye whiskey made on nearby Seneca Lake. The New York spirits are easy to fnd in their respective sections, with each product having a shelf tag that signifes its origin. New customers appreciate the easy-to-navigate New York wine department with each lake having its own aisle. Whats coming next at Ryans? Every month the store ofers free wine classes, often featuring the winemaker or winery owner. One recent unique ofering featured a red wine blending session with heron hill winemaker, Bernard Cannac. Each customer had samples from various vineyard sites and a graduated cylinder for making their blend. The results were quite tasty! the classes, which require reservations, are a way for customers to learn, in depth, about a style of wine or winery, taste wines they might not otherwise have tried and to have their questions answered. ryans releases a list of available wine classes through their free weekly email newsletter, as well as, keeping in touch with their fans on Facebook. Signups for the newsletter can be done on their website. besides monthly wine classes, grand tasting events are held 2-3 times per year. The event of notoriety is the annual Holidays in the Finger Lakes grand wine and cheese tasting. Typically held two weekends before thanksgiving, this free tasting features over 50 wines and spirits from 10 local wineries and distilleries. this provides customers with the perfect opportunity to try new wines and vintages from small and large wineries alike. No matter what day of the week it is, or what time of year, one thing remains true; Customer service is our number one priority, says third generation ryans owner, Jr miller. a customer can never be taken for granted.
