On the Cover: What is this?
According to Archivist Judy Levin Cantor, this
sculpture by Morris Brose is appropriately named
Zedek. It also is the sculptors interpretation of the
18th letter of the Hebrew alphabet, which stands
for Life. It was a gift to CSZ from the Samuel and
Louis Hamburger families. Look for it in the garden
area to the right of the main Synagogue entrance
doors as you enter the building, next to the awning.

More than 60 young adults gathered at the home
of Shari and Heyden Graham for the Summer
Soiree, the first event in a new initiative to engage
young members and potential members of CSZ.
Attendees mingled with the clergy and officers,
enjoying sushi and Asian-themed cuisine, a kosher
wine tasting with sommelier Evan Barrett of Plum
Market, and musical entertainment by
Hazzan David Propis and Heyden Graham.
Above all, this was a great opportunity for
socializing. Photos from the event will be posted
in the August-September issue of The Recorder.
We especially want to thank Shari and Heyden for
opening up their beautiful home and the committee
members who created such a wonderful event:
Ilana and Adam Block
Amy and Stuart Brody
Meredith Cohen and Anton Babushkin
Shari and Heydan Graham
Lauren and Joshua Rennert
Hy Safran
Kelli Saperstein and Kyle Anderson
Dana Shapero and Bradley Merker
Rachel Taubman
Ronald Victor and Heather Olson
Brooke and Matt Weingarden
Jaime and Jonathan Zadoff
Thank You!
