highlighted in this handbook with the tree symbol.

WHEN YOU FIRST BEGIN DRIVING A BRAND NEW VEHICLE
(Also referred to as Breaking-In a new vehicle)
When you purchase a brand new vehicle you do not need to drive it excessively in order to
break it in. Do not drive continuously at the same speed for the first 1000 miles (1600km) when
you first begin operating your new vehicle. Vary your speed often to give the moving parts of
your vehicle a chance to get warmed up.
Drive your new vehicle at least 500 miles (800km) before towing a vehicle. For more
information about towing a trailer look at the chapters in this handbook titled, Tires, Wheels
and Loading.
During the first few thousand miles (kilometers) leave all oils and lubricants in the vehicle as
they came from the factory. Changing/adding those products could cause damage to the
vehicle or prevent it from performing properly after it is broken-in. Look in the Maintenance
and Specifications chapter under Engine Oil for more information on oil usage.

maintained and last. Proper maintenance will allow you to drive your vehicle for many years
without too many major issues regarding how it runs or process things. If you have any
questions that are not answered in your Owners Guide you can always contact a service
provider in your area that are available at all authorized dealers.
Do NOT remove the coolant reservoir cap while the engine is running or still hot!
This will result in serious injury!
